26 praise the Lord I want to talk to you

this afternoon about Christ Our one and

only high priest our one and only high

priest

Hallelujah Lord Jesus we come to your

word again we come with anticipation and

excitement hallelujah oh God you have

given a hungry people to your heart here

in New York City you found the hungry

people there are many in this city that

are hungry but oh God many are in this

building here this afternoon right in

the middle of this Sodom and Gomorrah

are people that reach out hungry for the

word of the Lord Lord he shall know the

truth and the truth shall set you free

thank you Jesus that you are one and

only high priest there is none other

Hallelujah now Lord teach us bring us

now Into Your Heart Lord we’re so

anxious to to to understand you to

understand where we are in you and in

this time lord speak clearly to our

hearts give us an understanding open our

ears and our eyes and our hearts to you

Lord we want to learn more about you we

want to learn to be strong in these last

days no matter what comes we want your

strength we want the power of the Holy

Spirit to be released in us thank you

Lord bring us to a new relationship a

new understanding of the high priest of

Jesus Christ Our Lord and how weak and

helpless we are in our own strength and

power Lord anoint me let the words come

forth unction ised by your spirit in

Jesus name I pray amen

now just don’t refer to that chapter

just leave it open on your lap if you

will please we’re going to talk about a

boy King who came to power when he’s 16

years old his name is Uzziah some the

original is oziah but I’m so used to

saying Uzziah let’s use Uzziah his name

in Hebrew means strength with God or the

strength of God another words God will

give you strength his mother was a very

Godly woman uh named jeah and her name

meant God will enable you God will

enable you this young man was evidently

raised in a Godly home and no doubt his

mother uh said I named you the strength

of God because one day you’re going to

inherit your father’s Throne you’re

going to sit on that throne and you’re

going to need the enabling power of God

and she said I named you that because I

want you when you come to Authority and

sit on your father’s Throne I want you

to depend on on God for your strength I

don’t want you to do it your own

strength God will give you strength she

names him that and that’s her own name

God will enable you this is surely what

she taught this young man he was raised

Under the Influence also of a great

prophet named Zachariah also Isaiah uh

was contemporary with him and Isaiah

loved this man and we’ll talk about that

before the message is over this young

man uh sought the

Lord uh by the way Zachariah said had

great understanding in the visions of

God and I can imagine that all through

his Boyhood and on up in fact he served

the Lord Faithfully as long as Zachariah

was alive very very faithful all his

days and the Bible says that uh Uzziah

sought the Lord as long as he sought the

Lord God made him to prosper he

prospered in such a way he he built a

tremendous uh impeccable Army of 305,000

soldiers and 2,600 captains uh he he he

took over the seast cities where he had

trade from World centers coming in and

God blessed and prospered this as no

other king in the history of Judah he

built the the the wall strong around

Jerusalem built 250ft Towers uh to look

out Towers to to check for the enemy he

had a very in ventive mind he invented

all kinds of of new weapons of war of

human

Ingenuity and in fact the Bible says

that men Kings brought him gifts from

all over the world very prosperous

mightily used of God a man who sought

the Lord with all of his heart he built

uh Wells he dug huge Wells Water Systems

aqueducts into the cities the major

cities throughout Judah and he was so

well named even to the entering of Egypt

the Bible says and his name spread far

abroad and he was miraculously helped

till he became strong miraculously

helped I know from what God is saying in

the scripture that he became very

morally strong his strong character you

can’t spend your life calling on the

name of the Lord and seeking without

building strong moral character here’s a

strong man you’re probably run is very

righteous there was a there there was

something about this man that was very

very different he sought the Lord God

blessed him God prospered him he had the

word of God embedded in his heart from

powerful prophets from a mother and his

his father started out doing what was

right before

God and he reigned for 52 years in Judah

52

years after 50 years after 50 years of

walk with God 50 years of calling on the

name of the Lord something happened to

this man something tragic incredible

almost

unbelievable here here’s a man that for

50

years uh is in Spiritual Authority and

at the peak of his strength the peak of

his power the peak of his

Fame the Bible says he became strong and

at the very peak of strength but what he

was strong look at 26th chapter verse

16 but when he was

strong his heart was lifted up to his

Destruction for he transgressed against

the Lord his God and went into the

Temple of the Lord to burn incense upon

the altar of

incense now amazing this man

doesn’t horrible thing he attempts to

make himself the high priest of Israel

his own high priest and the high priest

of Israel evidently he he has he has

framed out he has uh prepared himself a

Brazen sensor that held live coals and

by the way the fire in this sensor is

Strange Fire because it’s the fire of

his own making he didn’t get it from the

incense alar that burned by the fire of

God through the holy spirit this is his

own fire he gets coals from his own fire

puts them in the censor marches into the

Tabernacle and proceeds to to make his

way toward the holy of holies incredible

Azariah the high priest and 8 other

priests stop him and says it’s not given

to you to be a priest you’re not called

to this this is something that is beyond

you this is not for

you and Azariah the priest verse 17 went

in after him and with him four score

Priests of the Lord that were Valiant

men and they withstood Uzziah the king

and said unto him it appertaineth not

unto the Uzziah to burn incense unto the

Lord but to the priest the sons of Aaron

that are consecrated to burn incense go

out of the sanctuary for thou has

trespassed neither shall be for thine

honor from the Lord God then Uzziah was

wroth or angry and had a sensor in his

hand to burn incense while he was wro of

the priest leprosy even rose up in his

forehead before the priest in the house

of the Lord from beside the incense

Altar and Azariah the chief priest and

all the priests looked upon him and

behold he was lepos in his forehead they

thrust him out from th yay himself

hasted to go out because the Lord had

smitten

him leprosy breaks out on his forehead

he recognized I don’t know if he sees it

in a Brazen mirror nearby he may have

seen it in a reflex of his own Brazen

sensor I don’t know that he is driven

out you say well so what now that’s a

that’s an incredible interesting and

tragic

story it’s an Old Testament story it’s

history it’s gone no no no no remember

what we said none of these happened to

them except to be examples to OIP on

whom the ends of the world have come

this is a training this is a teaching

the Lord has recorded it for our

teaching for our

understanding now what are the lessons

in this of course there’s a lesson uh

that people can fail God after 50 years

of service if they’re if they allow

Pride to come into their heart you can

also learn from this uh what it means uh

the dangers of success and popularity

and fame and riches the dangers of that

even to a Godly person but there’s a

greater lesson far far beyond all of

that and I want us to see this lesson

and folks when the Lord’s beginning to

speak to me about the New Covenant the

whole everything in this Old Testament

comes alive you see it in a whole new

truth and I want you to I want you to

see something with me please not trying

to be novel or anything else but there’s

a powerful lesson that the Holy Ghost is

trying to teach us the sin of Uzziah is

the sin of the very religious it’s the

sin of those who can sit in church for

example when they hear the pastor speak

about the problems of the drug addict

the alcoholic The Prostitute The Gambler

and all that and you can sit back

comfortably and say I’m so glad that

message doesn’t apply to me I’m I’m so

glad uh and there many of you here right

now that most of your life time most of

your Christian Life you have lived a

clean and moral life you’re not an

adulterer you can sit here in this

church comly say I’m not a fornicator

I’m not homosexual I don’t gamble I

don’t drink I don’t smoke I don’t curse

you could go right down the line good

moral character and over the years

you’ve grown in that

strength this is the very kind of and

that Uzziah was he could sit at Times

Square Church in this time space and he

could be very comfortable problem and

never be edgy in his seat very

comfortably would not be convicted by

much of my

preaching because it didn’t apply to him

but you see this is the sin of a of a

righteous people a people who over the

years have developed good strong moral

character I’m talking to a lot of people

here

now three

amens how is it listen to me now how is

it that after 50 years of seeking God it

all ends in

vain tell me how 50 years of calling on

the name of the Lord 50 years of

reaching out to God and living a clean

moral life tell

me how is it

that this man can end up under the

Judgment of God an ostracized

leper this godly man who is doing what

is right living righteously for 50 years

what awful thing is this that he’s done

that God would negate 50 years of good

living of goodness 50 years wipe it

out what has he done and folks when you

understand what he’s done you begin to

understand the danger of trying to come

into the presence of a holy God into the

holy of holies with your own Strange

Fire your own sensor of good works and

human energy because fire is energy and

in that sensor is human

energy and this man goes into the H

trying to go into the holy of holies

trying to persuade God he could look and

say look I’m as righteous as any priest

as azer I’ve lived 50 years a clean

moral life for 50 years I’ve walked

straight and he is willing to go into

God’s presence and justify

himself now many of the theologians say

he’s trying to do as his neighbors all

of his neighbors that have been paying

tribute to him all of those kings like

in Egypt they took the priesthood they

were also the high priest of their

people as well as king he wanted the

priesthood as well as the king as well

as the throne but that’s not it

and folks when you understand this

you’ll see once and for all the

danger of of sitting in God’s presence

and saying well

Lord H like the Publican you remember I

the Pharisee that goes to the Tabernacle

to pray and he says oh Lord I’m so glad

I’m not like these extortioners look at

this adultery over I know he commits

adultery I’ve heard all about it and and

look over here Lord at these drug

addicts look at these people the

stitutes look at all these I’m so glad

I’m not like Lord I

tithe I pray and fast twice a

week I am not putting down good moral

character I thank God there’s something

about people that that have been free

from sin there’s something about people

that have walked with God for years and

turned to him with all of their heart

but I’m telling you there can come a

time in your life listen to me now now I

don’t care how long you’ve been serving

God I don’t care if you’ve been 50 years

in the service of God filled with the

Holy Ghost there’ll come a time when the

enemy will come in like a flood he will

come in when you don’t expect

it and there is where the test comes

whether you’re going to try to be your

own high

priest and whether you’re going to trust

in the high priesthood of Jesus Christ

your

Lord this man says I will be my own

priest I’ll be the high priest I am his

righteous and he is he is ready to bring

his good works he’s ready to bring 50

years of his accomplishments and present

them to God as a reasonable

sacrifice as so as a right before God to

take the

priesthood and that’s exactly what we do

we claim the priesthood we bypass the

priesthood of Jesus Christ when we come

in to his holy presence and trying to

present to God our energy our will our

our

goodness let me give you an

example and this is a true story it’s a

Godly Man in fact I talked to a pastor

about this this past week he called me

on the

phone this man walked with God he about

62 years of age he’s written books he’s

a Godly Pastor powerful man of God this

man was one of the most morally Clean

Men you could ever meet he said he had

never in all the years he served God all

his life never had a problem with lust

never any evil thoughts he lived

absolutely free it was

marvelous 62 years of age 62 to 63 years

of age something happened he he’d never

known depression in his life never been

depressed suddenly Depression hit him

deep horrible depression and in the pit

of that that

depression evil thoughts began to plague

his mind thoughts of lust things he’d

never experienced in all of his life and

he said oh God where did this come from

what is happening to me he couldn’t

understand it now he had two

options he has an option to go to the

high priest of Jesus Christ about he’s

got an option to try to be his own

priest his own high priest he he could

have wallowed in despair he could have

he could have fell on his face and

weeping saying God don’t understand he

he would try to figure out a sin that he

can’t comprom can’t

comprehend he he he try everything in

his own power to try to find out what

has happened he can go to God this is

one of the options he can go to the Lord

and say now Lord this is not like me you

know it and he can look at his past and

say all these years I’ve worked for you

and I’ve loved you I’ve sacrificed I’ve

had all these years but over 50 years of

no evil thoughts now Lord if you just

give me time be patient with me I’ll

figure this

out just be patient with me I’ll get on

top of this I’ll do my best never again

to think these evil thought I’ll do my

best whatever it takes to pull myself

out of this

depression if he does that he’s doing

exactly what Uzziah did he’s going into

the holy place with Strange Fire his

sents are filled with his human energy

his human promise everything in his

ability to go and say Lord give me time

I’ll figure this out I’ll do my best and

he would strive he would cry he would do

everything within his own human power to

set himself

free and tried to get back to where he

was when this Invasion From Hell came

against him but thank God this man could

say I’m not a high priest this man went

to Jesus Christ is high priest and he

said Lord I don’t know what’s happened

but you’ve promised me by coven that you

would see me through and I believe you

and God laid hold of him he got into the

word of God and just stood still to see

the salvation of the Lord and God

delivered him God delivered him by his

power by his grace by his Mercy through

the energy and fire of the Holy

Ghost

Hallelujah most of us would say well

brother I know Jesus Christ is my high

priest I never ever think of doing what

Uzziah did I would never try to think I

could forgive my own sins well you see

we’re I hope you can understand I’m

trying to make it as simple and plain as

I possibly

can let

me let me first before go any further on

that talk about the priesthood of Jesus

Christ Hebrews

8:1 would you go to Hebrews 81 please

for just a moment turn quickly to

Hebrews 8th

chapter I want you to see it in black

white verse one chapter 8 Hebrews 8

verse

one now of the things which we have

spoken this is the

sum we have such a high priest who is

set on the right hand the Throne of the

Majesty in the heavens all right now

look at me please that’s one verse but

how powerful it is listen to me please

and here’s the Greek the original Greek

meaning this is the point of everything

we’ve been discussing look in the first

seven chapters when you go home and you

will find teaching about unbelief about

faith and Holiness about hearing God’s

voice Divine rest Covenant Prayer

Ministry the Holy Ghost and on and on

and on all in the first seven chapters

and then the writ of Hebrews say now the

things that we have spoken everything

I’ve taught you in these seven chapters

it’s all summed up the point of it

all and if you don’t get this he says

you missed it

all and this is where the whole

charismatic movement in so many churches

today have missed it they’re totally

literate of this they know nothing about

their high priest they’re striving

they’re working and making promises and

failing sinning and confessing sin and

confess and never coming into

Freedom he said the point of it all

the whole meaning of this is that you

have a high priest on the throne in

glory he said if you don’t understand

that you don’t understand the gospel the

sum of it all the whole

picture you have a high

priest you have someone that’s

interceding Before the Throne of God you

have a merciful kind priest a high

priest in the very presence of God this

is not your battle

this is not your War there some of it

all learn to pray learn to rest in the

Holy Ghost learn all of these truths but

if you don’t know anything about the

high priest you don’t have a foundation

the sum of it all the point of all our

salvation and everything we learn our

Doctrine is that we have a high priest

in glory oh

Hallelujah we have a high priest who’s

touched with the feelings of our

infirmities

we have a high priest who is set on the

right hand of the Throne of majesty in

the heavens right into the second mean

the holy of holies went the high priest

once every year not without blood which

he offered for himself and for the

errors of the

people but by his own blood he entered

in once into the holy Place having

obtained Eternal salvation for us for

Christ is not entered into the holy

Place made with hands which are figures

of the TR but he went into heaven

itself now to appear in the presence of

God for us I stand here now with a high

priest that’s in the very presence of

Creator God who’s pleading my casaste I

have a high priest now who’s touched

with the feelings of my infirmity

everything I’ve been through he’s been

through every Temptation he knows what

it’s all about he was T touched by it he

knows all about it I have a high

priest so Christ was once offered to

Bear the sins of many and unto them that

look for him shall he return the second

time without sin under salvation now

look turn to Hebrews

10 let’s begin to read verse 10 and if

you going to understand your the high

priest of your savior you’ve got to know

the 10th chapter of

Hebrews verse 10

10 verse 10 by the which will we are

Sanctified through the offering of the

body of Jesus Christ once for all and

every priest standeth daily ministering

and offering often times the same

sacrifices which can never take away

sins but this man Jesus Christ after he

had offered one sacrifice for sins

forever set down on the right hand of

God from henceforth expecting till his

enemies be made his foot sto

by the way every enemy of yours is an

enemy of

his but by one offering he ha perfected

forever them that are Sanctified whereof

the Holy Ghost also is a witness to us

for after that he has said before this

is the Covenant that I will make with

them after those days sayith the Lord I

will put my laws into their hearts and

their and in their minds will I write

them and their sins and iniquities will

I remember no

more now where remission of these is

there’s no more offering for sin having

therefore Brethren boldness to enter

into the holiest by the blood of Jesus

by a New and Living Way which Heath

consecrated for us through the veil that

is to say his flesh and having a high

priest over the house of God let us draw

near with a True Heart in full Assurance

of Faith having our hearts sprinkled

from an evil conscience and our bodies

washed with pure water we have a high

priest who is touch with the feet of our

infirmities we have a merciful high

priest a merciful high

priest here in Hebrews we

learn that we have Christ as our one and

only high priest he alone is atoned for

our sins and he he is saying to us my

ministers to cleanse you to forgive you

to keep you to give you all the mercy

and Grace you ever need why would he say

come boldly to my

throne come boldly to your high priest

and you ask me for mercy and Grace and

I’ll give you all that you need I’ll

give it to you

Hallelujah but then the

writer look at Hebrews stay with Hebrews

there the 10th chapter I want to show

you something this shocked me when I saw

it and and and it it it shows us the

very sin that Uzziah was guilty of

here the writer gives a powerful warning

verse 26 beginning to read for if we sin

willfully after that we’ve received the

knowledge of the truth there remaineth

no more sacrifice for sins but a certain

fearful looking for of judgment and

fiery indignation which shall Devour the

adversaries he that despised Moses law

died without Mercy under two or three

Witnesses of how much sore punishment

suppose ye shall he be thought worthy

who trodden underfoot the Son of God and

has counted the blood of the Covenant

where withth he was Sanctified and holy

thing and it’s done despite under the

spirit of Grace for we know that he has

said Vengeance belong unto me I will

recompense say the Lord and again the

Lord shall judge his people now look at

me please that scripture has been so uh

misinterpreted so misunderstood let me

tell you how I believe the holy spirit

is opening that to

me listen very it has to do with the sin

of Uzziah it has to do with trying to

take the priesthood into your own hand

and the meaning is this the the Lord

said you’ve received the knowledge of

Christ High priesthood if you don’t rest

on the blood his sacrifice there’s no

other way your sacrifice is not going to

be accepted there’s no other sacrifice

you

see Uzziah is trying to come without

blood he’s trying to bring his own

sacrifice there’s no power without the

blood there is no other way but through

the blood

and that’s what this passage is all

about it’s saying if you do not rest in

the blood in his sacrifice if you

attempt to be your own high priest

you’re resisting sin and the power of

the flesh you’re bringing to the Lord

your own fire your own energy you’re

bringing your own good works you’re

bypassing the priesthood High priesthood

your offering is

unacceptable the whole thing is about

the offering that we bring to him that

whether we’re not whether we are

honoring the sacrifice of our high

priest there’s none other right and he

says you you go any other way you don’t

despite to the blood you consider it

you’re considering an Unholy thing

you’ve done despite to the spirit of

Grace he said you’re dis despising my

Grace by trying to bring something to me

of your own making of your own doing of

your own

energy you understand folks we have

people that that say but Brother D

surely all my all my works all these

years surely they have to count for

something all my you mean my striving my

effort doesn’t

count we have some people I mean they

are making god promise after

promise there are people afraid to go

out of their house they will lock

themselves into their house for a whole

week trying to get victory over some

problem they know they’re going to hit

if they hit the street

there are people that literally uh if

they have a problem in New York a

certain street that temps them they want

to move to Atlanta Georgia to get away

from a street here in New York down in

village and all of the ways we strive

and connive and try if I can just get

away from that source of Temptation if

if I can just go over here remember we

said wherever you wherever you go there

you are

no no no no God says not only do I not

accept that I’m telling you you’re

despising my grace when you try that

you’re despising my way you’re trying to

bypass the priesthood of your

savior is anybody beginning to see what

I’m talking

about h

you count the blood of the Covenant on

holy unworthy thing you insult Christ

your high priest because of your attempt

to bring your energy in your censor

before my

Throne

H how many of this church have heard

your pastors preach about deliverance

from all of these things and you able to

sit here and say I’m so glad I’m not

that way but I the warning I bring to

you is

this at any time I don’t care how long

you’ve live with God I don’t care how

strong you are at any time the enemy can

come in like a flood the enemy can come

in with a flood and you can just

suddenly sit there folks there have been

times I sit right there in that seat the

enemy just tries to bombard me with evil

thoughts I don’t know where they come

from now I know that’s the flesh and I

know it’s the devil so I don’t let it

bother me I I don’t get scared of it I’m

never surprised by my flesh anymore I

told you that and I said that’s flesh AC

devil you trying to act on my flesh I

don’t care about that I I am under the

blood of Jesus I don’t accept it and I’m

not going to worry about it I’m not

going to think about

it but you see I I I could run out there

and go in the back and fall on my face

and chist oh God what kind of man am I

Lord

please I’ll preach in a half hour I need

a half hour to get

washed I have to have a half hour to get

the feeling of being clean again no no

no no that’s not Faith that’s not

trusting in the priesthood of Jesus

Christ my Lord I am under the

blood let him

rage I go to the blood

i’ go to my high priest he’s been

through all this he was in the desert he

had 40 days and nights of

it

Hallelujah you say well doesn’t the

Bible said we’re all Kings and Priests

unto the Lord Revelation 610 and youve

made us unto our God Kings and Priests

yes on this condition we are priest unto

him not to man unto him we are priest on

we’re not high priests we are priest to

minister to him we bring our sacrifice

and offerings of praise to him we are

priest only to Jesus Christ not to one

another I’m not a priest to myself I’m a

priest to Christ to minister to him only

keep that in mind we’re we’re called to

serve him night and day in his Temple

the Bible

says wherefore in all things it behooved

him to be made like under his Brethren

that he might be a merciful and faithful

high priest in things pertaining to God

to make reconciliation for the sins of

the people for in that he himself has

suffered being tempted he’s able to

comfort and sucer them that are

tempted oh Hallelujah he walked in my

shoes he knows what I go through and

he’s touched and he breathed life into

my soul

hallelujah it’s not enough to see him as

being your high priest you’ve got to see

him as your

merciful comforting high priest

hallelujah our high priest is

not wanting to hold back forgiveness the

Bible says for thou Lord are good and

ready to forgive your plenteous in Mercy

unto all them that call upon thee and I

went through this and Everywhere I Go it

it doesn’t say he’s Merc say he’s

plenteous in Mercy it’s not Grace it’s

plenteous Grace it’s not love is

plenteous love the scripture said the

Lord is merciful and Grace slow anger

and plenteous in Mercy Psalms 137 hope

in the Lord for with the Lord there’s

mercy and with him is plenteous

redemption every everything is plenteous

more than

enough more than

sufficient you look at the end of of

Uzziah

and in in chapter 26 verse 18- 21 behold

he was leprous in his forehead and they

thrust him out from f y himself hasted

also to go out and what is the scripture

trying to tell us he himself went

out folks when when when you go in to

God’s presence trying to make yourself

Holy by

vows by striving In the

Flesh you’re going to find out

that when you get into the holy presence

of

God somewhere somehow leprosy is going

to break out the sin’s going to break

out just when you thought you had

something to give to God when you

thought you were on top you thought you

had the victory leprosy breaks out and

then you realize how weak you are you

realize you are not a high priest and

you run a lot of people run from God

just like like Uzziah this he runs out

of the temple yeah he himself went out

he went out because he knew was in his

heart now is showing

outwardly but you know when you this

whole story wraps up in an incredible

way if you go with me to Isaiah Isaiah

the 6th

chapter ye shall know the truth and the

truth shall set you free

hallelujah praise the Lord you Isaiah 6

now folks you’ve got to understand that

Isaiah loved this King he was he was a

friend he was a counselor he loved this

man it it had to break his heart when he

heard that this man went in and tried to

make himself the high priest folks can

you understand how how it must have

impacted Isaiah to see this man waste

away in a a leper uh infirmary he spent

his last two years evidently in an

infirmary and you said well how do you

how do you get these years because his

son came to power when he was 25 you

have to put your put the numbers to it

and you’ll find out that it was he spent

at least two years in this infirmary

before he died and Isaiah watches his

beloved King waste away and finally die

Uzziah is dead now and listen to Isaiah

6 beginning verse one in the year the

king Uzziah died I saw also the Lord

sitting upon a throne high and lifted up

and his train filled the temple above it

stood the seraphim each one had six

wings with TW he covered his face with

20 covered his feet with 20 did fly one

Cried unto another and saying holy holy

holy is the Lord of hosts the whole

earth is full of his glory now look at

me

please Isaiah now he he sees what

happens in the flesh when you try to

bring flesh in the presence of

God now Isaiah is able to claim there’s

only one high priest and I’ve seen him

there’s only one high priest it’s not

Uzziah it’s not our King it’s not flesh

it’s not mankind it’s not in our power

it’s not we have a king high and lifted

up we have a high priest now he sees him

he’s a prophet prophetically you

remember the Bible says the rock they

drank from in the wilderness was Christ
