in general what we need is this ultimate
Assurance of who we are this ultimate
Assurance of our worth we need someone
like that loving us like that we need
someone we think the world of thinking
the world of us
we need the praise of the praise worthy
comparison definitely has a pull to it
or am I the only woman that’s ever asked
their husband so are my thighs bigger
same size or smaller than hers at the
beach yeah we don’t do that that’s a
really mean thing to do to your husband
because he either can’t be truthful or
if he tells you the truth you tell him
he’s lying so there’s a no win for your
husband so we want to be those people
who are not pulled away
from our truest Center
by comparison
and competition
what was the scripture my Christian
husband suggested I read it second
Corinthians 10 12 says not that we dare
to classify or compare ourselves with
some of those who are commending
themselves but when they measure
themselves by one another and compare
themselves with one another they are
without understanding
there’s four C’s here the first one is
classified the next one is compare the
next one is self-commend and when we get
involved in that we get a 4C it’s called
compromise
compromise we settle for something less
because we are busy looking at others as
our source of inspiration
I love Millennials and Genesis I still
do youth conferences I think it’s kind
of hilarious they’re like we need a
token grandmother so they just kind of
throw me in the mix and I I love that
gen Z’s and Millennials actually know
that they were created for something
more I’ll have so many of them come up
to me and they’ll say oh my gosh when
you were speaking I just I just know
that God has his hand on my life for
something significant
I’ll say I 100 agree
and then they’ll say but I have no idea
what it is well there’s a reason for
that there’s actually a couple number
one
you don’t discover who you are in the
presence of people
you discover who you are in the presence
of God
I can’t tell you how many times that I
feel less than in the presence of people
but God doesn’t speak about who I’ve
been or who I am God calls me according
to who I am becoming and he is the only
person that knows my real name do you
know that your name here is not your
real name do you know there is a secret
name that’s written on a stone of white
The Book of Revelation says that your
real name is the name the only you and
Jesus no and you and I are alive here to
grow into the real name
not the names we’ve been called
but that real name
so we don’t want to look at other people
the other thing is
we have a generation that is constantly
showing us what’s been done
but you will also never learn what
you’re called to do by looking at what’s
been done do you know why because God is
doing a new thing he’s not remaking the
old thing he’s doing something he’s
doing a new thing there’s a stirring in
the spirit there is a sifting there is a
shifting and God is saying come on my
people I’m doing something something and
the reason why he says something is
because there’s nothing for him to put
the frame of reference around for you to
understand what it is
the other reason why gen Z’s and
Millennials don’t know what they’re
called to do
it’s because they’re called to do
something that has never been done
before and when you are called to do
something that has never been done
before you will be distracted by what
was done before and so we we you have to
understand why
is the enemy working overtime to
distract you from who you really are
Instagram Facebook cancel culture you
know what it is
fear of man
you know what fear of man is it’s a
snare it keeps you wandering in the same
Loop you will never make any progress
you need to be Sicilian with me you need
to get a sicilian mindset see when I get
attacked I take it as a compliment I’m
like what is it about me that is so
threatening to the enemy that he has
launched a full-scale assault against me
you need to have this mindset because so
many people say what did I do wrong see
the enemy really doesn’t care
about your past
oh he’ll talk about it but he doesn’t
really care about it he’s after your
future so he will attack you with your
history to undermine your destiny but
you need to understand what he’s really
after
and these are not days for us to mess
around
I love that the theme of this conference
is beautiful
I love the concept of beauty
I turned to Pastor Sarah we were sitting
there and I said have you read this
quote there’s a quote by John Keats it
says truth is beauty and beauty is truth
Jesus is truth and he is beautiful we’re
not talking about pretty we’re talking
about beauty we’re talking about
beholding him and he transforms us so I
just want you to know we cannot afford
to be comparing ourselves with one
another first one was do not classify or
compare okay what does it mean to
classify
it means to brand
rank
sort
pigeonhole it means to put people in
Little Boxes
so you can disqualify them
how many of you know that nobody’s life
is as neat and easy as it looks on
social media
how many of you know that everybody is
going through things that you know
nothing about
but when we classify and identify
someone as different than us
then we don’t have our heart open
towards them
we don’t want to be those people that
classify because classifying is not
classy the other thing is comparison

Theodore Roosevelt said it the best he
said comparison is a thief of Joy how
many of you have ever gone on a date
with your husband wave at me okay five
people okay awesome you guys are awake
okay I’m glad to know that in Florida
you guys date your husbands okay I I
can’t I don’t know if this has ever
happened to you maybe it’s just me maybe
I’m weird
you go on a date with your husband
you’re so excited you’re not cooking you
go out to dinner with them everything’s
great you go to the movie you’re sitting
there in the movie and all of a sudden
the fake husband
kisses the fake wife and you think to
yourself
when was the last time my husband kissed
me like that
he never kisses me like that anymore oh
he used to kiss me like that but he
doesn’t kiss me like that anymore your
husband sitting next to you kind of move
away a little bit
you were leaning now you just kind of
you’re in your own space
your husband tried to reach over you’re
like
you’re leaving you’re leaving the movie
theater he’s like hey what’s wrong you
know what’s wrong
no no he has absolutely no idea that you
have been comparing him to Thor he has
no idea that that was happening
so you have a choice you have a choice
you can
stay comparing
and have a bad night
or you can grab that man and you can
kiss him the way you wish he would kiss
you and you’ll have a good night
but if you allow comparison to come in
it’s going to steal your joint John and
I started in the ministry in Orlando
our biggest prayer request was a minivan
I know there’s a lot of people that are
like God please never let me have a
minivan we are like we’ll do anything
for a mini fan our children were praying
we were in a Honda Civic three children
crammed into the back seat hitting each
other fighting uh it was crazy I had was
pregnant with my fourth child my husband
would have to stop every once in a while
let me get out of the car to run around
the car a couple times to keep the blood
flow going to my legs and everywhere we
went we prayed for a minivan and then we
would come home from our trip and our
boys would be like where is it they
expected it to be sitting in the
driveway but I felt like I had seen my
minivan a couple times a couple times we
had been at churches and I saw people
with two kids two kids driving minivans
two children no you don’t get a minivan
for two kids you get minivans for four
kids I’m like why do you got a minivan
they’re like oh someone just gave this
to us
I remember feeling sick in my stomach
like Panic like oh my gosh you stole my
minivan we have been praying for a
minivan and you just took it
okay what you know this is this is where
we go wrong we begin to think that when
God blesses somebody it’s been deducted
out of our account we think oh wait that
minivan came out of my minivan banking
account which I didn’t even have but we
begin to imagine that God providing for
somebody else somehow meant he wouldn’t
provide for us and God is saying you’re
gonna have to change the way you think
about that you’ve got to actually see
that when I blessed one of your sisters
and I do something beautiful in her life
it means that you can actually be
expected for me to do something
beautiful in your life instead of
getting mad at your sister who gets
blessed how about you get happy for her
how about we celebrate each other
wouldn’t that be awesome that would be
amazing okay and then the third C is
commend self-commending this has become
an art form
do people just take selfies
just gave ten hundred thousand million
dollars to the poor humble brag no we
don’t get to do that we don’t get to do
this self command unless
you want that as your reward
for some reason we forgot that Jesus
said to send certain things ahead
just send them ahead just go ahead don’t
let your right hand left out doesn’t
mean it doesn’t mean there isn’t times
to share and encourage people but it’s
like the motive
is the motive to brag or the motives to
declare God’s faith on us it’s the
motive to encourage other people to get
involved and be generous or is the
motive to shine the light on yourself
and so we have to watch what’s going on
because when we live in this thing it
says we are without
understanding
how many of you know
we live in a time where there has never
been more information
more knowledge
and less understanding
how many of you know that people are
actually really cruel
to one another
that people have depersonalized other
people and so we want to stay away from
that John 5 44 says how do you expect to
get anywhere with God when you spend all
your time jocking for position with each
other ranking your Rivals and ignoring
God we don’t want to be those people we
do not want to be those people rivalry
will rob you of what God has in and for
your life
now you saw that I am a mother of four
boys I want to tell you where this idea
of without rival came from my husband
and I had the privilege of traveling and
ministering in South Korea it was such a
quick turnaround it was like carry on
only back and we went down to South
Korea came back I was working on a
manuscript called girls with swords when
I realized I had fallen asleep at my
computer
because of eight pages later of the
letter T I had depressed one key and I
my head jerks awake and we’re like t t t
and I was like you know what some people
do jet lag well other people don’t I one
of the categories that does not do jet
lag well if I’m just gonna go take a nap
so I I go to lay down
and as I’m falling asleep I hear
I do not love my children equally
it’s like what
did I bring home a blasphemy Spirit from
South Korea God you have to love us all
the same or would it be fair
he said same implies that one of you are
replaceable
equal says that my love can be measured
see I don’t know if you know this about
God God doesn’t have love for you God is
love for you and God’s love cannot be
measured because he has loved you with
an everlasting love
there’s no beginning
and there’s no end to his love for you
and then he said I love I don’t love my
children equally I love them
uniquely
I jumped up opened up my husband’s
dictionaries looked up the word unique
first tier definition is
Soul representative s-o-l-e do you
understand that you are the only person
that has ever been created to represent
God’s love to this earth the way you
were created to represent God’s love to
this earth do you know how God loves you
is also that representation of God’s
love to this earthquest people see his
love for you and what else he’s supposed
to also see our love for one another we
aren’t even nice to each other my
goodness just go ahead and try to put
something that people don’t really 100
understand on Instagram and and don’t
explain it well enough and find out what
happens I am unfollowing you

it’s like being a guest in their house
you don’t go out and slam the door
you just leave
somebody’s bothering you just leave you
don’t have to say I’m unfollowing you
what are they going to say please stay
please stay don’t you unfollowed them

it’s just silly we don’t act that way
we just restrict them that’s all we do
we just restrict people I think maybe
they’re having a bad day all right
that’s what I do at least you get two
bad days

accumulation of mental and emotional

happiness trinket Gods magic show
religion paranoid loneliness Cut Throat
competition all consuming it never
satisfied wants a brutal temper an
impotence to love or be loved divided
houses divided lives small-minded and
lobster cited Pursuits The Vicious habit
of depersonalizing everyone into a rival
uncontrolled and uncontrollable
addictions
ugly parodies of community I could go on
this isn’t the first time I warned you
you know if you use your freedom this
way you will not inherit the kingdom of
God
it seems like Paul was writing to our
day
he was writing to the galatian church so
we’re not in something new we’re in a
pattern that the enemy has found to work
because he knows the house is divided
fall
sisters divided fail
spouses divided divorced
he says I know how to divide and conquer
I know Tom Cruise believes the end of
the world is coming with an alien
invasion but I believe that we are more
at risk of
widespread alienation
people saying I I don’t need to be
connected with you wait you don’t you
don’t agree with me doctrinally we’re
gonna we’re gonna push each other away
we can’t be those people we need to lean
into what God is doing
and I believe that God is doing
something incredibly significant in and
with his daughters right now I didn’t
think it would look like this I didn’t
think our time would look like this
but you could have been born
at any moment in history a God Hand
shows each and every one of us for this
moment for this season one of my
favorite quotes of all time is and they
won’t be able to put it up just trust me
so quote by Matthew Arnold he said if
ever there Comes A Time
when the women of the world come
together
purely and simply for the benefit of
mankind they will be a force such as the
world has never known
if ever there comes a time when the
women come together
purely and simply for the benefit of
mankind
do you understand what’s happening to
women right now do you understand that
woman is under attack do you understand
why God made woman and the very
beginning do you know that there was a
problem long before there was even a
fall do you know that God said it’s not
good for man to be alone and so he said
okay I’m going to take and I’m going to
make a woman and then when he made the
woman he said it’s so very very good so
women are answers to be embraced not
problems to be controlled but what we
have allowed to happen is we have
allowed our culture to have more
influence over us than the scripture and
our culture has said if there’s going to
be healing in the genders we need the
women to act like men and the men to act
like women and we’ll all mix in the
middle
but what God is saying oh you don’t
understand there is Beauty and masculine
and there is Beauty and feminine and I
want my daughters to remember that I am
the one that wove them and wonder to be
an answer I don’t know if you’re
watching what’s happening
but anybody can say they’re a woman now
you guys
what do do you think that’s a compliment
or do you think it’s something
undermining the very purpose of our
gender the fact that we partner with God
to bring forth life the fact that we
were created to be an answer you have to
get this in your mindset that the time
for you to be that answer is now and
it’s not with harshness it’s not with
hatefulness it’s about you having full
permission to be everything that God
created you to be as a woman because see
there’s been coming together
there’s been coming together the
feminists have come together
but see they didn’t really come together
for the benefit of women
they didn’t
because they said to be powerful as a
woman
you need to act like a man
well I don’t want to act like a man I
want to act like a woman and I believe
that we are daughters that have a season
to reveal the Beauty and the strength of
what that actually looks like the answer
of woman
large and intimate beautiful and strong
I believe that that is why the enemy
attacks us with all those lies that they
put up in front of us all the things
about outward outward outward because
God understands the power of the heart
of a woman and so he wants to make it
about the outside that’s what the enemy
is saying make it about the outside and
God is like baby girl this life is just
a seat
I love that butterflies are like a
representation of being born again not
just born again here but how many of you
know that my body is a seed and who I
really am is going to come alive in
eternity and so this seed is never going
to feel completely comfortable because
it’s just a fraction of who I really am
who I really am will not know until I
see Jesus so when I see him I don’t know
him and I don’t know who I really am
that is what we need to be pursuing not
looking at our own mirrors but pursuing
Jesus because the more I pursue him the
more he reveals me that’s just the way
it looks so because I opened up with a
coffee story I’m going to close with a
coffee story I had the privilege of
traveling and speaking a lot of places
and usually for the safety of the people
that are going to be under the side of
my voice I try to find out where I need
to go for coffee in the morning I
usually ask for a Starbucks because it’s
just consistent it’s not because I think
it’s the best and I was in a city and I
was at the you know checking in and I
said where is the closest Starbucks and
they said oh no
you don’t want to go to Starbucks
you want to go to the Palace and I was
like yeah
I the palace there’s a coffee Palace yes
and I like I was right there like it’s
not open right now
it doesn’t open till 6 a.m and it’s only
open to like one I said okay all right
so I set my alarm for 5 45 a.m got up
brushed my teeth put on my Ray-Ban
sunglasses because sunglasses are makeup
and I headed across the street to the
Palace I remember I opened up the door
had this really cool Texas hipster Vibe
when it came my turn to order I was so
excited I was shaking and I held hands
with the Barista I was like tell me what
you have and she said well we have
microfoam cappuccinos I’m like what have
I been drinking have I been drinking
large foam if I’ve been drinking macro
foam she’s like I don’t know she’s like
but we have microfoam I’m like okay I’m
gonna need one of those she said we also
have a fig and honey latte
yeah I said okay I need that as well and
she said but my favorite is a lavender
latte I said I want all three of those
three shots each paid it and I went to
the end of the counter and this man like
Steps in my way he’s like where are you
from I’m like what is it illegal to
drink nine shots of espresso if they’re
not from here and he was and I said I’m
I’m from Colorado he’s like how did you
find out about the coffee shop it was
like the hotel across the street he’s
like well why are you here I’m like
buddy look at me I have sunglasses on
inside I am obviously not wanting to
talk to people and I have not had any
caffeine and so I thought okay I’m going
to exit him from this conversation right
now I said I am here for a woman’s
conference and he’s like where I’m like
oh my gosh he’s just gonna keep this up
so I was kind of confused about where it
was located so I looked at the Barista
and she was like you’re at such and such
so she gave him all the information and
he’s like okay and I said there’s like 3
000 women and they’re they’re
outreaching to the community it’s really
this beautiful Gathering and he’s like
well why are we not covering it
I was like what wait he’s like well I
have 3 000 women are doing something in
the community we should be covering it
could you please sit down I’m like wait
who are you he’s like I am the
editor-in-chief of the Amarillo Globe
I’m like oh my gosh this is an interview
I don’t want to dis on dishonor the body
of Christ so I start trying to suck down
the microphone it’s hard it’s hard to
suck it down fast I’m trying to suck it
down fast get some caffeine into my
blood and he’s asking me all these
questions I’m a half listening to him
half caffeinating and then he’s like
well did you read the Pope’s uh most
recent report and I’m like uh which one
he said the one about the excavation of
the Catacombs I said I
I didn’t read that one he was like give
me your phone I thought yes we have
already violated every other social
construct let me unlock my phone and
hand it to you complete stranger so I
hand it to him and he’s like okay you
need to read this article I’m like okay
I will on the toilet later and
he’s like they excavated the catacombs
and they found mosaics
of women
preaching
I’m going to put the picture up there
you go you see that he said that is
Priscilla and they know she’s preaching
because she has her hands up in
benediction
and he said so you’re telling me that
you’re doing a women’s meeting but
you’re doing Sunday morning as well he
said I can’t come tonight on Saturday
but I will send a reporter tonight and
I’ll be there in this service tomorrow
morning he said because I just have a
feeling
that you’re one of those women
and I am going to tell you that I just
have a feeling that God is gathering a
group of women a beautiful Sisterhood
that he is calling you out of a place of
Darkness that he has been in the process
of Excavating your life and you were so
busy looking down at all of the broken
pieces but God was taking every broken
piece of your life and he was making a
mosaic out of it
so I’m gonna do something
I’m gonna believe
that you guys have come through a hard
season
and I’m going to tell you none of us
like hard seasons
but I’m also going to give you a promise
struggle is strengthening
when we go through a hard season
we have a chance to develop things that
we will never develop in an easy season
I want you to stand to your feet right
now
and if I can get the musicians to come
up
awesome see they were already there
they’re amazing

I want you to say heavenly father

Lord

I’m going to tell you what God loves
God loves daughters
who worship their way through
God loves it when his daughters have not
yet seen his faithfulness and yet they
declare it
God loves it when we sing his praise
when all we want to do is weep and wine
God is doing a new thing but it requires
that you leave behind the old thing God
is doing something something that is
going to Astound this world God is doing
something in your life and you need to
make a decision how you want to respond
to that see a year from now
everything could be exactly the same way
it is right now
or a year from now everything can be
different a year from now some of you
could be holding a promise in your hands
or a year from now you can say this year
is like last year and last year was like
10 years ago and it never changes well
I’m going to tell you when you look back
you go back but when you lift your eyes
you begin to see what God is doing
so I’m going to pray for you
and I’m going to believe for a divine
inspiration and a Divine impartation can
you believe that God can do that all
right I want you to lift up your hands
heavenly father I thank you that you are
drawing your daughters I speak to the
gifts that are in seed form I speak to
the gifts that were buried in
hopelessness I speak to the seeds of
disappointment I speak to the talents
that were buried in a season of
barrenness and I speak a boldness to
unearth what you buried father I thank
you that this is a season to water this
is a season to cry out this is a season
to tend what you sowed in their life in
last season in preparation for the next
season this is a season of strength
because they’re coming out of the broken
place and father I thank you that your
banner over them is a love that is
without rival and everybody agrees say
amen and amen all right
stay with me for a moment
some of you came with friends some of
you you heard there was free food some
of you said you know what I just want to
be with my children tonight some of you
said I just can’t be with my husband
another night or I’ll punch him I’m just
gonna tell you you heard Pastor Sarah

God always meant for you to be here
it’s not an accident
some of you you’ve heard about Jesus but
you don’t know him some of you you were
raised in religion that made you feel
shameful made you feel sin conscious all
I know is that’s how I was raised I
remember that I felt like I was under
the weight of all these sins that I
actually couldn’t even remember David
the psalmist said of God numbers are sin
no one can stand we have a God who
buries our sin and the sea of
forgetfulness but all you have to do is
acknowledge Him acknowledge Him and I
believe that this beautiful thing
happens when you say I’m going to turn
from being my own master and being
self-willed and I’m going to lay down my
will and make you my lord and so we’re
going to we’re just not how many y’all
know we’re not in days to mess anymore
how many of you know we’re not in the
days well I’m not like y’all we’re all
here
we’re not closing our eyes
we’re not we’re not going to be shy
about it
we’re going to be militant
because we’re in a Time season
where God is calling us into a season
and a posture of women who understand
what is at risk if we do not rise up
rise up for each other
and rise up to be everything that God
created us to be so if you’re here and
you say I’ve never been born again I’ve
been scared of born-again Christians I
wasn’t sure what it was and you want to
get saved for the very first time I want
to pray for you if you are here and
you’re like backslidden and you think I
don’t know what that is well you’re
probably not backslidden you’re just you
would know
you would know if you’re a backslid that
means that you you leaned in at one
point
and you pulled back
and if you’re here and you want to get
born again I’m going to tell you this is
a house
that loves the presence of God
and loves the people of God
pastor Matt Pastor Sarah had been crying
out and praying for you every song that
was sung every balloon that was blown up
every welcome that you experienced was
to invite you into this moment so if you
want to be born again I want to pray for
you I want you to throw up both hands
I’m not doing the little secret hands
