word many of you may know me as devon
franklin but today i am a messenger from
your future God has given me a glimpse
of your future and I have come back from
the future to report this one message
your future is still good
your future is still good some of you
been worried you have anxiety about the
future but I need you to know I am your
messenger today from the future and I’ve
got a word from the Lord
your future is still good go ahead right
now and type my future is still good
come on somebody my future is still good
my future is still good now you all may
think that I’m crazy
during this message because I might
repeat this statement many many times
why because I need this statement to get
deep down on the inside of your spirit
because some of you one of the reasons
why you have been in the end and
anger anxiety the frustration you’ve
been in recently is because you think
your future is not good you you have
concerns about what is yet to come and
as a result it’s the disrupting what is
which is the present but I am your
messenger today with the declaration
from the Lord your future is still good
the pandemic has not taken your future
the virus has not taken your future I
don’t know who I’m talking to right now
your future is still good let us get
into the word right now I want to I want
to teach today now you know it’s it’s a
different to preach virtually some i’ma
teach i’ma try to teach to take now if
it turns into some preaching the you
have to forgive me right so I want to
teach today on this idea that your
future is still good a few years ago in
this very building here at one la I
preached a sermon called back to the
future and and I think that this message
is almost like a sequel to that message
your future is still good and I want to
read a text in your hearing Isaiah 43
verse 18 and 19 says this forget the
former things forget the former things
do not dwell on the past
I repeat forget the former things do not
dwell on the past verse 819 Isaiah 43
that was verse 18 here’s verse 19 see I
am doing a new thing and then the
question is now it springs up do you not
perceive it the second part of 19 I’m
making a way in the desert and streams
in the wasteland I want to report again
your future is still good but how in the
world is our future connected to our
present and how is our present connected
to our past there are three different
types of time future is to time that
time to come the present the
that is and the past the time that was I
repeat there are three types of time
future the time to come the present the
time that is the past the time that was
now depending on how you handle the time
that was and what you do with the time
that is can disrupt or mag make the time
that is yet to come
so in the movie Back to the Future I’m
going to talk to my movie bus for a
minute
in this movie it’s one of my favorite
trilogies of all time most of you may
know I’m a producer that’s why I was
able to get in my time machine and go to
the future and bring back this message
for you okay and so in this movie in the
first installment there’s a main
character his name is Marty McFly and
his good friend is Doc Brown and Doc
Brown created a time machine and there
are these villains that were on their
way to get Doc Brown and Marty
accidentally found himself in the time
machine but as he was driving away what
happened the time machine took him back
in time about 30 years earlier to when
his parents were in high school now at
first it was pretty cool here he was
from the future having an experience in
the past and it was cool to be in the
past and to see the different parts of
the town before they changed to what he
knew but here is what happened his
mother a high school student began to
fall in love with him
thinking that he was someone for her
uh-oh we’ve got a problem what he
realized was that in order to fix his
present and get back to his future he
had to stop messing with his past
because if his parents never got
together he would have never been born
in the future so he worked it out so
that his parents would fall back in love
so he could get back to the future
because he realized there’s a price for
how long we stay in our past when the
text says forget the former things that
means you got to get out of your past
and get back
to the future some of you are still
worried about what you lost before the
pandemic and as a result the more you
stay in your past the more you disrupt
your present and the more you
potentially could be hurting and
endangering your future how do you get
back to the future today one of the
things that happens in that movie which
I find so fascinating is that there’s a
picture that Marty takes from the
present back to the past and in that
picture as he begins to meddle with his
past the picture begins to change I
don’t know who I’m talking to right now
but God has a picture for your future
and let me tell you your future looks
good but as you begin to meddle in your
past the picture potentially could start
to change you’ve got to know something
right now that your past is over
newsflash no matter how hard you try you
cannot change what has already happened
I gotta I gotta just pause right here
because some of us have a hard time
letting go or accepting what is already
happened too often and I’m guilty of
this too y’all listen I have the t-shirt
in the Hat to tell you the dangers of
meddling in our past there have been
some times before you know Megan and I
we’ve been married for eight years but
before you know her and I got together
there was a someone I had dated in the
past and to be honest with you they
broke my heart right anybody else up
there head out but broken heart come on
please don’t leave me out here by myself
come on who am I talking to right now
anybody out there ever had your heart
broken real good where you just you know
you just cried you didn’t know what to
do how to handle it and wasn’t it
interesting how when that happened every
relationship after it you may have kept
replaying the tapes what did I do wrong
what did I say wrong
this must be my fault if I hadn’t have
said this this would have happened if I
hadn’t have done that then then they
still would have been here isn’t it
fascinating how we always want to replay
the
past thinking that we are the ones that
is really the initiator of what happened
but let me ask you for all the time
you’ve spent replaying tapes from your
past what do you have to show for it it
has happened no matter how many times
you replay what could have water what
you wish would have happened it didn’t
happen so all the time that we’re
spending trying to reassess what
happened we’re doing it at the expense
of the time we have in the present I
don’t know who I’m talking to right now
it is time to accept the past why
newsflash you can’t change it come on go
ahead and type in the comments I can’t
change my past it has happened you’ve
got to accept it please do me a favor
there have been some things that happen
in your past that were not good there
will be there were some things you
didn’t pray for there were some things
you didn’t ask for there are some things
that you wish didn’t happen but I got a
report to you they did it happened that
person left she that person may have
caused you pain you may have lost your
job you may have gotten overlooked for
the promotion it happened but the more
you keep replaying the tapes from the
past you’re gonna miss the blessing of
the present and you also could disrupt
the great things that God has for your
future so we go back to the text we’re
getting the the former things right okay
so how do you do that how do you do that
because we have really good memories Who
am I talking to
anybody got a good memory of the things
you’ve been through and why is it
interesting that we tend to remember the
bad things more than the good things I
got to talk to somebody right now your
faith has been a little low I want you
to stop replaying the bad things of your
life and do me a favor just one moment
replay the good things how many times
did you not know how you’re gonna pay
rent but the rich still got paid how
many times did you not know how you were
gonna make your car note but the car
know got paid how many times did you not
know how you were gonna put food on the
table but somehow you
may I submit for your consideration that
when you look back in your past there
are some good things that can give you
more confidence for your present why are
you choosing only to replay the bad
things I need you to be reminded just
for a moment of the good things God has
brought you before he’s got you he’s got
you through and he’s gonna do it again
now you got to get this in your spirit
your future is still good but we still
have to work on this concept of
forgetting what is forgetting me
do not reflect on something to the
degree that it becomes detrimental to
live in the present hmm what does that
mean so often when we are reflecting
we’re doing it at the expense of the
energy that’s supposed to be spent on
the present some of you before the
pandemic you had all these plans you
your career was going in one direction
you may have been auditioning you you
may have been getting the promotion but
then all of a sudden the pandemic came
and it felt like all the sudden all
those things stopped so during this
pandemic you keep replaying how did I
get here and why did I make this mistake
you keep dwelling on the past to the
degree that is disrupting your present
and potentially endangering your future
do not dwell on the former things how do
you how do you start to forget I need
you to have selective amnesia you got to
start being because see here’s the thing
why do we always remember the times that
were bad the times when we were at fault
don’t get me wrong let’s learn from our
past but you got to start having
selective amnesia you’re remembering too
much you just remembering too much you
got to have selective that means because
here’s what happens too often we are our
own worst critic our own worst judge and
we are the ones that disrupt our present
and endanger our future how because we
made a decision yesterday that reflected
who we may have been but as we grow as
we learn we make different decisions
so the person that you are today may
have never made the decision you made
yesterday so why are you still being
guilty and shameful over a decision you
made then instead of embracing who you
are now
you can look back and say yeah I would
never do that again
but I’m not going to allow guilt and
shame over what has happened to disrupt
what God is trying to do right now you
got to know that there are a lot of
people in your circle they always want
to remind you of what you used to do who
am I talking to right now it is this
this blows me this blows me away once
you start sharing the vision of your
future with others most people will tell
you well how’s that gonna happen well
you ain’t got no money how’s that gonna
happen when you eh when you you can’t
even get a role let alone an audition
how is that gonna happen well you ain’t
got the money for school how’s that
gonna happen when nobody even knows who
you are
it’s so interesting to me that whenever
you share your vision of the future with
people around you they tend to speak
against it why because they’re
remembering who you used to be not who
God has already told you you are about
to be yes there is a person you used to
be but can I talk to you because you are
about to be you are about to be
everything he’s promised you you are
about to be everything he’s called you
to be you are about to be everything
he’s envisioned for you God has given
you a vision for your future and you are
about to be everything you see in your
head don’t worry about who you used to
be
be prepared to understand who you’re
about to be everybody wants to remind
you who you used to be yep
I used I used to be a low self-esteem I
used to talk bad about myself I used to
not have any self-worth that’s who I
used to be but let me tell you who I’m
about to be I’m about to be full of
confidence I’m about to be everything
God called me to be I’m about to walk in
steps of destiny I’m about to walk in
steps of purpose I’m about to be you may
know who I used to be but you better
watch out because I’m about to be who am
I talking to right now
let him tell you who you used to be but
I need you to know who you’re about to
be this pandemic is not destroying your
future it is preparing your future
you’re about to be everything God has
revealed for you to be I told y’all I
didn’t want to preach y’all got me
preaching why you gotta be preaching
slow down your comments slow it down
slow it down no no no slow it down I get
excited when I get into the word because
too often we focus on who we used to be
but I need you to know who you are about
to be ah go ahead and put in the
comments I’m about to be and you fill in
the blank you’re about to be the star
he’s called you to be you’re about to
have the vision he’s called you to have
you’re about to have the ministry he’s
called you to birth you’re about to have
the degree that you don’t thinks gonna
happen but it’s happening anyway you’re
about to be married I’m talking to
somebody you’re a oh you’re about to be
promoted I’m talking to somebody mmm
hold up now wait a minute y’all getting
me to preach I don’t want to preach cuz
the people can’t handle the preach they
may want a little teaching I don’t know
if you can handle the preaching cuz I
get excited not about who you used to be
but who you’re about to be I’m talking
to somebody right now I’m talking to
somebody right now I’m talking to
somebody right now stop replaying the
tapes of who you used to be and start
talking about who you’re about to be you
want to do an affirmation in the morning
that really gets you going
start affirming what you are about to be
who you are about to be we’re talking
about the text forget the former things
do not dwell on the past
see the prophet Isaiah has the word from
the Lord for the Israelites and this is
what he was telling them forget the
former things do not dwell on the past
so how is it how do I get back to the
future or you know if you’ve been
dealing your past too much how do you
get back to the future how do you get
back to the present when this says do
not dwell on the past here’s what dwell
means when you look it up in the Hebrew
it means this primary meaning is to get
understanding or insight
this is interesting very very
interesting forget the former things do
not dwell in the past do not try to get
too much understanding or insight from
the past why would the text say this
because we drive ourselves crazy
trying to understand some things in our
past that we will not understand until
we meet Jesus can I just be honest with
you my father died when I was nine years
old he died of a heart attack at the age
of 36 I’m the middle child of three boys
so he left my mother to raise me my
older brother and my younger brother 36
heart attack dead nine years old having
to grow up without a father
I can’t tell you how many how much time
I have spent replaying his death asking
God why why did you take him so soon you
know he was an alcoholic before he died
why did you allow him to be an alcoholic
I found out recently that not only was
my or my uncles alcoholics but my
grandmother and grandfather on my
father’s side were alcoholics and every
time I try to dwell on it what I
realized is I’m asking the question that
I may never get an answer to in the
present I need you to know it is
important to have a cure ah maybe a
curiosity about certain things that have
happened but I need you to do me a favor
you got to stop dwelling on the things
that you may never get an understanding
on in this earth you may never fully
understand why you got passed over for
promotion you may fully under full II
understand why they left you you mean
fully never fully understand why someone
stabbed you in the back you may never
fully understand why certain things have
happened but please do me and do
yourself a favor stop searching for so
much understanding from your past when
it may never come until we get to heaven
I got a lot of questions for the Lord I
can’t wait to meme I can’t wait to say
Jesus now Jesus tell me about this
pandemic
why did you allow this thing to happen
now I have some understanding and I and
I believe he’s using it in a powerful
way but I don’t know
I understand why he did it we got to
know that when we dwell were searching
for too much understanding from events
that may never be able to produce the
understanding that we seek all right so
it says do not dwell on the past forget
the former things do not dwell on the
past why verse 19 says see I am doing a
new thing he see I am doing a new thing
the text says now it springs up do you
not perceive it so if the text is saying
don’t dwell on the former things I need
you to forget what has come before you
why because there’s something that’s
coming ahead of you that you may miss it
if your turn so so it’s like if I’m
focused on my past the text says see I’m
doing a new thing do you not perceive it
it springs up right how is it that we
don’t perceive the new things that are
being done because we’re focused on the
old things that have already been done
I’m talking to somebody right now every
time I turn my back away from what God
is trying to do I’m focused on what’s
already happened it’s already done
you’re yes you you missed that promotion
yes you left that relationship yes you
may have said the wrong thing at the
wrong time okay but every time I turn my
back to my future I’ll keep looking at
something that cannot produce anything
for me I gotta talk to somebody one of
the reasons why we don’t perceive what
God is doing the new thing because we
keep focusing on the old thing I got to
give you a commercial break right now
and I’m gonna come right back to our
regular scheduled program ah okay so
here’s here’s the truth here’s the truth
why don’t we perceive the new thing
because we’re too focused on the old
thing the thing that’s already happened
now some of you during this pandemic
there are some old things some old
flames that youyou rightfully moved on
from okay but during the pandemic you
may have gotten a little lonely and all
of a sudden you may have found yourself
texting with an old thing oh I got to
talk to somebody
yes I’m gonna get in all your business
yes I am why cuz I love you and there’s
nothing you can do about it that’s why
I’m gonna do it
you’re right now you are finding
yourself sliding back into an old thing
that old thing that you know brought you
heartache brought you pain you you you
you said I’m never going back but all
the sudden you got lonely and you find
yourself sliding back to an old thing
maybe during this pandemic God has a new
thing he’s got a new love for you he’s
got a new person that won’t make you
compromise your value that sees you for
who you are that loves you for who you
who God created you to be maybe God has
a new thing but you may not perceive it
because you’re still dealing with the
old thing let me tell you something if
God has not changed that person you are
dealing with I challenge you to let the
old thing go right now eat I’d rather
see you hold your pillow and tight by
yourself at night by yourself hold it
tight Netflix and chill with yourself
then to open up a door of your past that
deserve to be bolted shut I don’t know
who I’m talking to
I don’t know who that’s for but somebody
you gotta let go of the old thing to get
ready for the new thing oh boy I don’t
know who I am talking to right now
the text says isaiah 43 verse 19 says
see i’m doing a new thing now it springs
up do you not perceive it hmm what does
it mean to perceive it means to become
conscious hmm it means that sometimes
i’m not perceiving I’m not conscious
because there are certain things that
are blocking my consciousness what does
it mean to have a new thing new in the
Hebrew means this it already exists but
it’s being seen for the first time oh
lord help me Jesus I get excited about
the word of the Lord it already exists
but it’s just being seen for the first
time so so when we talk about our future
and when I say your future is still good
here’s why I need you to get out of your
past because as you meddle with your
past
you may be disrupting what God has
prepared for you that is good when I
love a new thing a new thing so it
already exists but I’m just seeing it
for the first time so let’s go back to
this idea of dating and love for a
minute right
so many people say oh I’m I found
someone new well guess what that person
that you have found already existed you
just got a chance to see them for the
first time it’s not like all the sudden
God just created a new person and now
you’re dating that person he just
created no that person had been around
for a long time had their experience but
now you’re just seeing something that
already existed for the first time this
is why you got to get out of what has
already happened because it prevents you
from seeing what has already existed but
you may be seeing it for the first time
God is trying to tell you a job already
exists in your future mmm God is trying
to tell you the money already exists in
your future God is trying to tell you
right now that love already exists in
your future but you may miss the new
thing because you’re allowing yourself
to be distracted what is taking your
attention from seeing the new thing the
thing that already exists for the first
time here’s what happens I love the news
don’t worry I’m watching the news all
the time so I can see what’s going on
with this pandemic but let me tell you
something I don’t let the news tell me
what new God is trying to do in my life
you got to catch that too often we allow
the news to dictate our emotions and our
feelings I get the news for information
but then I always check it against God’s
Word lord I know we’re in a pandemic
I know unemployment is at an all-time
high God but I believe that I’m a part
of the kingdom and I believe that you
said seek ye first the kingdom of heaven
and all the things we worry about will
be added unto us so while there may be
high unemployment I believe that if I
work for you I will never be unemployed
I gotta claim the promises of the future
in order to navigate the challenges of
the present you
to claim the promises of the future in
order to navigate the challenges of the
present I’ve got to talk to somebody
right now watch the news so you know
what’s going on but don’t let the news
become your headline you got a check
heavens headline well god what have you
said about me what have you said about
my life the word says that Jesus came so
we may have life and have it more
abundantly that means life in the
overflow
it doesn’t say life more abundant
abundantly if there’s a pandemic
it doesn’t say life more abundantly if
there’s no virus
there was no qualification no matter
what we experience on this world in this
world the word of the Lord will never
return to Him void so if Jesus came that
we may have life and we may have it more
abundantly that means our future is
still good I got to talk to somebody
right now like I said I’m your messenger
from the future the new thing it already
exists but you may not be seeing in why
maybe you’re focused too many too much
on the news maybe you let the news
become your headline maybe you’re
scrolling too much ah if you all know me
you know God I just say what God tells
me to say maybe you’re scrolling too
much I’m gonna be honest with you during
this pandemic I have found myself
besides using social media more I find
myself on social media more scrolling
and on Facebook and Instagram and
Twitter and I had to say uh-uh
I’m putting myself on a social media
diet why cuz I’m so caught up in
everybody else’s present that I’m not
focusing up on my own I gotta talk to
somebody right now you’ve got to start
making deposits in your present account
that you can withdraw from your future
account I gotta talk to somebody right
now what does this mean it means if you
go to the bank right now and you try to
take money out the money you take out
today is because of the deposit you made
yesterday okay alright alright we bout
to turn this virtual Church out we bout
to turn it out the money you take out
today is because of a deposit you may
yesterday so now let’s apply that to the
future in order to be able to take out
of your future the things that God may
want you to have you got to plant those
things in your present this is why you
got to stop worrying about what’s going
on other peoples pages and focus what
God is trying to do on your page the
page of your life that’s that’s where
most of your focus should be and maybe
you’re not seeing the new thing because
you keep comparing yourself to everybody
else you can’t compare to nobody because
God is gonna do something through you
he’s never done in the earth so nobody
can compare to you and you can’t compare
to nobody but you may be missing the new
thing because you’re comparing and
despairing mmm one of the other reasons
why you may be missing the new thing you
may not be perceiving it you that that
the thing that’s already exists may not
have entered your consciousness yet why
because you keep saying Lord how’d you
let this happen everything was going so
good and then now I got to stay at home
and I haven’t seen my family in forever
and and I haven’t seen my friends and
and I gotta wear a mask and and and I
don’t know when when we’re gonna open
back up and you keep focusing on what
ain’t working versus appreciating what
is working every day on social media I
do a post and the thing I say is you’re
alive you’ve made it to another day be
thankful for another day why do I say
that so that we can appreciate the
present the gift of the present
everything doesn’t mean that it’s good
but I I know that all things work
together for the good of those that love
him and are called according to his
purpose
so if I’m alive that means God is gonna
use this pandemic for my good doesn’t
mean the pandemic is good but he can use
it for my good he can use it for your
good that’s why I can say without fear
of successful contradiction your future
is still good you may not be perceiving
the new thing because you keep saying
God why and then the other thing that
happens is you say God when when is this
gonna be over just earlier this week the
news broke that LA County may extend its
stay at home order for another three
months let me tell you something
it went crazy right everybody said what
three months well well you know the
mayor had to get on CNN twice to say
well wait it’s not three months and you
know all that kind of stuff why are
people getting so up in arms about when
why are you getting so up in arms about
when this is gonna be over if God has
allowed us to it he will bring us
through it and here’s what I don’t want
you to do I don’t want you to focus so
much time on when and why that you don’t
actually maximize the time that you have
in order to have a withdrawal to make
from your future account you got to make
a deposit in the present so instead of
squandering this time and worry and when
and why what about asking God God what
do you want me to do do you want me to
start the business plan do you want me
to apply for the new job do you want me
to to actually apply for school whether
they’re gonna be virtual or not let me
apply for school do you want me to apply
for the loan do you want me to send the
text do you want me to make the phone
call God what are the things you want me
to deposit in the present that I will be
able to withdraw in the future what are
the things that you can do now that your
future self will say thank you so much
during that pandemic instead of worrying
you planned and instead of wishing you
worked and your future self will say oh
we thank you for setting me up for
success because you didn’t allow the
moment to be an excuse not to be
everything God called you to be you did
some things that now as your future self
can say thank you you catch what I’m
saying when you go back to the movie
back to the future the future self could
thank the former self why because if the
former self didn’t make deposits in the
present the future self would have never
been around to receive the deposits that
were made in the present I got to talk
to somebody today
your future is still good if you start
planning good things in your present
come on somebody I need you to push
through your depression your anger your
frustration why because your future is
still good
last point and we are done when the text
says I’m making a way in the desert and
streams in the wasteland this is verse
19 the second part of it see I am doing
a new thing now it springs up do you not
perceive it I am making a way in the
desert and streams in the wasteland what
does that mean
I am doing the impossible you have never
seen a way in a desert you’ve never seen
a stream in a wasteland the new thing
I’m gonna do has never been done before
God is going to do the impossible
through you if you allow him God is
trying to with the reason why he
challenges our perception is because he
has new things he wants us to perceive
right now a new way of thinking a new
way of living a new routine a new way of
making sure that we are everything he
called us to be and it’s gonna be unique
to you and it’s gonna be unique to me
making a way in the desert in a stream
in a wasteland he’s gonna say where
others don’t think it’s possible you’re
gonna see that through me God all things
are possible you’ve got to know that all
things are possible to those who believe
this is why I can speak over your life
your future is still good but it’s not
about what I believe it’s about what you
believe do me a favor do not speak
another negative word over your future
no no go ahead and write in the comments
no more negative words over my future go
ahead and put the emoji with the zipper
mouth go ahead and put it go ahead why
because you’re speaking against what God
is trying to speak for you God has said
your future is good your future is good
your future is good but you keep saying
well I don’t know oh I’m not sure oh
well you know I don’t have the money now
there’s no way I’m gonna make it stop
speaking negative over your future
you’re trying to talk yourself out of
what God is trying to talk you into I
don’t know who I’m talking to right now
but you got
to stop speaking negative over your
future zip it
go ahead and put the zip emoji in the in
the comments go ahead because if you
can’t say nothing nice about yourself
don’t say nothing at all life and death
are in the power of the tongue
stop it you’ve been speaking way too
much negativity if your bank account is
getting low here’s how I want you to
handle that instead of saying I don’t
know how I’m gonna make it all you got
to say is well God you got a whole lot
of room to operate in my life Lord my
goodness because you know what my rent
is you you you you know what my car note
is Lord you know I got to eat God so
here is where I need you to operate
instead of saying you’re not gonna have
the money say god hey bring the money I
believe that your your house you have
that what does it was a text thing that
he has houses he’s and he’s my father is
rich in houses and land so if we know
God is the supply of everything instead
of saying it ain’t gonna happen
why don’t we use our words to make a
deposit from his heavenly account into
our earthly account don’t speak any
negative words over your future here’s
the thing I want you to do I want you to
begin to prepare for what you’re praying
for whatever you are asking God to do I
want you to prepare for it now now some
of you let’s say you’re a musician and
you say well I can’t get out there and
tour mmm you can write songs right now
you can work on your instrument right
now you can get into in the bathroom do
some vocal lessons don’t come on talk to
me on don’t just let your gift go by the
wayside don’t just let yourself go
during this time no no no prepare for
what you’re praying for because the

your heart and make him your Lord and
