today I’m Kingdom connection when you
connect to a tree called Calvary God has
a vision for your life and he will allow
all of the things that you’ve been
through to become the DNA of a leader
and I know that I know that I know that
I’m talking to people right now who have
a heavy call and mantle of a leadership
on your life and it’s not a little thing
God’s wanting you to do it’s greater
than you think you’re capable of that’s
how you know God’s called you to do it
do you have the DNA of a leader find out
now on Kingdom connection
so today I want to talk about when God
is putting together a leader there is a
three-step process that God will take
you through that I’m going to use the
letters DNA to tell you how you know
that God’s hand is on your life for
leadership and you may say well I’m not
a leader every person in this room is
called to leadership if you’re a parent
you’re called to be a leader if you are
a Christian you’re called to be a leader
if you’re a student you’re not to be a
follower you are to be a leader we we
are raising up leaders in this church
and in our youth group and in our
children’s ministry because God has
called us all to leadership the DNA of a
leader what I’m going to share today I
think is very powerful if you let it
speak to you because many and all of you
on a process that God has you on of
developing you into a leader and you’re
going to see yourself in one of these
letters one of these words I’m going to
take those three letters DNA and I’m
going to start backwards and read like
the Chinese from left to right instead
of going DNA I’m going to start with a
and then use in and then use D because
this is my sermon I can do what I want
to and I want to end on my last point so
here I go everybody say the DNA of the
leader
and the a stands for a word that you’re
going to have to get very much
acquainted with if God is going to use
you in leadership and the a stands for
alienation any time God is going to use
you in a significant way he will first
alienate you pull you apart put you in a
season where you’re separated different
drawn out not like other people
he’ll alienate you
I think of Moses and how that his name
in Hebrew means drawn out how that there
was an edict from Pharaoh to kill all of
the male children and so Moses mother
put him in a basket trying to rescue his
life and sent him down the river and
Pharaoh’s daughter happened to be
washing and taking a bath in the river
and she sees the baby Moses in the
basket and the Bible said she drew him
out fulfilling the prophecy in his life
that he would be one that was drawn out
of a familiar place and drawn out of his
own people and his own surrounding in
his own family and be put and
transplanted into the palace of Pharaoh
now he was a Hebrew but he began to live
in the palace with the most powerful man
on the planet at that time he a Hebrew
was alienated from his own people and
was put into a position where he was
around Egyptians even though he was a
Hebrew and so he was made to field all
of his life something inside of him
because before his mother let him go she
taught him you are Hebrew you are from
the descendants of Abraham Isaac and
Jacob God’s hand is on your life you
serve the
God when you go into Egypt they’ll have
hundreds of gods but you serve one God
and he is Jehovah and she so got that
into that little boy that when he came
into being and living into the palace
and of course God really pulled a number
because his mother was hired as the
servant girl to keep him and even to
feed him so she got paid to take care of
her own baby
God can hook you up and and you know the
story so here here’s this boy he’s a
Hebrew but he’s living in an Egyptian
world and every day he’s made aware of
the fact I’m different I’m different I
feel different I’m trying to fit in with
these Egyptians but I’m not something in
the same I’m trying to but there’s
something different about me there’s
something different one of the true
signs that God has his hand on your life
it’s when there is this alienation and
God will not let you fit in and be like
other people he won’t let you do what
other people do and feel good and
relaxed you know you try to do stuff and
you get caught you try to do stuff and
things get messed up you try to be
relaxed in Egypt but you just don’t fit
in Egypt it’s because God has alienated
you for a plan he has his hand on you
and some of you are going through a
season of alienation every person in the
Bible that God used significantly first
went through a season of loneliness we
don’t like loneliness we don’t want to
be alone we don’t want to have to go
through seasons where we’re a lien Aidid
but the truth is when God is going to
use you greatly he’ll put you through a
season of loneliness where his voice is
the voice that you learn to hear more
than any other voice where you begin to
learn and develop who you are and you’re
in your identification does not come
from other people but it comes from him
and you don’t have to have their
approval God puts you through that
process of
Yuliya nation and some of you need the
gift of goodbyes when god’s putting you
food alienation he’ll start separating
you the bible said every branch that
beareth NOT fruit he taketh it away and
sometimes there are people in your life
that were there for season and God will
take cut them off and take them away and
when he does quit whining and crying and
trying to bring them back that’s the
season and God has you in alienation and
you need to get the gift of goodbyes
that says that was good for them but
this is a new season and god I’m okay
with being all by myself some of you are
so freaked out it better single because
you don’t have a date or you’re not
going with anybody maybe God needs to
alienate you to get you ready for more
than somebody or anybody maybe he’s got
the person that you’re supposed to hook
up with for life but you’re not ready
for it get your dates in the house of
God don’t find him out in the world and
quit running trying to get somebody
don’t become a chanita she needs she
need a man she need a payment she need a
car she need calm down go through your
season of alienation and when you come
out you’ll be a whole person not a half
person and your identity will be and who
God says you are
and then you will attract that kind of
person
alienation I was 25 years old single
living in Cleveland Tennessee
I bought a condo up there and had a
couch and a TV and I would when I didn’t
have revivals just sit there all by
myself
alienation but looking back on it that’s
when I got into the word like never
before prayed like I never pray when God
has his hand on your life he won’t
always
have you around people he won’t always
want you having you know we look and see
everybody’s the party and everybody’s
having some of you college students you
messing your destiny up cuz you gotta
ran with everybody but when you really
got a purpose to your life you don’t fit
in with everybody
you’re like a Hebrew among a bunch of
Egyptians and and it turns them on but
it just don’t do much for you because
your purpose and God’s dream for your
life it’s so much bigger than that petty
stupid dumb stuff I’m preaching now so
y’all done messed up this I feel
something now I don’t have to I don’t
have to smoke dope and get drunk and
shake my RiRi and like crazy just maybe
I don’t need to go through all of that
to know I don’t need that maybe I can
skip 30 years of stupidity and find my
destiny and say let no man despise my
youth I’m gonna live every day for Jesus
come on somebody you hear me in this
place don’t be afraid to walk alone
sometimes you need stand alone faith
don’t care if you’re gonna stand with me
don’t care if you think I’m a freak oh
so I don’t party like you party and I
don’t drink like you drink and I don’t
like you do in the name of the Lord
hallelujah no and you’ll never fit into
that crowd if God’s hands on your life
you can get around it but you’ll never
fit in it it’s called alienation and
it’s in your DNA
I look back over my life and God let me
get sick when I was a teenager had balls
all over my body bumps all over my face
embarrassed humiliated what was God
doing alienating me I wouldn’t be in the
ministry if that stuff hadn’t happened
to me
alienating me he said my plan for you is
so great I can’t let you run with the
people you want to run with because
they’ll take you down a plan and a
pattern that everybody else goes down
and do you won’t be like everybody else
or do you want to be my man do you want
to be do you want to be like everybody
else or do you want to be my woman whoa
I feel this but God has his hand on your
life you got to develop stand alone
faith that says I can’t help what you do
but I’ve asked for me I have made up my
mind I am not ashamed of the gospel of
Jesus Christ not a shame then there’s
the end of DNA the exposure to national
leadership and national vision what I
mean by that
notice that when God was going to use
Moses he had to pull him out of his
little village he would have stayed in
that little neighborhood the rest of his
life and lived in that little village
and had a small-town mentality and had
small dreams and thought little things
and lived a little life and all of the
people would have boxed him in and said
you’re just Moses and you belong over
here in this little section of this
little village you’re nobody and you’re
never going but God said if I’m going to
make him into the leader that I’ve
called him to be I’ve got to pull him
out of all of that which is familiar and
comfortable and I’ve got to put him
under national leadership national
vision and so God puts him in the house
of the most powerful man Pharaoh
on the
planet at that time in history and
suddenly his eyes his ears his heart his
mind begins to get stretched he begins
to see what a big world it is what a big
nation it is how powerful Pharaoh is how
big his dreams are how mighty the things
he can’t accomplish what is God doing
God is exposing him to national
leadership so it will stretch his dream
stretch his thinking break him out of
small mentality and calls him to see and
to dream and to think bigger thoughts
because God said I gotta have a guy that
can believe that
I can bring two and a half million
people out of Egypt and raise up a
nation from a bunch of slaves and in
order for that to happen I’ve got to
expose him to national dream national
vision national leadership because you
will only grow according to the people
you associate with and when God has his
hand on you he will begin to cause you
to associate with people who’ve done
more than you’ve done going higher than
you’ve gone accomplish more than you’ve
accomplished and they will stretch you
and you will realize how small you’ve
been thinking because you’re under
national leadership the last letter is
the D in DNA and that D stands for
divine discontent divine dissatisfaction
this is the part of the story I really
want you to get Moses should have been
content my god he’s a grown man now he’s
living in the palace he’s got a Mercedes
Benz chariot he’s got it home he’s
living in the lap of luxury why is he
not content
why is he dissatisfied why does he
to Hebrew beating an idiot or an
Egyptian beating a Hebrew and it bothers
him what does he care he’s living in the
palace there’s a discontent in him that
sees an issue and just can’t look the
other way something in him is stirring
saying you need to do something about
that you need to try you need to try you
need to do something you know you’re
called part of your destiny is to set my
people free and I mean that was his
destiny kicking around he was see you
you know what you’re assigned to about
what makes you angry what bothers you
what pushes your button other people
it’s no big deal but that’s your thing

for for other people is this or that
but-but-but-but something went off in
him it was as it was in his DNA to set
people free to stop don’t you oppress
that slave it was in him it was part of
what God put in him when he was created
and he couldn’t help himself even though
he had everything he walked over and
slew the Egyptian set the boy free then
he had to run and flee for his life
forty years in the desert
and while he’s there some would say what
a waste 40 years no why did God let him
go to the wilderness 40 years because he
learned every water hole
he learned every shade tree he learned
how to deal with snake bites and
scorpion stings he learned how where
ever trail went why was that imported
because he was going to bring two and a
half million people out and he needed to
not get out there and say well I wonder
where we gonna go now what we gonna do
now how do we survive 40 years out here
he had already done it so now when he
goes back 40 years later he has the DNA
of a leader he’s been alienated he sat
under national leadership and got a big
vision he’s got a discontent but even at
the age of 80 says God is not through
with me and I’ve been talking to a
burning bush and it said let my people
go and by the blood of the Lamb they
came out by the water they went through
you come out by the blood and then you
got to go through the water that’s
baptism and then you get under the cloud
that’s the Holy Spirit leading you
guiding you the Bible said they got out
three days and we’re thirsting to death
and they come to an oasis oh this is it
and they fall down and they start
drinking the water but it’s bitter have
you ever felt like the God had brought
you through something you’ve been
through the process and finally this is
it this is it and when you taste it it’s
bitter I thought this was it I thought
this was my breakthrough I thought this
was my answer I thought he was the one I
thought this was it but it’s bitter the
Bible said Moses cried unto the Lord and
God show
him a tree and she to catch this it had
been there all the time but God has a
vision for your life of things that have
been there all the time talents gifts
have been there all the time but you can
go your whole life when you’re
disconnected from God and not see what
has been there all the time God showed
him a tree and he took the tree limb and
touched the water and the bitter water
became sweet that tree is Calvary and
when you’ve been through alienation and
when you felt like you don’t fit in your
whole life when you’ve been exposed to
national leaders and yet nothing has
happened and when you’ve gone through a
season and are in a season of divine
discontent you’re just not satisfied
that’s when you need to go to the
watering hole go back to Calvary and say
Lord touch my eyes and give me a vision
for without a vision the people perish
one translation said the people will go
unrestrained when you don’t have a
vision for your life then then you’re
susceptible to temptations and failures
and setbacks but when you’ve got a
vision that means you know where you’re
going and it’s not easily accessed by
the enemy when you have vision God gave
him a vision when he connected to a tree
and when you connect to a tree called
Calvary God has a vision for your life
and he will allow all of the things that
you’ve been through to become the DNA of
a leader and I know that I know that I
know that I’m talking to people right
now who have a heavy call and mantle of
a leadership on your life and it’s not a
little thing God’s wanting you to do
it’s greater than
you think you’re capable oh that’s how
you know God’s called you to do it and I
refuse to let you get comfortable and I
refuse to let you get laid back at this
season in your life you’re too young to
retire and kick back and say somebody’s
gonna do something no you’re gonna do it
coz God’s hand is on your life whoo now
I feel like the mailman I just put the
letter in the box closed it and I’m bout
to fit it on down the road in my little
truck and but but I’m just here to tell
somebody there’s a mantle of leadership
falling on you even while I’m preaching
lift your hands up and say Lord give me
a national vision give me a big vision
give me the DNA of a leader I receive
the alienation I receive people who’ve
gone higher power relationships into my
life national leaders including my
pastor I receive the leadership to
stretch my dream I receive a divine
discontentment a dissatisfaction a
hunger for more to do more greater
influence for your glory in Jesus name
now get up on your feet let’s just
praise God a minute put your hands
together and shout just a minute come on
God stirring in this room
I believe today’s telecast has been sent
into your life and I do believe that you
have the DNA of a leader I believe many
of you have been through alienation and
you know what it is to go through
seasons of loneliness and just being
kind of cut off but God had a purpose in
it it was to prepare you it was to
empower you it was to turn your eyes and
your ears and your heart
back to him and others if you know what
it is to the under national leadership
and to have a national vision and even
an international vision God wants you to
dream big God wants you to be enlarged
in what you can do for his name and his
fame and his glory he doesn’t need small
thinkers right now and that’s why his
hand is on your life and then I believe
many of you can really relate to the
last point that I just preached about
that divine discontent that’s stirring
deep in your heart that you know you
were born for something and as I
mentioned in one of the messages in this
in this series we’re going to be in for
the next few weeks I tell you that you
don’t decide your calling you discovery
and I believe that as you turn your
heart fully and completely to God and
say Lord here’s my life I’ll lay it on
the altar I want your will I want a life
on purpose I want the assignment for my
life that God will hear your cry maybe
you’ve never really committed your life
to Jesus Christ why don’t you pray this
prayer today just right where you are
say Lord Jesus I receive you as my
savior cleanse me and forgive me I
receive what you did at the cross
through your shed blood I am forgiven
amen you know what that’s what it’s all
about and we would love to hear from you
