Welcome to our Friday’s broadcast of the

Gospel truth today is the end of my

fourth week of teaching on the war is

over that’s what I’ve entitled uh this

teaching from Luke chap 2:14 where the

Angels were singing Glory to God in the

highest and on Earth peace Good Will

towards men peace from God towards men

the war is over and I’ve got this 200

plus page book that goes into more

detail I’ve got a brief summary of it

entitled good will towards men we’re

offering this little booklet as a free

so much that there’s no way I can

summarize it all but one of the things

I’ve done is I’ve talked about the

Forgiveness of God and how that he

placed all of our Jud all of his

judgment against our sin Upon Jesus and

Jesus reconciled us unto God that leads

to some people thinking well then it

doesn’t matter if we go live in sin or

not and Paul brought this up four

different times in his writings I made

reference of this earlier in the week I

want to go back and add some things to

this but in Romans chapter 6 after Paul

had been preaching for five chapters

about how that it’s just the grace of

God it’s not our performance we aren’t

saved by our good works we’re saved by

putting faith in Jesus good works that

he did for us and after he had made

these things the question comes up in

Romans chapter 6 verse1 what shall we

say then shall we continue in sin that

Grace May abound and the answer to that

is a resounding in verse two God

forbid and he gives two reasons here in

Romans chapter 6 why you don’t live in

sin now I’ve already mentioned this but

I’m going to add to it I’m just going to

go back and refresh your memory on this

if you happen to have watched those

programs but the first reason he gives

for living a holy life for a person

who’s born again is because your Nature

has been changed

and he goes into great explanation on

that in the first 11 verses of Romans

chap 6 you don’t sin you don’t live in

sin anymore because God has changed your

desire and you’ve got a new

nature did you know before you get born

again you have a sinful nature that

compels you to sin matter of fact that’s

what the previous verses in Romans

chapter 5 were talking about that

through one man Adam sin entered into

the world and then death passed upon all

men for all that have sinned but it says

through one man sin entered into the

world it’s not your individual sins that

made you a sinner it’s your sin nature

that made you commit those individual

sins man that is a powerful statement

and in the same way that before you got

born again you had a nature that Drew

you compelled you toward sin now that

you are born again now that you’ve made

Jesus your personal Lord you have a new

nature that is compelling you to live

holy now again there’s not every person

who is Born Again does live holy but a

lot of it’s because of wrong teaching

Jesus said You shall know the truth and

the truth shall make you free in John

8:32 and a lot of Christians don’t know

the truth a lot of Christians are living

under religious deception that keeps

them uh servants to sin matter of fact

let me use a verse right here in Romans

6 and verse1 14 it says for sin shall

not have dominion over you for you are

not under the law but under grace you

can turn this around and be consistent

with what it’s saying that if sin is

having dominion over you even as a born

again Christian it’s because you are

under the law and not under grace the

grace of God doesn’t set us free to sin

it sets us free from sin it breaks the

Dominion of sin but sad to say a lot of

Religion Today a lot of religious

Christianity is still preaching the Old

Testament law which makes sin come alive

Romans chapter 7 1 Corinthians chapter

15 verse 56 the strength of sin is the

law and on and on you could go saying

things the law actually made sin come

alive and Revive on the inside of us and

if you are living under a a

religious uh Old Testament law

performance-based

Christianity then you are still being

dominated by sin this says that sin

shall not have dominion over us why

because we aren’t under the law but

under grace if you’re still under law

then sin will have dominion over you but

if you can truly understand this when

you get born again your nature was

changed and it set you free from sin and

then a second reason that he gave

in chapter 6 is in verse 16 know ye not

that to whom you yield yourself servants

to obey his servants you are to whom you

obey whether of sin unto death or of

obedience unto righteousness whoever you

yield to if you yield a Holiness then

you are yielding to God and you’re

allowing that nature that God put on the

inside of you to have dominion and to

flow out through you and it facilitates

the power of God working in your life

but if you yield to sin God God still

loves you it doesn’t change his attitude

towards you but it changes your attitude

towards him and it gives Satan a direct

inroad into your life to steal to kill

and to destroy so if you go live in sin

God is still going to love you but you

are going to give Satan an opportunity

to hold you back to steal your health to

steal your prosperity to steal your joy

and peace and things like that so here’s

the second reason the second reason you

don’t live in sin is because we have an

AB the devil who’s going about seeking

whom he may devour and if you give him

an inch he’ll take a mile so those are

the two previous uh things that I’ve

talked about out of Romans chapter 6

about why you don’t live in sin Let me

just go on down for time sake I’m going

to have to jump into this but in verse

20 it says for when you were the

Servants of sin you were free from

righteousness now think about what this

is saying when it’s talking about when

you were a servant of sin the word word

for Servant here is the Greek word dulos

and it means slave when you were a slave

to sin you were free from righteousness

this is talking about before you got

born again you were free from

righteousness what does that mean free

from righteousness is this meaning that

you couldn’t do anything that was right

is this saying that a person that

doesn’t know the Lord can’t do any good

work man I see things all the time about

people that don’t know the Lord and yet

they have some compassion on somebody

they see people that are you know Str

struggling with some kind of a sickness

or disease or they see people that are

in poverty and they reach out and help

them or they see these tragedies that

are happening in third world countries

people dying from starvation and they

want to go help build a water well dig a

water well or do something is this

saying that a person who’s not born

again can’t do any of these good things

certainly not a lost person can do good

things a lost person can help people but

what this means is that before you’re

born again all of your good works that

you do don’t change that nature that

nature is still separated from God and

your good actions don’t make you

good man that’s important you know you

can relate this uh to animals that

people take dogs and they they U you

know shampoo them and put bows in their

hair and paint their toenails and teach

them how to roll over and to sit down

and to beg and do things and they call

them members of the family and I can

understand that to a degree I’ve had

dogs that that uh you know I loved and

and really was sad when they died I can

I’m not criticizing that but I’m saying

they’re still dogs some people think

that no they aren’t a dog anymore no

they are a dog and if you leave them

alone that dog need nature will come out

if you quit giving them positive

reinforcements and negative punishment

every time they do something wrong I

guarantee you you can be you can change

their behavior to a degree but you can’t

change their nature all of those actions

putting a bow in their hair painting

their toenails doing all of these things

teaching them tricks it may make them

look like they’re different but the

truth is they’re still a dog and it’s

the same thing with us you can take

people who don’t know the Lord that

their nature is separated from God and

you can get them to do some good things

and to help people help little old

ladies across the street or to do

something but I guarantee you their

nature is still a sinful nature so this

is what it’s saying before you’re born

again when you were a servant of sin you

were free from righteousness you could

do right things but those right things

couldn’t change your nature you were

still free you were separated ated from

that righteous nature but then it goes

on to say in the next verse it says in

verse 21 what fruit had ye then in those

things whereof you are now ashamed for

the end of those things is death and

then in verse 22 it says but now being

made free from sin and become servants

to God you have your fruit un Holiness

and the end everlasting life so look at

this in the just a couple of verses here

it uses the exact same terminology but

it applies it in the opposite direction

if in verse 20 it’s talking about while

you were the servant of sin if that was

referring to before you were born again

now in verse 22 it says now you have

become servants to God so this would be

talking about now that you are born

again once you make Jesus your personal

Lord you are now a servant of God and in

verse 20 it says you were free from

righteousness this meant that all the

good things that you did couldn’t make

you good you were by Nature a sinner and

separated from God and you couldn’t

change your Nature by the good things

that you did well if that’s what it

meant in verse 20 well in verse 22 it

means the same thing but apply it in the

opposite direction now it says but now

being made free from sin you become

servants to God so if you were free from

righteousness in verse 20 talking about

you could do good things but those good

things couldn’t change your nature now

in verse 22 it says you have become free

from sin this is saying that a Christian

can still sin and a Christian does sin

we come short of the things that God

wants us to be but those sins don’t

change our righteous nature anymore than

your good actions could change your

sinful

nature you know I think that most

Christians would accept this most

Christians see this and they say that

you can’t you can’t become a Christian

by just doing good things you have have

to be born again you have to humble

yourself and receive salvation as a gift

most Christians most Evangelical

Christians certainly would accept that

that’s the way that it is but then when

it comes to the other side that if you

couldn’t change your Sinful Nature by

your good works well then it also makes

sense and it’s right here in Scripture

that you can’t change your righteous

Nature by your sinful actions and yet

most Christians wouldn’t agree with that

most Christians would say oh no you lose

your right standing with God no this sin

God is going to affect uh it’s going to

affect your relationship with God well

sin does affect our relationship with

God in the sense that it’ll give Satan

an inroad and Satan is going to do his

best to hinder your relationship with

God and he’s going to bring guilt and

condemnation and all kinds of things to

you so sin does affect us but it doesn’t

affect us from God’s standpoint here’s

another way of trying to say what I’m

saying is that there’s a vertical and a

horizontal

relationship or consequence to sin

before you get born again sin was a

direct offense against God and Romans

6:23 the very next verse here says the

wages of sin is death but the gift of

God is eternal life and so there was a

vertical consequence to sin it was an

offense against God and because of it

God’s judgment his holy

his integrity was set against our sin

but when Jesus came Jesus Paid for our

sin and the effect that it had had

between us and God that’s what this

whole teaching that I’m doing is about

that the war is over God placed his

judgment Upon Jesus and he’s not going

to judge you and me for our sin because

he’s already judged Jesus so this

vertical effect of sin is taken care of

of God is no longer ticked off God is no

longer mad he’s not even in a bad

mood God has forgiven your sin past

present and even future sin but there’s

also a horizontal effect to sin even

though God’s judgment’s not going to

fall on you because of

sin Satan is going to take advantage of

any opportunity you give him to come

into your life and if you go live in sin

this horizontal effect of sin is Satan

will come in and he will wreck havoc in

your life and destroy you you know I

really believe that if for some reason I

was to just depart from the Lord and if

I was to start stealing money from the

ministry if I was to go commit adultery

or do something like that I believe that

God has already forgiven me and I don’t

believe that I would lose my salvation

over that I’ve never done those things

but I can name you some other people I’m

not going to call them by name but there

are specific people that I’m thinking

about one in particular that his income

was around $8 million a month in

Ministry he was reaching more people

than anybody else has ever reached on

television and he was preaching the

gospel and he was doing some good things

and he got caught in sexual sin and

because of it his ministry just

collapsed and to today my Ministry is

many times bigger than what his ministry

is today because of of the sin the sin

gave Satan an inroad and Satan just

destroyed him now he’s back on

television he has his own network and

he’s preaching the gospel and did you

know that God still loves him and that

God has not forsaken him the scripture

says that he’ll never leave us nor

forsake us it’s not based on our

faithfulness it’s based on God’s

faithfulness God still loves this man

and this man is still preaching the

gospel I watched him just recently on

television and he was preaching some

good things and God is using him to a

degree but he is just a fraction of what

he used to be not because God diminished

him not because God is punishing him and

is not using him anymore God is using

him to the degree that he will allow God

to use him but Satan came in and

destroyed this man’s Ministry and

destroyed his reputation Satan is the

one who caused all of this diminishing

of his ministry it wasn’t God that’s not

God who turned on him and so I

personally haven’t done those things but

based on what I’ve seen in other people

I believe that I could go out and sin

against God and God had still love me

but I would give Satan inroad into my

life you know I’m real outspoken on

things like homosexuality transgenderism

this this pedophilia where we are having

young people giving them hormone

blockers and sex reassignment surgery

and I’ve spoken out on all of these

things and I was talking to a friend of

mine not too long ago and saying it’s

just

amazing that I haven’t been just

attacked viciously now I have been

attacked and I’ve had some newspaper

articles written but I mean I’ve had

other ministers that have had much worse

things than this and death threats and

things like that against them and I

haven’t had this and I think one of the

reasons is because I am seeking God with

my whole heart I’m not giving Satan an

inroad into my life it’s hard for people

to come at me and criticize me and say

the reason you’re preaching Grace is so

that you can go out and indulge yourself

and live in sin and do these things

people just don’t have the same

opportunity to criticize me now I am

having opposition Satan is fighting me

all those who live Godly in Christ Jesus

shall suffer persecution but I’m not

giving Satan ammo to fire at me amen so

as much as I can I am living a holy life

and I am trying to do everything I can

to keep from giving Satan a direct

inroad into my

life but if I did God would still love

me but I would suffer because of it and

I just don’t want to go there I know

that Satan has no good plans for me he

he is going about seeking whom he may

devour he wants to devour he would love

to stop this ministry we’re reaching

over five billion people potential on a

daily basis sharing these gos this

gospel truth all around the world and

Satan would love to stop it if he could

but man I’m not going to cooperate with

him I’m going to resist him every way

that I can I’ve got a lot to lose not

from God God’s going to love me

regardless of what I

do that doesn’t make me want to go live

in sin that makes me want to serve him

even more I’m so thankful for what God

has done in my life that I don’t want to

disappoint him now he he’ll not reject

me he’ll not leave me but faith is what

pleases him and when I’m not living in

faith when I’m living in sin when I’m

living in unbelief that doesn’t please

God he doesn’t reject me over it but it

doesn’t please him and man I’m so

thankful for everything that he’s done

for me I want to glorify God with

everything I’ve got I want the rest of

my life to be just spent totally

praising God and giving glory to God I

don’t do it perfectly but that is my

desire and to the degree that I can I

don’t yield to the devil when I do yield

to the devil when I make a mistake man

I’m quick to repent of

it you know it was just a few years ago

that I’ve had a man do some things in a

meeting that I was in and it kind of

offended me I didn’t like it and I got

up in in a service and I didn’t call the

guy’s name but I talked about him and

used him as an example and basically

said some negative things about him that

I shouldn’t have said and did you know

his wife was in the service and boy she

came up afterward she didn’t talk to me

but she talked to some of my staff and

she was just in tears and when I

realized how that I had used my position

that God had given me and I was just

venting some things that I felt and

saying some negative things that were

totally unnecessary to it was wrong I

shouldn’t have done it man I felt

terrible and I went to this guy and

apologized to him I called him on the

phone and apologized and he was gracious

to me and accepted my apology and we’ve

stayed friends and he’s called me every

once a while and he’ll even joke

sometimes about the things that I’ve

said about him he’s been very gracious

to me but I tell you that that bothered

me the point I’m making is that here I

am 55 years into serving God with

everything I’ve got and I still mess up

and I still do things and my flesh gets

in the way and if I was just to relate

to God based only on my

performance then I guarantee you there

would still be this adversarial

relationship the war would still be on

God would still be angry at me because

of some of the things that I say and do

and the ways that I fail but man I have

come to a place in the Lord to where I

know that God accepts me not based on

what I’ve done but based on what Jesus

did and the only thing I had to do was I

put Faith In Jesus and I’ve become a

recipient of all of his righteousness

and all of his

performance and all of his goodness has

been laid to my account and that’s how

I’m relating to the Lord there are

people watching this program right now

that you know what I’m talking about and

you may have done things differently

than what I did you may have something

that you consider to be much much worse

than just talking about a person and

venting and saying some things that I

shouldn’t have said but it’s the same

principle it doesn’t matter what you’ve

done if you’ve truly been born again God

has already forgiven those sins past

present and even future sins God is not

bringing this vertical relationship he’s

not bringing his his wrath on your sin

he put his wrath upon Jesus and now all

you got to worry about is that

horizontal relationship you got to worry

about Satan taking advantage of your

sins and if you recognize that then

repent and turn from it and take this

forgiveness it’s already in your Born

Again spirit and release it into your

soul and into your body and praise God

you can walk free from Satan’s

Dominion I want to thank you for
