In Week 7 of our series The Upgrade, we learned about Being Filled with the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit changes us fundamentally in three different ways. The way we walk, talk and act are all changed by the Holy Spirit. We were created to be filled with the Holy Spirit, what are you filling yourself with?

the executive pastors here at tc
we are so honored that you’ve decided to
join us today
get your phone your notebook whatever it
is that you take notes with and get
ready for today’s message
i am so excited to be here with you all
whether you are here or there both near
and far
i believe god has a word for us today
[Applause]
we’ve been in this series talking about
the holy spirit and god has been doing
some incredible things
i just want to give a shout out and
honor pastors mike
and natalie todd
the grace that god has placed
on this man’s life and on this woman’s
life
to literally represent christ
to the lost and found for transformation
in
christ it’s just absolutely amazing i’m
so honored to be a part
of transformation nation uh in
everything that god is doing
literally around the world i’m i’m so
excited i just got to start
[Applause]
are y’all ready though cause
all right all right i want to go to the
word of god i want to read some
i want to read some verses and then i
just need to dive
into what god gave me today the book of
ephesians chapter number five
the book of ephesians chapter number
five i’m starting from the 15th verse
i’m reading from the new living
translation of the bible
ephesians chapter number five starting
at the 15th
verse if you’re ready to grow say let’s
grow
if you’re ready to grow say let’s grow
if you’re ready to gross and let’s grow
15th verse here’s what it says nlt so be
careful how you
live period
don’t live like fools
but like those who are wise make the
most of
every opportunity in these evil days
don’t act thoughtlessly but understand
what the lord wants you to do
don’t be drunk with wine because that
will ruin your life
instead be filled with the holy spirit
singing psalms and hymns and spiritual
songs
amongst yourselves and making music to
the lord
in your hearts and give thanks to
everything
give thanks for everything to god the
father
in the name of our lord jesus
christ that’s just good stuff right
there all right i need you to pay close
attention to the 18th verse though
the 18th verse says this don’t be drunk
with wine
because that will ruin your life instead
be filled with the holy spirit
say it again don’t be drunk with wine
because that will ruin your life
instead be filled
with the holy
spirit if you’re taking notes on this
message only got two words for you today
and those two words are be filled
that’s what we’re talking about today be
filled by yourself with the word shall
we holy spirit fill
us amen
sin let’s go
so i’m i’m the type of person that when
i get an instruction from the bible i
like to obey it
when you hear a commandment like be
filled it gets me to thinking about
all the things that god has
filled to give us an indication
of his glory now this is going to take
us all the way back to the book of
genesis
chapter number one when the holy spirit
is first introduced he is hovering over
the face of the deep
and the reason why he’s hovering is
because he has nothing to inhabit
god only regard resides in structure
so any time you see the holy spirit
hovering is because there is no
structure
for him to dwell in
as god begins to create
the holy spirit begins to animate
he begins to
make the things that god spoke into
existence come to life
and all the things that he creates
he also feels he creates
galaxies and fills them with stars
and planets he creates the earth and he
fills it with fish
and vegetation and life
stock and humans he
he’s a filler god can’t help but to feel
anything that he creates because as the
creator
it has no meaning or significance
without his presence being there
now here’s the thing after genesis
chapter number three which is the
fall of humanity through the
disobediences
of adam and eve there’s still
a feeling the feeling just becomes
completely different
and this is something that we have to
address today because from that
time until this time around 4 000 years
of human history from the creation
of adam and eve we still
have fillers
we are still a people looking to be
filled
we are still the people looking
to have something that fills us up
now uh if you’re in your 20s um you know
what this feels like
because you’re broke and um you don’t
have a lot of money
and and so uh most fast food places
are trying to fill you up on the cheap
and so for you know maybe like 99 or
1.99 you can have like
five items on the menu
because they’re just trying to fill you
up
media is filled with content
to fill up your time social media
is filled with content to fill up
your time music is filled with beats and
lyrics
to fill up your emotions
your relationships are there
to try to fill you up with something but
isn’t it amazing
that it doesn’t last
that all of these things that i just
mentioned whether it be food or
entertainment
or relationships or any of these
connections none of them
are permanent you have to be
filled again anybody ever ate something
and you ate so much that you had to push
back from the table
maybe thanksgiving is that day for y’all
where you literally push back from the
table you’re like i can’t eat
oh god it hurts i can’t eat another
thing
two hours later you back at it like
crack addicts right yummy you right back
at it
because even though you got filled you
needed to be filled
again no matter how
good it was how good it
felt how good you experienced it
you needed it again
now this is this is going to cause some
tension for me
because when i start thinking about what
the apostle paul wrote
i’m a little bit curious now for some
context
the book of ephesians was written by
paul in prison
so i just need you to have that context
to let you know that you can be going
through the worst season of your entire
life
and you can still encourage yourself and
others
even though things are not going well
for you i don’t know who needs to hear
this right now
but anytime you look at a prison letter
like it was written by the apostle paul
and he’s encouraging other people that
lets you know
that you don’t need to have everything
going right in your life
in order to praise god you don’t need to
have your bank account
filled in order to praise god you don’t
need your gas tank
filled in order to praise god you need
to have all of your life goals filled
in order to praise god you can praise
them
in the middle of your circumstance and
your trial
and your test wherever you are right
now that’s what i love about the prison
letters
the prison letters of paul give you this
indication that everything doesn’t have
to be right
for it to be right yes sir everything
doesn’t have to be good
for it to be good everything doesn’t
have to be fixed
for it to be fair everything doesn’t
have to be welded for it to be weld
wow paul
pins this letter from behind bars
to a group of people that just needed to
be encouraged
by the ministry that he started in
ephesus
it’s his third missionary journey so he
has already done some laps
around this area and he comes back and
he goes
i there’s something i need y’all to know
you need to live your life right you
just
you need to live the type of
that other people are attracted to be a
nice
person calm down
be the person that reflects jesus
to people in a way that makes them
attracted to the jesus
that you talk about
i i don’t want you to be thoughtless in
the way that you carry yourself around
and then paul makes this statement
in this statement coming from a
theologian is kind of random
the comparison seems absolutely
disrespectful
because um paul is
a very smart man he’s an
intellectual he’s the type of person
that actually should have stayed in
jerusalem to preach the gospel
because that’s where all the leaders of
the sanhedrin and the and the pharisees
were
but god actually makes him go to the
gentiles
where his doctorate of divinity would be
null and void
you would think that god would have took
paul and strategically placed him with
the other thought leaders of his day
to make sure that they understood what
god wanted to say
but no god sends paul to the gentiles
he leaves peter with the theologians
the dumb fisherman
the one that couldn’t cut it in any
rabbi circle
the one that was told to go to work with
your father because you cannot handle
a rabbinical yoke he’s told to stay with
the smart people and then
paul who is smart is told to go to the
people that don’t even have a
relationship with god the gentiles those
without a covenant
isn’t it amazing that god always does
this kind of a switch
that he will use the foolish scenes to
confound the wise
so that one person won’t get glory for
what they know
and the other person can’t get haughty
about what they don’t know

paul is writing to
these ephesians and he’s trying to get
them to understand
the importance of the holy spirit
what we’ve just spent weeks talking
about
here at transformation church paul was
doing the same thing
in his letter to the ephesians and he
makes this comparison
that seems disrespectful if you’ve been
following the series and you’ve been
hearing the teaching that pastor mike
has been doing then you know that the
holy spirit’s not a thing
it’s not an it it’s a person
and he is not just a person he is god
and so paul makes this this analogy that
just seems it just seems lower than
god he says don’t be
drunk with wine because that will ruin
your life
instead
be filled with the holy spirit now come
on paul
just just wait a minute real quick out
of all the comparisons you can make
to describe god the holy spirit
you chose some liquor
sir you are rude
who does this out of all the analogies
that could have been used you decide to
use
a bottle of wine and then say instead of
this
be filled with god
the holy spirit don’t be drunk with wine
instead be filled
with the holy spirit now
i don’t think this is by mistake
paul’s a smart dude he knows
that that what was given at the
beginning was
god speaking in the book of genesis and
filling
everything up with his creativity and
his power and his glory
in genesis chapter number two he gives
an instruction to the first humans he
says here’s what i want you to do
i want you to be fruitful and to
multiply and subdue
and to replenish i want you to dominate
the earth
fill it up with my glory
manage the glory that i give you
everything that i give you i want you to
manage it as if it was me
down there but it’s you you didn’t
create anything but you get to keep
everything that i’ve created and make it
look good so it can continue to give me
glory
this is this instruction
is is is tense for some people
because we got people in church that you
know no i don’t touch no alcohol
praise the lord you know i don’t ever
get drunk you know
uh but but but i love the holy spirit
and that’s cool but
but there’s something about this about
this comparison that i think we need to
examine
he says don’t be drunk with wine because
that will ruin your life can i just
pause and say
anybody in here ever been drunk
just go ahead if you in the chat right
now just put the hand up
in the chat like literally have you ever
been and i’m not talking about like
you know like who i feel nice and toasty
i mean has have you ever been faded is
that the right word
have you ever been faded have you ever
been bent
have you ever been so gone
that you don’t even remember the day
before
anybody some of y’all remembering right
now y’all like you know what i didn’t
know you was gone
i had no idea that she was about to like
talk about it like that
has anybody ever woke up after being
drunk
and didn’t know what happened the next
day and hope it was in film
praise the lord that i you know the days
i was growing up technology wasn’t
popping like this
okay but but i just want you to think
about it
why would paul use something like
drunkenness
to compare to the holy spirit

somebody say be filled now now there’s
something i want to say
before i show you something
everybody listening to me right now
everybody that is in this room right now
is filled with something
i’m talking to you you are filled
with something right now
here’s the misconception the
misconception is that you’re
you go through seasons where you’re
empty and then there’s seasons when
you’re filled
but the truth of the matter is you’ve
never been empty
you’ve always been filled with something
and and i need to address what you’re
filled with today
because the the the the the reading that
we had said be
filled it wasn’t a suggestion it’s a
commandment
[Music]
it says don’t be drunk with wine be
filled it doesn’t say may i suggest to
you
it doesn’t say uh uh may i recommend
something to you he literally says
do not be drunk with wine instead be
filled so
um i used to be a young adult pastor
and uh i was a young adult pastor for
four years
and uh you know pastor mike and i we
actually talked about this series uh in
the fourth quarter of last year
and he started telling me that he’s
about to do this spirit this holy spirit
series and i got so excited about it
and i began to recollect on the
three-month series that i did on the
holy spirit
as a young adult pastor in my 30s
we were putting in work i didn’t care
like we had 25 year olds in there and 18
year olds in there i’m like y’all about
to get this work
and i did a three-month series on the
holy spirit starting from
genesis chapter number one the holy
spirit brooding over the face of the
deep and i walked him all the way
through the old testament
into the new testament and i’m like yo
the holy spirit
is amazing and you all need to be filled
with him and so
we got to uh what was going to be the
crescendo the the the night that we were
gonna
uh have this this service and i was
gonna teach on the holy spirit and then
i was gonna invite people to be
filled with the holy spirit
and i had all my my notes and and i had
been studying
for like four days straight for hours
and hours and
and connecting all of these dots and
through scripture and i was about to lay
it out so that everybody could
understand exactly what god was saying
to them
and i got in the car on that friday
night
and i put the car in reverse and i began
to back up
and the holy spirit said hey tim that
message you’re about to preach
no that’s not it
and i was like really because
you could have told me this
like four days ago yeah when i was
studying
hard for you he said don’t do that
message
that message is about to bring so much
confusion they’re not going to get what
you’re trying to say
i said okay he said i need you to go to
the liquor store
and i need you to buy a bottle of vodka
and i was like the devil is a lie
like this ain’t god this got to be the
devil right now
like there’s no way god is telling me to
go to the liquor store and buy a bottle
of vodka he said will you please go to
liquor store and buy the bottle of vodka
he said you’ve never been drunk in your
whole life sir this is not a temptation
go to the liquor store so i drive
downtown dallas
in the opposite direction of the church
because i don’t want to get caught out
there i’ve never been to a liquor store
like this
and so i didn’t want to walk in and and
then see somebody from the church
and make eye contact because then that’s
just awkward if you’re just like walking
in and be like
praise the lord oh my god i didn’t owe
you two i didn’t know
what do you get i don’t you have any
recommendations
don’t you sit on the third row at the 11
o’clock service
what are we doing in here together
so i go to this uh i go to this liquor
store that’s across the street from a
bail bonds
place that’s across the street from the
county jail i just thought if anybody’s
down there
they’ll be in jail and not in the liquor
store so i went to the liquor store
and i got to buy vodka and i put it in a
brown bag
because that’s what i saw them doing
movies
[Applause]
and i drove up to the church and i was
like this is going to be the analogy i
guess i mean i
think this is it
and so um i went and got a bottle of
vodka
[Music]
because um
there’s something to be said about this
bottle of vodka
now it’s sealed i need to say that up
front
this is sealed no one’s been in here
it’s not down here okay i mean it’s
sealed sealed it has never been opened
okay
um but this is a bottle of vodka
and um
vodka is
referred to as a spirit
and people
that partake of this spirit
they are affected by this spirit
if you were to get filled with this
spirit
let me put it this way there is no one
that could drink this entire bottle of
vodka
and stay the same person
[Applause]
there is nobody in this room none of you
all that are watching could hold your
liquor so
good that you could drink this entire
bottle of vodka
and still be the same person
against your best judgment
against your best attempts if you got
filled with the spirit that’s in this
bottle
it would change the way that you walk
it would change the way that you talk
and it would change the way that you act
there is zero way
that you can drink what’s in this bottle
and stay the same
have you ever met someone under the
influence
of this type of spirit a person
under the influence of this type of
spirit
has behavioral changes that they can’t
even control
[Music]
a person under the influence of this
type of spirit
changes the way they talk in ways that
they would not
talk had they not been under this
influence
a person under the influence of this
type of spirit
is bolder than they ever would think
they would be
had they not been under this type of
spirit and so
here is the issue i have and this is why
this sermon is so important
to this entire holy spirit narrative
why do we have more respect for what’s
in this bottle
[Music]
why do we have more respect for what’s
in this bottle
than we do the person of the holy spirit
there’s nobody in here that would take
this to the head
and drink half of that bottle right now
the way that we would administer this is
with shot glasses
so that you can slowly control
what you are consuming if you went to a
bartender right now and said you want a
shot of this he would pull out
a tiny glass not a large glass
a tiny glass and go hit that off and
then come back if you want some more
hit this off and come back and see if we
want to do some more oh
let me just stop and pause for all the
people that take shots
who are you really shooting
for all those shots you take they are
impacting you in ways that you don’t
even know
now here’s my issue we have
hindered the conversation about the holy
spirit
inside of church and when we have talked
about the holy spirit
because we so desperately want to
control everything
that goes on in our church environments
we do not tell people to be
filled we take people to we tell people
to take sips
and so we we have been administering
little shot glasses of the holy spirit
oh that song blessed me i
felt the spirit but that’s enough now we
need to transition to service god bless
you we need to go on
we need to move on now we need to move
on hey wasn’t that a blessing oh
wasn’t that amazing oh that song was
great but
we got to move on now we can’t have
another shot of that
because our service has to be over in 65
minutes
we can’t have another shot of that
because you know if we have another shot
of that
uh uh then we might lose control of our
service today
and my sermon must be preached
i’m just i’m just wondering why
we would be so absolutely
into what’s in here but not be
absolutely submitted to
[Applause]
what’s coming from up there
so so so i got to give you some i got to
give you some points to this because i
got to give you some points to hang this
on okay
so so so the holy spirit changes us
fundamentally in three ways
the holy spirit changes us fundamentally
in three ways point number one please
write this down the holy spirit
changes the way we walk the reason why
this is so masterful the reason why paul
says
don’t be drunk with wine but instead be
filled with the holy spirit because what
he’s saying is
the holy spirit the person of the holy
spirit will do the same exact thing as
this
bottle of wine if you let him
he will change the way you walk
anybody ever seen somebody
filled with this spirit try to walk
ever seen somebody had to take a field
sobriety test
outside of the car cop says walk in a
straight line
10 feet it should be easy
the joke is like this
this will make your walk
crooked
will make your walk christ
i’ma say that again this will make you
walk
crooked the holy spirit will make you
walk
christ
[Applause]
not straight christ
you will start walking the way christ
walks
if you get filled with the holy spirit
you can’t do that taking a sip
the only way this changes the way you
walk
is to get enough of it in you
you can’t watch every seventh message
at transformation
and be transformed
you can’t stay disconnected from the
community from the body of christ
and still experience transformation
you you cannot be disconnected from the
body
and still expect god to do something in
and through you
it only comes when you stop sipping
and you start guzzling
i i i i’m married to a woman whose
father is a jamaican man and if the man
couldn’t do nothing else he could hold
his liquor
but after a certain amount no matter
how much his body had acclimated to it
if he had too much he couldn’t function
the way
he would like if he was sober
and so if you want your walk to change
you have to be filled the reason why
some of you all keep going back
to the stuff that you just walked out of
is because you are not filled
[Applause]
you just sipped
and if it’s one thing that grieves me in
the body of christ right now
it’s sipping saints
who off of a shot try to
live like their field
you’re slightly buzzed
[Music]
but buzz doesn’t change behavior
if you want your walk to change say it
with me
be filled point number two please write
this down oh this is so good
okay all right point number two please
write this down the holy spirit
changes the way
we talk the holy
spirit changes
the way we
talk once again
find me somebody that has been filled
with this spirit
i’ll show you somebody whose talk
has changed
you ever you you ever been around a
person
who got filled with this and you tried
to have a conversation with them
you know what i’m saying like the other
day when they came over they was like
we’re gonna come down with you but if
you try to come over there
it ain’t gonna be my matter no more
because they are the women
you remember though
and your aunt has to come in
and give you the interpretation of what
your uncle said
because she can understand his tongue
[Music]
don’t listen don’t listen to uncle billy
you know uncle billy
just talking about what he went through
when he was in the army again
every time he gets drunk he starts
talking about what he had went through
in the past
and stuff like that oh and that was just
this this changed his talk
but the holy spirit can’t change yours
[Music]
you remember the days where it was you
or somebody you knew
that got so drunk they couldn’t even
understand you can’t understand what
they were saying
you didn’t understand or remember what
you were talking about you can’t even
remember
what you sounded like unless somebody
else told you
but now you’re scared to speak in
tongues
i don’t want to speak in tongues because
i’m not in control i don’t even know i
don’t even know if i like
like saying some stuff that it just
feels disingenuous to me
i don’t feel like i i need to know what
i’m saying
you didn’t need to know when it was this
the holy spirit changes the way you talk
and pastor mike has already done an
incredible job talking about
what it is like when you allow the holy
spirit
to speak through you
but outside of tongues he should be
changing the way you talk
let me break this down okay holy spirit
hold on he should be changing what you
post
i felt that thing right there i don’t
know who that was for
but when you get filled with the holy
spirit you stop saying what you want to
say
and you start saying what he wants you
to say and what he wants you to say
don’t
sound like that clapback that you’re
used to giving
what he wants to say does not sound like
that rebuttal that you want to give that
that that post that you want to send
that dm that you want to
throw out there he changes the way you
talk
he changes the way your comm you
communicate because when you get filled
with something else
you are no longer in control
when paul says be filled in in in uh
uh ephesians chapter number five verse
number 18. uh
this word in the greek the connotation
of it is
to dominate we’re not just talking about
feeling something out
we’re talking about dominating the thing
what happens when somebody drinks
this is that this starts to dominate
them
absolutely wow that’s good
absolute domination takes place when
someone gets
filled with something like this
why is paul making the comparison
because what he’s saying is
if you were to give your life to the
holy spirit and allow him to fill you
you would be absolutely dominated
by his values by his
fruits by his spirit by his
character by his behavior by everything
that’s in him
it’ll be coming out of you so you’ll
start forgiving people that you swore
you were going to hate
for the rest of your life
[Music]
you’ll start being generous to people
that you swore you were never going to
talk to again
you’ll start praying for people that
were hating on you instead of
talking about them like they were
talking about you why
because someone else is completely
dominating me
[Applause]
i don’t even know why i’m doing this
it’s what happens when you’re under the
influence i don’t even know how i’m
doing this i’m wow
people wind up getting drunk in there
they just out here
i don’t know you know what i don’t even
know why i’m out here like this right
now dog
i’m out here
and then you come to church and go i
want to stay
here
i don’t you know i don’t raising my
hands all the way up that just seems
like it’d be embarrassing
saying amen verbally like they all
saying it so they
hey man and like like really fully
submitting my life to christ and
reading my bible and listening to
worship music is kind of corny you know
i’m saying it
it don’t have that knock like the other
stuff that i’m listening to why
because the enemy is trying to fill you
with something
let me just pause and say
all of us are filled with something yeah
the reason why this message is is so
focused on the feeling
is because we were created to be
filled and if you’re not
filled with the holy spirit you’re going
to be filled with something else
there’s nobody walking around empty
one of the biggest misconceptions is
that humans have been
so empty and they need jesus to fill
them up the truth of the matter is
you are already filled with something
wow
we are desperately imploring you to be
filled with something else
don’t be filled with wine because that
will ruin your life
be filled with the holy spirit don’t be
filled with shame
because that will ruin your life be
filled with the holy spirit
don’t be filled with hate because that
will ruin your life
be filled with the holy spirit don’t be
filled with low self-esteem
because that will ruin your life be
filled with the holy spirit
don’t be filled with lust because that
would ruin your life
be filled with the holy spirit don’t be
filled with suicidal thoughts that will
ruin your life
be filled with the holy spirit listen
i’m talking to somebody in here
we trading what you filling up with
[Applause]
we’re not trying to convince you to be
filled because you’re empty we’re trying
to convince you to be filled because you
filled
with the wrong things
be filled
with the holy spirit
[Music]
point number three number three get this
get this get this point number three
okay
be filled with the holy spirit because
it changes the way you walk
be filled with the holy spirit because
it changes the way you talk be filled
with the holy spirit because the holy
spirit changes the way we act
change the way you walk change the way
you talk
change the way you act i have seen
people
feel with this spirit
act in ways that they would never act
if they were sober
i have seen the shyest people
turn into the boldest people
after just a few hits
of a natural spirit i’m talking about
shy people
reserved people that that would never
act out never act unseemly
who literally just go ah
that’s not me i would never do that
and they get filled and i’m talking they
they get reckless quick
they start talking crazy
like who who is you
i will knock you
ouch little girl like 5-1
i will kill you son
today if you say something else
by my best friend we came here to have a
good time
not you stay away from us or i will kill
you
today it’s the shyest person and they’re
like monica
monica we’re so sorry monica just monica
over there
trying to fight that’s not how she is
when she’s not under the influence
only when she gets filled does she act
that way
we call it in the streets liquid courage
perhaps the reason why we don’t see
courage in the body of christ right now
[Applause]
perhaps the reason why we don’t see
people bolder in their faith right now
is because we have too many sober saints
that are in the body of christ when we
need
filled up saints that are ready to step
into the purposes
and the plans of god and do what he has
called them
to do the way that he called them
to do it
[Applause]
make no mistake why a place like
transformation
has been has become so intoxicating to
the world
maybe we shouldn’t be trying to analyze
the instagram account
and the youtube subscriptions and maybe
we should ask
where can i get a bottle
of what you got where can i get filled
with what you got filled with can you
point me to the bartender
that is serving those drinks i’ll have
what he’s having i don’t know who i’m
talking to
i’ll have what she’s having
they look like they’re having a good
time i want to have
what they’re having
[Applause]
and so as the apostolic elder of this
house
i want to speak to the haters
because mike’s too nice to talk to you
he won’t address you he ignores you
but it doesn’t mean that he doesn’t hear
you so i want to say it’s his covering
that you’re looking at the wrong thing
and you’re talking about him but you can
have exactly what he has
you may not have it on his scale because
god can only trust you
what he can trust you with but he only
has what he has
because he stays filled it has
nothing to do with slick media it has
nothing to do with his instagram account
it has something to do with the
bartender that he’s getting his drink
trunk
and because he’s filled we are filled
and you are filled and they will be
filled and we represent
and we transform because we have
[Applause]

and you can be too
when you get filled you stop hating
when you get filled when you stop
looking when you get filled you are
all so excited about what you are filled
up with
that you can’t pay attention to what’s
going on around you
i’ve never seen two drunk people compare
how drunk they are
i’m drunker than you right now you ain’t
as drunk as me right now
no you you find two people that are both
field
in the spirit they are both healed
they are both thrilled they are both
sealed
changes the way you act
how how how how can we act the way we
act
had it not been for us being filled yes
you you find a group of people
ready and willing to do whatever it
takes to get the message of jesus christ

instead of speaking hebrew
and aramaic they spoke
and syrian in languages that we would
know
chinese german
spanish with perfect diction
completely fluent and the people that
could get the revelation
said this has to be god
and the people that could not understand
or even have a context for it said
they must be drunk
to which peter has to respond
we ain’t drunk
nine o’clock in the morning is too early
for us to be drunk
but you did get something right
we’re filled

filled with the holy spirit

for some people to get filled with the
holy spirit

but i just want you to lift up your

the holy spirit is not falling on
denominations
he’s falling on nations

theological distinctive may be

i didn’t just start with the apostles in

for you not to experience i can still

that experience can happen right there

right there at your office you can be
filled
and you receive the holy spirit in the
same way you receive christ
you just ask them to come in
he may not do something
amazing and you may not have this
this
shiver in this in this in this in this
violent convulsion
that’s an emotion that people have to
the holy spirit
but it doesn’t mean it’s the actual holy
spirit
here’s what i’m telling you if you just
lift your hands
and ask them to come in he
will come

fill you

so i’m praying right now
for every person that’s watching for
every person that’s under the sound of
my voice
you can be filled right now

this bag is really nothing without
something in it
and if i’m being transparent and
vulnerable about my life
i’ve had a lot of stuff in my bag
i’ve had shame in my bag and promiscuity
in my bag and
and porn addiction in my bag and low
self-esteem in my bag and people
pleasing
in my bag i’ve never been empty
but when i gave my life to christ and i
opened up to the holy spirit
what i was filled up with

began to get emptied out

and i chose to allow
the spirit of god
to literally fill me up
now here’s the thing
the only thing people see is the bag
what they don’t see is the spirit in the
bag
and it’s the spirit in the bag christ
in me the hope of glory that allows me
to do
exceedingly abundantly above anything
i can ask or think according to the
power
that’s working on the inside of me when
we come to church

we get to let it out a little bit you go
to work
try to cover it up i’m trying to get us
to the point

if you can just push your flesh down
the spirit would do more through you i
feel this thing
some of y’all just got enough of jesus
showing
but you still got too much flesh around
for him to really operate in you the way
he needs to
you need to push that flesh
all the way down and let the spirit

i don’t know where you are right now but
but i want to make two calls i want to
make a call first to the believer
that hasn’t been a receiver
hear me i’m talking to the believer who
has not been a receiver

you believe in jesus have you received
the holy spirit since you believed

i just want you to open up and receive
holy spirit i pray that you would feel

with your spirit intoxicate them

spirit

that baptizes people in the holy spirit
and you can have them today
and so if you want to give your life to
jesus today
i just want to ask you two questions

would you be against giving me giving
him your life today

want to know would you be against giving
your life to jesus today if you’ve
answered no to that question
then what’s standing in the way of you
doing it
today making a commitment today with
your eyes wide open
would you accept him into your heart
would you be opposed
to letting jesus lead your life as lord
and savior
if you’ve answered no
then i hope that you would accept accept
my invitation
to give your life to jesus right now
