has anyone been anyone been anywhere
okay got some people listen if you’re
ever in vegas
witnessing
street evangelism i don’t know why you
go to vegas i’m not here to judge i’m
not here to judge
but if you’re ever in vegas come say hi
to a city like church we started the
church now four years ago and god’s been
so good and um honestly we’re able to do
so much because of
the generosity of the body of christ
including
transformation that i don’t know if you
know this but at the end of last year
y’all sowed a hundred thousand dollars
into our life
into our church thank you thank you
thank you thank you is a miracle
and it really did empower us to do a lot
of stuff that in the next few
months we’re going to be able to
announce but it was a it was a god thing
big time and uh so
wow
i’m speechless it’s hard to get a
preacher speechless but i’m speechless
right now
but i do need to preach
um
genesis chapter 12. i’m going to start
in verse 1.
the lord said to abram
leave your native country
all right here we go you all ready for
this
your relatives and your father’s family
go to the land i will show you
i will make you i will make you
into a great nation
i will bless you and i will make you
famous and you will be a blessing to
others
i will bless those that bless you i’ll
curse those who treat you with contempt
all of the families on earth will be
blessed look at these two words through
you everybody say through you
say one more time through you
okay because what god wants to do in you
and what god wants to do for you and he
does
it must then go
through you
we can’t be like a nasty pond that is
just always receiving feed me feed me
feed me no our life should look like a
flowing river of blessing wherever we go
that whatever god is doing in me and
whatever god is doing for me he’s going
to do through me and if god can trust
you
to get it through you who get it to you

and so i want to talk from this idea one
life what could god do with your life
what could god do with one life what
could god do
through your family what could god do
through this church
what could god do with your yes
and i believe god’s gonna speak to a
sound let’s pray father i thank you for
your word i thank you for the moments
that we have together
i pray holy spirit anoint
this time
speak now our ears are attentive they’re
open to you
lord i thank you that you can go beyond
me that the anointing is greater than me
that you can give every person watching
a tailor-made
word just for them
so lord let us hear what we need to hear
even beyond what i’m saying
and we thank you for it in the mighty
name of jesus christ and the whole

love god
i love god anybody else
it could it’d be awkward if no one
cheered i
i love the lord uh i got saved 24 years
ago june 1998 and i’ve been now uh
september i’ll celebrate 20 years in
full-time ministry and i got to tell you
i love the lord
we were in the back and worship started
and they go do you want to go out to
worship i said absolutely i love jesus i
want to go worship
i love god i love i love the praises of
god i love i love being in the house of
god
i love the people of god i love i love
hearing people praise and sing and shout
and clap and cry and run if you want to
run it’s a little dark in here but run
with an iphone like a man something but
i i honestly i love god i love the
church i love the people of god i love
what god is doing in our nation right
now i love what god is doing through
churches like transforming i love the
lord
and and there’s a lot of reasons that i
love god but one of the reasons that i
really love the lord is that he uses us
yes he uses us
he doesn’t just save us
and then say we’ll see you in heaven in
a couple of years
no the the apostle paul said it like
this that god saves us and then he calls
us
with a holy calling
i don’t know if you’ve ever heard this
before but jesus loves you and has an
amazing plan for your life
i don’t know if you know that i don’t
know if you’ve heard that i don’t know
if you believe that but you got to know
that today that god when he saved you he
loved you enough to save you
and he saved you knowing that he was
calling you
oh this is good news because that means
in my immaturity and in my issues and in
my sometimes my bad attitudes amen amen
sometimes praise the lord i’m not always
super saved like i am right now praise
the lord
in my immaturities in my issues god god
calls me
and he’s not surprised by my weaknesses
and he’s not surprised by my struggles
he’s he’s with me in it that god saved
me and he called me this is so unfair to
be a christian
because when you receive christ you
receive purpose
when you receive jesus you receive a
destiny
when you receive god you receive a
future this is this is who god is
and god’s called you today you got to
know that god loves you today god god
has a plan for your life today and if if
god has called you then no one can
cancel you

and if god has called you then it is it
is time to stop waiting another moment
to step into that call
god does not call the qualified he
qualifies the called
and there’s a calling on your life
there’s a purpose on your life there’s a
destiny on your life and you might be
thinking right now yeah but jaben i’m
just i’m just a stay-at-home mom i’m not
a preacher like you no no no there’s no
just stay-at-home moms you’re raising up
world changers and history makers you’re
raising up the next generation jaben i’m
just a you know i’m just a barista at
the coffee no no you’re keeping us alive
dog like we need you
i love you i want to sew into your
ministry i love you
i’m just to this no there’s no just in
the kingdom of god and actually what
makes the pulpit powerful is when the
people say yes to their call that when
there’s a partnership between what is
happening in god’s house and in your
house what’s happening here and what’s
happening out there when we all give god
a collective yes when we all give god a
collective submission to his will and to
his purpose man anything is possible
god wants to use your life this is
this is what he wants to do for you he
told moses moses what’s in your hand
i’ll use that
i’ll use i’ll use whatever you have i’ll
use whatever gift you have whatever
talent you have whatever whatever comes
naturally to you use that for me and
watch what i can do in your life
but in order for god to use this one
life in order for god to
do something through us
the first thing we need is one word
you must have a word from god
god speaks
can i get a witness somebody god god god
is a talker god is
god talks god speaks
god loves to talk to his people god
wants to give you a word let me just
tell you something right now god wants
to give you a word for your family god
wants to give you a word for your future
god wants to give you a word for your
children god wants to give you a word
for your business god speaks please
never forget you do not have to go
through life wondering and wandering
through a fog of what is next god can
actually speak to you things to come he
can prepare you he can talk to you he
can guide you he can lead you he said my
sheep they know my voice and the voice
of a stranger they will not follow
anybody grateful for the voice of god
today god will talk to you i’m not
talking about being flaky or fruity or
god’s not going to tell you what to wear
that god didn’t tell me to wear all
black today i just do this because it’s
a little more slimming praise the lord

god’s doing the work in my life

talking about the spirit of god will

to you about anything that you’re going
through right now you can go to god and
say god i need a word on this situation
man does not live by bread alone natural
alone intellect alone talent alone gift
alone grind alone hustle alone all those
things are great but man does not live
by bread alone he lives by every word
that wants us proceedeth
god will give you a preceding word he’ll
give you a word for right now last
year’s word was great but we’re here now
the word you got 10 years ago awesome
but we’re here right god will talk to
you about 2022. he’ll prepare you for
23. god will speak to you
and i want you to notice what the
scripture said the scripture said the
lord said
the lord said
um
this is god’s introduction to
abraham don’t forget that they’re
meeting for the first time
and he says abram here’s what i want you
to know about me
i want you to know my name my name is
the lord
don’t forget this god is a title
but his name is the lord so so i’m a
human but my name is jabin
god is god but he has a name and this
name lord is the hebrew word yahweh or
jehovah
so when god introduces himself to abram
he says abram i want you to know my name
my name is yahweh one theologian said
that yahweh is god’s most holy and
appropriate name
it’s his preferred name
so when he talks to abram he says abram
here’s what i want you to know about me
i want you to know my name my name is
yahweh here’s what yahweh means it means
uncreated one
pre-existent one
i’ve always been i’ll always be
god capital g above all
g small g gods
lord capital l above all small l lords
abram this is who i am
and i want you to know that here’s why
that’s important because abram was a
polytheist just a little fancy word for
they had a lot of gods for a lot of
different things they needed rain they
wouldn’t talk to the rain god if they
needed food they wouldn’t talk to the
food god if they sarah couldn’t get
pregnant they go talk to the baby making
god
they had to go to war they went and
talked to the god of war they had a god
for every need
and now yahweh introduces himself to his
first man and says abram
can i preach a little bit right now i
feel i feel a little preach on me it’s
already happening i i just need you to
know
i’m the god above all gods and i’m the
lord above all lords here’s what that
means abram when you need food you come
talk to me
and when you need rain you come talk to
me and when you’re going when you’re
going through a drought don’t go down to
egypt you come talk to me with sarah i
can’t get pregnant you come talk to me
you don’t need to settle for all these
little g gods anymore that make you feel
safe and secure in the moment but cannot
do anything for you they make you feel
safe but they’re actually keeping you
small they make you feel safe but
they’re actually destroying your faith
you come talk to me now you come you
come wrestle with me now you come have a
conversation with me now this is why god
would introduce himself a few hundred
years later to moses and say i am
that i am
don’t forget that moses said who do i
tell pharaoh is sending me i need a name
he said i am
you is what
you need healing i am you need
deliverance i am you need freedom i am
you need salvation i am you need wisdom
i am you need direction i am you need
peace i whatever you need me to be
i am and because he is we are healed and
we are saved and we are delivered and we
are filled with the spirit come on does
anybody know this god that i’m
can we have a little church in this
auditorium right now this is the god
that we serve his name is yahweh god and
you don’t have to settle for all these
little g gods anymore that can do
nothing for you but see y’all are
rolling your eyes because you’re going
to be and i know there’s only one god i
know that i
oh no no see we all settle for little g
gods we could settle for the god of
popularity and the god of culture and
the god of greed and the god of lust and
the god of pride and the god of the fear
of man we can all settle at times for
little g gods
but here’s what the bible says about
those little g gods in psalm 115 it says
that they have eyes but they cannot see
and they’ve got ears but cannot hear and
they got mouths that cannot speak and
they got hands that cannot move and feet
they cannot walk and hearts that cannot
understand and here’s one of the most
terrifying scriptures in the bible and
those who worship them will be like them
because right now your life looks like
who you worship

so if you feel dead spiritually it’s
probably an issue of worship
if you feel tired today it’s probably an
issue of worship if you feel burnt out
today it’s probably an issue of your
worship if you feel dead on the inside
it’s an issue of your worship and i want
to tell you today we can it’s time for
the idols to fall it’s time to say no to
those little can i get a witness in here
can somebody stand and just shout with
me for a moment i feel like heaven
church for one moment
we do not worship dead gods we worship
the living god his name is yahweh and
when you worship the living god sarah
your dead womb can come back to life and
when you worship the living god cancer
can be healed and when you worship the
living god you can buy stadiums in your
city and when you worship the living god
god will put favor on your life and when
you worship the living god anything is
possible does anybody know yahweh to be
the living god god above all gods i
think we should give that god our
highest praise
right now

whoa i know him to be real
you can’t talk me out of this
relationship with you can’t talk me out
of it i’ve seen too much i’ve seen
cancer healed i’ve seen tumors disappear
i’ve seen i’ve seen under
supernatural
favor
i’m speechless at what i’ve seen god
that you can tell me anything you want
i know him
i know his voice
i know his presence
you got to know that that that our god
is not a historical rumor
he’s not a religious fairy tale
our god can be known his voice can be
heard
his presence can be felt this is our god
his name is yahweh and god will
speak to you you need a word from god
are you tired today you need a word from
god are you weary today you need a word
from god
marriage a little cold right now you
need a word from god
don’t know what to do with your
teenagers you need a word from god don’t
know if you should be dating this guy
you need a word from god
don’t know if you should propose to this
girl you need a word from god
and god will talk to you
you need a word number number two this
word will lead to
one risk
yes all right
um
he didn’t just say hey abram i’m yahweh
great to meet you let’s just
kick it no
here’s his word
yo abram
leave
into the life of faith
i feel like you all know something about
faith in this church anybody know
something about crazy faith in the okay
are we in the right building okay okay
uh you’re gonna leave you’re gonna leave
what what you know
for what i know
when i say risk it feels risky to us
it’s not risky to god
god doesn’t go hey i’ve called you and
we’re going to go where are we going to
go god and god goes
no
god knows
but you don’t know
so when god speaks to you and it feels
like a risk to you don’t trip
because it’s not a risk to god god knows
exactly what he’s doing
when we planted our church four years
ago we did not know that we were going
to go into a two year long pandemic we
did not know that we didn’t know that we
were going to celebrate our two-year
anniversary and two weeks later be shut
down we didn’t know that but god knew
that
and by the way if god would have told me
that i probably wouldn’t have landed at
the church where this is gonna be keep
it real
i’d have been like lord let’s talk in
2024 jesus
but god knew
so when we entered into the pandemic i
said god knows
and god has a plan for this season
and god has a plan for our church in
this season god has a plan for our
ministry in this season and we were able
to find that plan because it feels like
a risk to us but it’s not a risk to god
listen you can have faith or you can
have control but you cannot have both
let me tell you why a lot of you are
miserable you’re miserable because you
are trying to balance faith and control
and you’re trying to live in the tension
and you cannot live in the tension of
faith and control you must eventually
yield control let go and let god and
trust god that god knows more than you
god has a better plan than you god is
bigger than you god is wiser than you
and you say yeah and it’s so scary in
the moment
every great thing you want in your life
everything
every good thing you want in your life
just just know this it’s outside of your
comfort zone
it’s not in it it’s outside of it
you you cannot be comfortable and live
in your calling
not a lot of amen this church got quiet
do we need the worship team come back
what do we need to do here
yeah because because we want comfort in
calling
we want culture in christ we we want our
life with a little bit of jesus
and he goes you’re gonna have to leave
that comfort zone you’re gonna have to
leave what you know for what i know and
it’s gonna be scary at first but if you
could ever trust me and if you could
ever take the step of faith abram you’re
gonna have to leave and what are you
gonna have to leave he said you’re gonna
have to leave your native you’re gonna
have to leave familiar
when i say leave family i’m not talking
about leave you you know we’re not a
cult we’re not gonna tell you to pledge
allegiance to tc nation you got to leave
that’s not what we’re talking about
we’re talking about you’ve got to leave
familiar
you’ve got to leave everything that
you’ve known
thus far
for the call of god and the plan of god
for your life and it will be scary and
it will be different and it will be
it will be terrifying at moments i’m
talking about terrifying
i’ve seen a lot of people now over 20
years that
they love the lore they walk with jesus
they love jesus they serve jesus and
then you’ll just see them just
leave
just go back to their old life
i’ve seen it with pastors i’ve seen with
some of my
best friends preachers who just like
boom they’re just back in their old life
i don’t think that
happens because they’re bad people
i don’t think i’m still in the ministry
because i’m a good person
i think they go back
because they know it
and it’s just easier
they’re not like evil sinners that you
know fail
they just went back to what they knew
because there was so much comfort in the
years and years and years leading up to
that moment
so they they go back to their they don’t
like their past but they know it
can we be real can you talk back to the
preacher y’all know
they don’t like what they would do on a
friday night but they had something to
do on a friday night
they weren’t proud of what they did on
the weekends but they had something to
do on the weekend they could turn up
they had something to do they were
they didn’t trust their old friend group
but they had a friend group

they’re quiet in here but i know online
right now you’re shouting me down i love
you
are y’all with me
because now you’re coming to church
alone
you never went to the club alone
now you’re having to walk into church
all by yourself
took every ounce of courage just to get
to the house of god and you walk in and
there’s like 50 people with signs
you ready
you’re like i am
trying dawg
i’m just glad to be here i’m just proud
of myself for being here i’m not ready
but i’m just proud to be here
because you’ve left egypt
but you haven’t tasted the promised land
yet
so while you’re in the wilderness
it’s uncomfortable
this is what the children of israel
actually told moses they said moses yo
uh this man in quail like it’s cool but
like we miss the leeks and onions
of egypt
oh by the way moses um we got them at no
cost
no cost
no cost how about 400 years of slavery
how about 400 years of humiliation what
about 400 years of pain and what about
400 years of family separation what
about 400 years of losing your ethnic
identity no cost
that’s like when a homie tells me yo man
the hotel caught me with a free night it
wasn’t free
you’ve lost enough money
at the tables
that they went if i can keep this guy
here he’ll lose more money
but if we’re not careful we will
remember egypt but we’ll glamorize it
and sugarcoat what was
and we’ll start talking about the spice
of our old life the
leaks and onions of our old life and and
it was free it wasn’t free what about
when you went to bed at night and
wondered where did that person go and do
i have a disease now and did i just get
her pregnant and what have i done with
my life and what if people find out and
how am i going to delete the text
messages and what if somebody
it wasn’t free it cost you your dignity
it cost you your pride it cost you your
name it
it cost you
your sobriety it cost you your money
there ain’t nothing good for you back in
egypt
oh some of you have gotten amnesia and
you’ve told yourself how good it was
there
because when you’re in the promised land
eating manna and quail
it could feel kind of bland
but can i remind you see this is for a
different sermon i i wish i could preach
i can’t preach it right now but remember
that with every transition israel got a
new diet

some of you can’t grow till you change
your diet
some of you aren’t going to mature until
you change your diet some of you are not
going to go to the next level until you
take this seriously some of you are not
going to go where god’s called you to go
until you change your diet and so you’re
used to leeks and onions but now you’re
eating manna and quail but if you could
ever just get through this season
there is a land
that is flowing
with milk
and with honey there is a land with
vineyards you won’t have to till and and
wells you won’t have to dig in and
cities you won’t have to build but
you’ve got to make it through the
wilderness

and it’s easy to maybe see me and
especially easy to see pastor michael go
well it’s easy for y’all to preach that
but it wasn’t
we had to serve god when no one was
looking we had to trust god when we were
in the sound board we had to trust god
on the drums we had to honor god when no
one knew our name so that we had a word
when everybody knew our day

anybody grateful for your pastor that
was faithful when nobody saw him
[Applause]
and if you could ever make it through
this moment of the wilderness
there is fruit for you
but you got to take the risk and it’s
scary and it’s new and
it’s uncomfortable and
but there’s a curse for you to break in
your family there’s a curse for you to
break over your life there’s
there’s been too many people who have
lived in egypt with your last name
there’s too many people have wondered
the wilderness with your last name it is
time for you to go into your promising
but you’re gonna have to take that risk
and it’s scary and it’s new and and i
don’t know this new place yet
see
when you preach jesus on a sunday it
feels like hope
this new life in christ feels like hope
but but like by wednesday
it feels like change
it feels like transition
am i the only one
oh today it’s like oh whatever you want
to do lord my life is your jesus
forgive me god i’m gonna do that again
god i love you god
take all my money god by wednesday
you’re like how did they
who took my money how did they
mike got me all riled up and the drummer
started going and i gave all my money
away
because it now feels like change
now it feels like transition
now it feels new
when when abram first got the word you
know the first thing he did is he built
an altar worship god
because when you first get a word it’s
like ah yeah
until you got to start walking it out
and now you got to start building an
altar on monday and you got to start
building an altar on tuesday and you got
to start you got to start loving jesus
on a wednesday and you gotta
and that is
where god does his deepest work
let me just remind you
that it was more comfortable for abram
to stay where he was more comfortable
for david to stay with his sheep more
comfortable for gideon to stay in the
village more comfortable for elisha to
tread his fields more comfortable for
peter to stay on the boat and more
comfortable for the apostles to stay in
jerusalem but nothing great in your life
will happen in a comfort zone
it was more comfortable for me i was a
traveling evangelist who lived in
newport beach california
i don’t know if y’all know anything
about newport beach california but i
think god took the garden of eden and
moved it to newport beach
i’m like breaking out in a sweat
thinking about leaving jesus
god said i want you to go to the
wilderness i want you to go to the
desert i want you to plant a church
and it was so
uncomfortable
then
but the fruit is so rewarding
now
i was so scared then somehow walk up
here just full of faith praise god
what’s up tc nation turn up you better
trust god like me no but
my knees were knocking and my stomach
was turning and my hands were shaking
and
but we but we said yes to the call of
god
and it’s worth it it’s worth it to take
your risk it’s worth it to honor god’s
word it’s worth it to do what the holy
spirit is telling you
to do
so you’ve got to leave the comfort zone
let me let me just remind you of this
too that jesus said the holy spirit he’s
our comforter
a lot of y’all want a move of god
and comfort
but the holy spirit is not going to
comfort
comfortable saints

breathe god spirit of god come
spirit of god move
and god go you move
and if you’ll move i’ll move

and if you’ve been safe see because a
lot of you don’t believe me
but if you’ve been saved long enough you
know i’m telling you the truth
lord bless me move lord speak to me move
take the risk
and then the power of the holy spirit
the comforting work of the holy spirit
he comforts those who are uncomfortable
lastly lastly
you need one move
one move and i’ll have the i’ll have the
team come up
one move

okay here’s his next word y’all ready
for he says and go
why because we’re hard-headed
so we need to hear it again
yo abram you need to leave you got to
leave your country you got to leave your
family you got to leave everything that
you know for what i know you got to
leave okay god um okay and go

and here’s what god says and abram in
your going

a great nation
in your going
there will be a making
and a lot of you are trying to make
something of your life
like if you want to be self-made you do
you
but i want to be god mate
can i get a witness from anybody
i want to be god made up
and in order
for me to be god in order for him to
make something of my life i must go
he says abram go and abram probably
thought to himself god
where
god says i’ll show you
the writer of hebrews in chapter 12
actually gives us or chapter 11 excuse
me actually gives us more revelation
revelation to this text and he actually
says that abraham went without knowing
he went without
knowing
think about it think about it think
about it because we don’t like this
like we’ll obey god if it’s crystal
clear
from where we are to our destination we
want it all mapped out the god goes i
don’t do it that way
god why can’t you do it that way because
if it was perfectly clear
faith would not be required

a lot of you think that the fullness of
the expression of faith is clarity
actually it’s not it’s obedience
i’m not trying to preach you quiet but i
just got to tell you something we we
think when life is just
perfectly
out in front of us that must be
spiritual maturity no spiritual maturity
is obeying what the holy spirit told you
to do last
and in the going there’s a making
where there is
clarity
faith is not required
and i love clarity
i get it sometimes sometimes
i don’t get it a lot but sometimes i get
it and whether it’s clarity faith is not
required
but where there is a lack of clarity
faith is demanded
and god is trying to put a demand on our
faith
god’s trying to grow our faith therefore
he says i want you to go
before you know
and it’s in the going
that i’m making
it’s in the going that i’m growing you
it’s in the going that i’m expanding you
it’s in the it’s in the going that i’m
transforming you
transformation
church i’m i’m doing it in the going
not in the knowing in the going not in
the clarity in the going not in the i
have everything mapped out in the god
told me to go so i’m gonna go
to the place that he shows and he hasn’t
shown me yet and that’s okay i’m gonna
start moving my feet and while i move my
feet in the direction of the last thing
god told me to do day by day step by
step minute by minute sometimes second
by second god is making me and here’s
what he’s doing he’s making my name
great
god wants to make your name great
i’m talking about god wants to bless
your name god wants to bless your family
name god wants to remove the curse off
of your name god wants to remove the
shame off of your name god wants to
remove the poverty off of your name the
sickness off of your name the the sin
off of your name the the generational
things off he said i’m gonna make your
name great what you fought your children
will never have to fight what you’ve
experienced your children will never
have to experience what you’ve gone
through your children will never have to
go through because i’m gonna make your
name great i’m gonna save you from the
uttermost i’m gonna save every part of
you i’m not just gonna save your spirit
i’m gonna save your soul and your body
i’m gonna save your last name when your
children grow up they’re gonna grow up
in the house of god they’re gonna grow
up in the faith of god they’re gonna
grow up in the blessing of god they’re
gonna never know that there was
addiction they’ll never know that there
was poverty they’ll never know that
there was breast cancer they’ll never
know that there was disease they’ll
never know that there was anger they’ll
never know that there was racism they’ll
never know that there was pride they
will only know the blessing of god
because abraham i’m blessing your name
somebody shout to the lord right now i’m
and i’m making you a great nation
i’m going to do something with your

our church this time we were two years

maybe someone on staff got a big mac you

but the spirit of god told me he said
you need to connect to him
and when i told pastor mike that he
looked back at me with
big eyes he goes
god told me to pray for you
that he’ll give you faith for buildings

so i went online that night we sowed
into this ministry and that night pastor
mike prayed for me can i tell you
something happened
we believe that the anointing of god is
transferable and tangible
