you about the power of his of his death
and resurrection what it means to us
Calvary is God’s divine reach Calvary is
God saying I still want you Calvary is
God’s divine reach that says to Satan
hell cannot have you and because of the
cross and what he did on the cross death
is just an incident now it’s not a final
state before the cross and the
resurrection death was the final state
when people died they went to a
compartment of Hell called Hades it was
not burning fire it was a holding place
and you could not get out but the Bible
teaches that when Jesus Christ died and
went to the grave and into hell that no
longer is is death a final statement but
it is an incident it is but for a moment
there’s no fear of the hold of death on
our life if you don’t believe in the
resurrection you will not believe in the
rapture because the same Bible that
teaches that God raised Jesus up from
the dead teaches that the church will be
raptured the Bible said in 1st
Thessalonians 4 that the same power that
raised Christ from the dead will quicken
our mortal body and one day when the
trumpet sounds if you have anyone in the
grave today when that trumpet sounds if
they’re in Christ the grave will give up
her dead and the Bible said those who
are alive and remain those of us who are
living we will be caught up together
with our lost loved ones to meet the
Lord in the air and if you can’t believe
in the resurrection you can’t believe in
the rapture but it’s going to happen now
please listen to me death is separation
of the soul from the body
and the Bible teaches in the book of
Revelation 20 that there are two deaths
there is a second death for people who
are lost to go into eternity what does
that mean you die the first time and
that is when your soul leaves your body
but there is a second death and it’s
when you are separated not just from
your body but your soul is separated
from God for eternity it’s when he says
to people who do not know him as their
as their Savior depart from me I never
knew you and in that moment the Bible
said this is the second death now here’s
the here’s the key if you are if you
have only been born one time you have to
die twice but if you get born a second
time or two verse meaning your natural
birth and being born again you only die
one time so if you’re born one time you
die to death in the natural and then the
separation from God but if you’ve been
born again you only die one time your
soul leaves your body and you go to be
with the Lord because of what Jesus did
on the cross and in the grave
I’m thankful today for that aren’t you
Jesus got up Jesus got out and Jesus
wants to come in to your life
and if he got up and he got out and he
comes in you can’t stay down now
everybody has down days even Jesus he
was down three days but you’re not
supposed to stay down and when Jesus
comes in you won’t stay down you’ll get
up and you’ll get out because that’s
where he’s taking you I believe that we
need to understand that when he gets up
he exhausted sins power to dominate us
he defeated death terror to hold us and
we don’t have to be afraid of anything
anymore not of dying not of anything in
this life nothing can separate us from
the love of God
the greater one got up got out and when
the Holy Spirit speaks to you and you
say yes Lord he gets in you and the one
who said I’ll never leave you I’ll never
forsake you he’ll walk you through and
even into the next life he will be there
for you that’s the message of the cross
and the resurrection I want to tell you
what Jesus did he did three things when
he died and rose again number one he
removed your transgressions number two
and they all start with an are real
quick he said that he will remember your
sins no more
he removed your transgressions will
remember your sins own no more and
number three he releases you from your
iniquities when he when I say he removes
your transgressions from your account
what does that mean there are two words
for sin in the Old Testament
transgressions and iniquities and
there’s a big difference between the two
and you need to understand it an
iniquity is an inward motivation that
drives you towards sin if something that
happens on the inside iniquity happens
inside a transgression is the outward
action that is the actual the word
transgression comes from the word
trespass which means to step over a
known boundary it’s when it goes from
something you think about are you being
tempted to actually doing it so another
way of saying it is iniquity or sin
starts inside in your heart but a
transgression is in your hand is what
you do an iniquity is an attitude the
transgression is the action that’s what
the Pharisees they would brag about how
they didn’t do this and they didn’t do
that they were saying we didn’t commit
the transgression but Jesus wouldn’t let
him off the hook because he knew inside
they were rotten they were mean they
were ugly they were bitter they were
hateful and he
said.you window-shop adultery you have
said watch him because they said we’ve
never committed adultery here stone this
woman but Jesus says I see you haven’t
done the transgression of adultery but
let’s look inside of you and when he
does he says if you look on a woman to
lust after her you have committed
adultery and then he said if you are a
murderer if you are a if you hate your
brother you are a murderer I know you
haven’t done the actual action and
transgression of murder but if inside
you’re so bitter at somebody you hate
them then you are a murderer and they
thought they would get off that way but
watch this Jesus Jesus Jesus was so
powerful and so exact in his death that
Isaiah 53 said he was wounded watch the
wording for our transgressions what is a
transgression what is a wound a wound is
outward bleeding if you’re wounded
you’re you have outward bleeding and
what is the transgression it’s an
outward act of sin it’s the action the
scene outside he was wounded he took
blood on his body for our outward
transgressions he was bruised what is
bruising bruising his internal bleeding
if you ever get a bruise what that means
is you were bleeding on the inside he
was bruised for our iniquities what is
an iniquity it’s an inside motivation
and inside the hidden thing but you can
have it and here’s the beauty of what he
did on the cross he completely cleanse
you inside and outside not only of
things that you actually did but of
things that you would think about and
would do he cleansed you inside and out
not only that but the Bible said he
removed your transgressions I don’t know
if you just got what I said I’m not
talking about one day right now when God
looks at you he sees all of your
transgressions inside and out through
the blood of his son and he says I have
removed your transgressions secondly
this is even more remarkable because of
what he did he said I
after 43 says I even I am he that blots
out your transgressions to remember your
sins no more Isaiah 43 and 25 Hebrews 8
and 12 their sins I will not remember
this is phenomenal the word remember
means to recall or bring up for use now
sometimes we say God forgot all of our
sins it does it never does it say he
forgets because if God forgot all the
sins that you committed that would be
about half your life so he doesn’t
forget but listen what he does I will
remember what is remembering to recall
to bring up for use against you Wow
I know you did it but I will never
remember it to recall it to use it
against you or to let it be brought up
against you because I will remember your
sins no more it will never be used
against you again because of what my son
did on the cross when he rose again from
the grave you know I don’t know I can’t
prove it but I think men lose their
memory when they go to sleep because my
wife sometimes will ask me Charisse will
say to you what did you do yesterday but
if I asked her that she can tell me she
can tell women can remember everything
they remember what clothes they had on
they remember who they saw actual she
can remember things that I talked to her
about and she can say I remember even
how you did your hands I remember and
how do you remember that you know the
Bible said that God made male and female
from him so there must be male/female
kind of attributes to God and I believe
the the female part of God
it knows what we did but the male part
of God says just forget it
and I won’t remember it anymore that’s
not theology that’s just my opinion turn
to somebody and say God as removed your
transgressions and he remembers them no
more that ought to make you a worshipper
that ought to make come on that ought to
make somebody thanks worthy is the lamb
that was slain and if that weren’t
enough he does one more thing he he
releases us from our iniquities it has
to do with being set free it has to do
with with he can so sever you from that
that bend that that tendency that
weakness he knows our weaknesses and he
says I have the power through my shed
blood to release you from the addiction
to release you from the pain to release
you from the past it’s what Jesus does
when he hung on the cross I want to give
you in closing four quick things that
the resurrection shows us in the Old
Testament whether you know it or not
this book is the most amazing book the
Bible that you will ever read and the
prophecies were there in ClearType like
you wouldn’t believe of the resurrection
of Jesus Christ for example in the story
of Noah we see the resurrection well
what do you mean in Genesis chapter 8
the Bible said in verse 4 the waters
after 150 days begin to receive and
subside and it says and in the seventh
month of the seventeenth day the ark
rested on Mount Arak
in other words in the seventh month the
seventeenth day everybody say the
seventh month the seventeenth day the
Ark of the Covenant is raised up it gets
on a mountain watch this
and the waters of death received the
waters of judgement received and it is
raised up notice the timing in the
seventh month on the 17th day why does
that matter because Passover which is
when the lamb was slain which is when
Jesus was crucified at the very same
time the lamb was being slain Jesus was
being crucified from 12 o’clock to 3
o’clock he hung on the cross for you and
me and here’s what’s significant when
did Passover happen according your Bible
in the 7th months listen the 14th day
let’s do math Jesus dies and here’s a
prophecy of Noah in the seventh month
the seventeenth day he’s raised up and
the waters of death go down on the
fourteenth day is seventh month 14th day
the lamb is slain 14 15 16 17 three days
later he is raised up death is defeated
and there is the picture of the
resurrection in the story of Noah let me
give you another one in the Old
Testament Genesis chapter 22 Abraham and
Isaac Abraham is told by God take your
son your only son for God so loved the
world that He gave His only Son take him
up on the mountain and sacrifice him to
me and the Bible said listen to the
graphic detail that Isaac the little boy
actually we say was a little boy he was
17 years old and he put the wood on his
back the little the teenager 17 years
old put the wood on his back and the
Bible said in Genesis 22 that they
climbed the mountain and it was a
three-day journey oh my goodness for
three days in the mind of Abraham his
son Isaac was dead in the mind of the
father the son was dead for three days
that’s exactly what God the Father had
to go through in the God the father’s
mind he saw his boy carry
would heal and for three days he was
dead in the father of the in the mind of
the father when when he gets to the top
somebody said that Abraham forced Isaac
he was 17 years old and Abraham was 100
nobody could have made Isaac lay down on
that altar just like nobody made Jesus
lay down on that altar no man takes my
life if I want to Jesus that I can call
ten thousand of angels I lay down my
life just like Isaac laid down and when
the knife was raised by Abraham suddenly
God sent an angel and said don’t do it
there’s a substitute for him there’s a
ram caught in the thicket shed the Rams
blood and here’s a beautiful picture of
the resurrection watch Isaac who went
the son who went to the mountain to die
after all of that is over walked off the
mountain of death three days later very
much alive one more one day they came to
Jesus and say fed do some tricks do some
miracles we’ve heard you do tricks do
some tricks come on do something he said
a wicked generation looks for a sign but
if you’ve got to have a sign just as a
sign to you as Jonah went into the belly
of the fish for three days and came back
out again so the Son of Man I Jesus
Christ will go into the bowels of the
earth but on the third day I’ll come out
again and then and and and Jonah we can
go preach he was told by God go take a
message of judgment to the to Nineveh
and he didn’t like those people so he
wouldn’t go and he went the opposite
direction of fish woloson and for three
days he’s in hell but watch this a
resurrected man does not bring after he
comes up and that Nevada says I love the
word him the fish spit him out spit him
out
and now he goes to Nineveh like God told
him with seaweed all over he probably
smelled like you wouldn’t believe but
when he gets there he preaches Nineveh
40 days to repent or God will judge you
notice what he changed his message God
didn’t tell him to do that he did it on
his own because resurrected men don’t
preach judgment they preach mercy he’s
saying I’m giving you 40 days basically
six weeks to get your act together now
if I if the old me would have showed up
before I went to hell and came out and
here’s the good news Jesus is a
resurrected man and his message is not a
message of judgment his message is a
message of mercy and I love you and I’ll
forgive you and I’ll restore you and all
I need you to do is repent I got a I got
out and I want to get in your life the
older I get the more I realize that
every time I hold a Bhakra phone and
preach this gospel somebody may be
hearing it for the first time or the
last time what are you going to do with
Jesus
if you’re born twice you’ll only die
once but if you’ve only been born once
in the natural and you’ve never been
born again you’re going to die twice
you’re not only going to be separated
from your body separated from God today
is the day of salvation you know what
Jesus wants to do for you he wants to
remove your transgressions he wants to
never remember them meaning never bring
them up or allow them to be brought up
to you be used against you again he
wants to release you from the addictions
from the tendencies from the weaknesses
he wants you to run to the mercy seat
and Jesus is the mercy seat he wants you
today to know that he was wounded for
your transgressions and bruised for your
iniquities and by His stripes you’re
healed your marriage your family your
future your life but he never comes
where he’s not invited when I gave my
heart to Jesus I did it for three
reasons I needed a friend
I needed forgiveness and I needed a
future and Jesus gave me all three he
became my best friend he gave me total
forgiveness and he gave me a future I
never would have dreamed when I was lost
but one day God would use me to preach
his glorious gospel and he has a plan in
a future for you according to Jeremiah
29 and some of you have been missing it
but today God is calling you home come
home come home come back to the cross
come running to the mercy seat he’s not
here to judge you he’s here to give you
mercy
he’s a resurrected man and he’s got a
message of mercy for you for you
