hey welcome to this week’s sermon i am

so glad that you are here no matter if

your usual or somebody sent you the link

i believe that god has a message just

right

for your life at this time hey i want to

let you know

that this is a series that is going to

help you

win in relationship and if you want to

take that to another level in resource

i want to let you know relationship

goals is still

out everywhere the book as well as the

study guide and for everybody who’s

already gotten it thank you for being a

part

of changing the world for everybody who

has not bought this from somebody else

they need this in their life and if

you’ve never heard of relationship goals

this book was written to help you win in

relationships

i’m telling you that god cares about

every one of your relationships and we

want to help you win

so this sermon is about to give you

revelation

get ready as we go into this week’s

sermon

listen i know you’re at a home or

wherever you’re watching this from i’m

so

grateful that you have made it to the

last

week of our relationship series

and um i don’t know about you but this

whole thing has been

transforming and revolutionizing our

lives

and the lives of so many and today um i

really do have a word that i want to

share with you before i do that

um the first thing i want to say is that

i miss everybody like i miss seeing

people i miss hugging y’all i’ve missed

taking pictures with y’all

we are praying for you transformation

church i mean there are thousands of you

that have been so faithful in the midst

of this pandemic and

on behalf of myself and natalie again

every week i just want to let you know

that there is not a day that i am not

thinking of you as your pastor that i’m

not praying for you

that we are not seeing or what is going

on and then speaking protection over you

and i just want you to know that that

even in this time

no matter what it looks like no matter

what it feels like we have an anchor and

his name is jesus christ

and even if the storm keeps coming even

if

you don’t know if you’re taking your

kids back to school you got to be their

teacher this year or

or all of these different storms that

are coming god says i will be your

anchor

and before i start anything else

somebody needs to hear that word right

now because you feel like you’re

capsizing

and god says you’re not going to drown

cause i’m

gonna be your anchor somebody just need

to say i have an anchor

come on somebody say i have an anchor

and his name is jesus

and um as we prepare to

to really just go into this next half of

the year um

many of you are new to transformation

church and you just really started

attending in the past year within the

past year

i want to let you know about something

that we do around transformation church

to preserve health and wholeness for our

organization

when i first became the pastor of

transformation church um

my oversight pastor many of you know him

pastor tim ross he’s gonna be preaching

later on

uh this year here at tc and i cannot

wait for you to hear that because it’s

going to be fun

nama no but our oversight pastor he told

us he

he said to me and natalie when you

became become the leaders of this church

i need you every year to take a month

off for sabbatical

and i was like there’s no way i can take

a month off i i

became the pastor in february and he

said yeah in july you need to take a

month off

because you need to rest you need to

get new revelation and you need to

rejuvenate

and literally as i obeyed as i submitted

as i became sub to the mission yes your

pastor is submitted

like this is not something that we’re

just doing whatever we think is god

gives human authority and we listen to

that

and as we’ve been submitted to that it

has been one of the most refreshing

things that has ever happened

our sabbatical usually is in july but

god told me that i needed to finish this

series and today

i’m about to speak a word but in the

month of august

middle of august all the way to

september your pastor’s going to be

resting away i’m not going to be

preaching and you know most

pastors when they start saying these

things they do it secretly like i’m not

going

i’m not going to tell the people listen

y’all know we live transformation church

we hot humble open and transparent i

ain’t hiding nothing for y’all

if i go on a vacation i’ma post a

picture do you hear me no matter of fact

i’m not gonna be on social media

i’m gonna be gone from social media for

30 40 days

why because i need god to fill me up

if we’re going to do everything that god

has said for us to do in the future

i got to get sealed up i got to give

time to my children

and look in their eyes and play legos

and not be worried about a post or

a text or praying for for this or that i

gotta get in that place because if i do

that i believe

that the future of our church we won’t

get to do this for a short period of

time with potency

we’ll be able to do it for a long time

does anybody want to do this for a long

time

okay so so if we’re going to do this for

a long time we have to

create boundaries a sabbath god tells us

to do that weekly

and i’m going to model this in front of

you for everybody that’s freaking out

right now like

chill out this is how we got to this

place of

success and effectiveness relationship

goals the original series

came out of sabbatical planet not buried

was the series god

gave me out of sabbatical crazy faith

is the series god gave me out of

sabbatical y’all missing it

i don’t know what god’s about to do out

of this sabbatical

but i need you to be praying for your

pastor because as i rejuvenate and get

revelation from god

spend time with my family spend time

with my wife spend time

alone just being able to process all god

has done y’all know it’s only been

one year since we uh walked into this

miracle that we’re in right now

god has done so much but i want to be

able to process it

and then get fresh vision everybody say

fresh vision

because once i get fresh vision watch

out

where we’re going as a ministry where

we’re going as a church and so

i’m asking something from you i’m asking

you to be faithful

to god’s house even when the leader

is not here

you all know it it’s it’s some of y’all

have the attitude

past mike ain’t gonna be there then i

ain’t gonna be there i’m a sabbatical

too at the same time here on sabbatical

well the crazy thing about it is this is

an opportunity every year for spiritual

maturity

see the bible talks about us maturing

and going from place to place

only a baby gets fed one way

like a baby is somebody who has to be

fed by a bottle

or a baby but when you become fully

mature it may not be my preference but

if it’s going

to nourish me it may not be the thing

that i’m used to but if it’s going to

keep me

full that’s what i’m going to go towards

and i’m asking you

and i know many of you are going to take

the challenge to spiritually mature

i would not let anybody touch this

platform that is not

hearing from god and i promise y’all

over these next few weeks i have some

of the world’s greatest speakers that

are

coming to speak god’s word to you i

would never

ever let anybody feed the flock

food that was not high quality but i’m

asking you right now

lock in we’re about to start fun month

next week

and it’s going to be themed and we we

have a culture code of fun at

transformation church we enjoy it all

and we’re gonna have games and giveaways

and we’re gonna draw people in

but what i want you to be is open to

what god wants to do through your life

when i’m not here

now most leaders wouldn’t say this to

you because they want the vision to be

built on them

but i want to be very clear about this

this is built on a strong

vision vision not just a strong

individual

and until the church is about the

kingdom and not a king

we will only see incremental growth but

i

am at transformation church this morning

and i know that there are some people

who god told us in january that the word

for the year was

shrunk so we’re getting stronger this

year

so while we’re out i’m asking you to

pray for me and pastor natalie

to pray that god would give us wisdom

insight

increased passion love that our children

would feel surrounded

that as we share ourselves with the

whole world that god would let there be

a unique

um divine presence in our home i’m just

asking you like i don’t ask you for much

but i’m asking you right now

and i’m promising you one thing that

when i step back in this pulpit after

today

i am going to be full of what god has

given me for you

your family and for our future if you

agree with that can you say amen

had to get that out of the way i do not

know how long i’m about to preach again

this sunday but y’all i’m about to go on

sabbaticals so everybody

of a series we’re calling relationship

goals reloaded this is your last chance

oh you already know this has been

one of the most amazing series and i

really believe that

the reason god has allowed this series

to go

viral and allowed people to be able to

consume this con

content all the way from from white

house

all the way to people being on horse

rides and at beaches

and all over the world they’re consuming

this content is because

god wants us to win in relationships

somebody needs to say that god

wants me to win in relationships

somebody needs to say it one more time

by faith god

wants me to win

in relationships and i know for some of

you with all the damage that’s happened

in relationships and all the pain that’s

been caused because of relationship and

all the pain you have caused

because of relationships that seems like

a real

far-off thing but i’m telling you that

if you get the right goal

in your situation and you begin to aim

at that goal

you can reach relationship goals and the

great thing is god does not want you to

do it without him

and that’s why we’ve gone for 10 weeks

in this series and if you

go back and and and you look at um the

the the og i’m calling it or the

original relationship goal series

there’s eight messages there 18 messages

almost 20 hours of content all

facets of relationships to help you win

and then we took it

and god told me to make it my first book

and this right here y’all i didn’t even

really get to tell y’all on

transformation church of steel

but this is a 12-week new york times

best selling book

glory to god

the reason i say glory to god is because

number one god is using the foolish

things to confound the wise

he’s taking somebody who’s never written

a book before and he says i’m gonna pack

it full of content that points people to

me

and then i’m gonna allow it to be able

to be successful in culture

i’m going to take christ and put it in

the middle of culture

there are people calling that don’t want

nothing to do with our jesus

but want to know how we got a new york

time bestseller baby you can’t do it for

us

without jesus and we’re getting able to

witness and share god and we’ve done

devotionals and we’ve done all these

things

why it’s because god is trying to get a

message to his people

and it has to start with people seeing

us as believers actually model

the principles of the word of god and in

this book

and that’s why i am passionate i did not

have this

and it made me make a lot of mistakes

and hurt a lot of people because i did

not know how to aim at the goal

that god wanted for my relationships but

you got me

and today i want us to go deeper into

this thing

so um okay

let’s just go to the bible because today

is it’s going to be kind of emotional

for me

because this is personal today we almost

got out of this series

without hitting this and thursday

morning god arrested me

and gave me a burden to talk about

something but i want to tell you why we

have to talk about it look at john 8 31

let’s go there

jesus said to the people who believed in

him okay these are people who believed

in him

you are truly my disciples if everybody

say if

because everybody wants to be god’s

disciples but they do not want to keep

all of the qualifications that he

requires

to be able to really live this thing out

he said you will be my disciples

if you remain faithful to my teachings

and watch this and you will know the

everybody say truth and the truth will

set you free everybody just shout at me

one more time truth

that’s a cuss word in church most of the

time we want to give

relatively around what happened we want

to give

the pg version of what really is going

on we want to give

the quotation version of i’m struggling

i’m going through um we’re friends

but what’s the real everybody say truth

and i think the problem in the body of

christ right now

is we try to pacify everybody so we

don’t say the real truth

we try not to offend every anybody

and try to make everybody comfortable oh

if you say what it really is well

that’s where the enemy gets to win he

gets to win

in darkness in silence and obscurity

because we don’t tell the full truth

and today i’m coming to tell the truth

i’m not going to allow this series to

end

without a skirting and with us skirting

around the real issues

that are plaguing people right now

because god

says the truth will set you free

and the problem with the body of christ

is most people do not have freedom

the the problem is they come to the

altar they get prayed for they heard a

sermon that felt good

and they feel better they don’t have

freedom

i pray for people and counsel people

that they listen to the message they

they pray with the pastor like today i

feel better

but but you’re not free and the reason

that many people are not free is because

they don’t start with the first

ingredient of freedom which is truth

and this is what god says he says these

people was like yo we’re not we’re not

bound

these same people the same people that

if i’m talking to you right now you’re

listening on your couch

you’re thinking this is for somebody

else but watch this right now they said

but we’re descendants of abraham

we’ve never been slaves to anyone what

do you mean you will be set free that’s

what people think right now

the religious spirit makes you think

that somehow

if you have given your life to christ or

if you

watch church or if you give an offering

there’s no way i can be bound but god is

talking to people

who have been believers but they’re

still bound

jesus replied i tell you the truth

everyone who sins is a slave to sin

so everyone who’s dealing with

your private missing the mark it’s funny

we’re talking about relationship goals

and all the word sin means is missing

the mark

it’s like there’s a goal and you

completely miss it he said

everybody who sins is a slave to sin

and then he goes on to say a slave is

not a permanent member of the family

but a son is a part of the family

forever he’s talking about himself now

he’s saying

i’m a son so if the son if i set you

free

you are truly free yes i realize that

you’re the descendants of abraham and

y’all are religious and you think you’re

better than everybody

and yet some of you are trying to kill

me right now

kill my words right now kill the

transformation i want to do in your life

right now because

watch this this is so important because

there’s no room

in your heart for my message

god began to tell me he said michael the

freedom that people need

is available it’s standing right in

front of them

it has already been paid for but when i

come to give my message

some people have no room in their heart

to receive the message that would free

them

and this was me for years playing in

church

singing hallelujah helping other people

but i had a loud culture my own opinions

people’s ideas to feel my heart so every

time god tried to come and pour into my

heart

there was no room for his message and

before i

start today i’m asking somebody right

now to make

room for the truth because if your heart

is

full of it and i don’t know what it is

for you but some of us

our hearts are full of culture our

hearts are full of ideas

our hearts are full of pain god says i

need you to release that

so i can put a message in you that will

actually give you

freedom and freedom is what you really

want

freedom is what you’re really looking

for freedom from the ideas

and the hurts and the pains and the

bondages somebody shot at me freedom

i’m telling you right now that if you’re

full of it

it hinders you from receiving the

message of jesus

some of us are full of lies but it’s not

the truth full of opinions but it’s not

the truth

full of ideas but it’s not the truth

full of traditions

oh yeah i’m talking to some of my older

seasoned saints because you live what

this young boy don’t tell me

you the same way you’ve been for 30

years and you’re still

bound because you’re full of tradition

but not the truth you’re full of your

experiences

that you’ve now believed is the truth

because it’s what you experienced but it

was formed in a lie and so it’s still

not the truth

well pastor mike what is the truth

like no no no no maybe you should ask

who is the truth because the truth has a

name his name is jesus

and john 14 6 tells us this is so

gangster because god tells you by

himself he says jesus told them he said

i am the way if you need another name

for me aka the

truth and if you need one more i am the

life no one can come to the father

except through me write down my first

point because this is the precursor to

what i really want to talk about

jesus is the truth

so if you read that scripture again and

you will know the truth

and the truths will set you free it

could also read

and you will know jesus and jesus will

set you free

so if that’s the truth if i go around

the room and virtually into your room

and ask how many people actually know

jesus

tons of hands would go up but then if i

ask how many people are actually free

tons of hands would go down but i know

jesus but i’m still bound

that means that i must not know him in

the way that he wants me to know him

and i have not been able to experience

the true freedom that he gives

i’m going to help somebody today write

this point down

the truth requires the truth let me put

it a little different

the truth jesus requires the truth

my real story

this is what i want to get to if the

truth sets you free

have you ever told anybody the real

story

if the truth jesus can set you free

he requires you to be truthful

and that means you got to tell your real

story uh-oh

this is where people start logging off

uh this is where people start logging

off

cause if somebody really knew the real

story the depths of

def divisive and perverted thoughts

if they really know what you thought and

you typed if they really knew and most

of us

have not been real with the one who

already knows it

so today i thought i would model it

i told y’all that this would be the most

vulnerable message because

i honestly don’t care what happens after

this because i’ll be able to

really you know how people be like i’m

living my truth i’m living my truth that

usually is an excuse for people to say

whatever they want

and not feel bad for whose feelings they

hurt in the thing

today i’m actually gonna model living in

your truth

i have a public confession to make

and um thousands of people are watching

and i’m just gonna say it i have been

in abusive relationship for over two

decades

i’ve been in an abusive relationship

for over two decades and it has not been

with pastor natalie

i’ve been with another

and today i’m calling names

because this relationship almost robbed

me of everything

that god promised me

and the person i’ve been in an abusive

relationship with

her name is pornography

and the crazy thing about it is i’m not

the only one

that she’s been visiting

there are thousands if not millions of

people watching this right now

and you’ve been in the same abusive

relationship thinking you were the only

one but being damaged from the inside

out

and today i’m coming to put

this nasty foul

spirit that has been walking

secretly the halls of people’s

minds thoughts and relationships

ravaging families and generations

and i am coming to put it on front

street today

and that thing on the inside of you

that’s uncomfortable

it’s that spirit trying to bind you but

today

i am coming to tell the truth

that this foul spirit that has crept its

way into the church

into the pulpits behind every musician

behind every camera operator behind

every children’s church worker

behind everything that has been trying

to slowly

steal the virtue and the purity i feel

the presence of god coming on me today

i will stand in the full authority that

god has given me as a minister of the

gospel

of jesus christ and i’m exposing

this silent killer of relationships

i’m talking to you pornography

and the ramifications that have come to

change

people’s minds and today

i’m going to expose you for everything

you took me

through this is personal

this is so personal and i’m gonna expose

you so that other people

may be able to have light or revelation

on their relationship because there’s

some people watching right now

pornography that you have so jacked up

that they think this is not for them

that they think that that movie with

those scenes in it don’t affect them

they’re so desensitized to the crap you

don’t put them through

that they’re allowing it to perpetuate

to their children

but today by the power of the holy

spirit

i stand and i call you what you are

you’re a demonic spirit that is coming

to desensitize and dehumanize

god’s children and today

i’m serving you notice that you will

no longer be able to run ravage on god’s

people i need

i don’t know who you are but you need to

by faith just begin to praise god

you will no longer be able to keep us

bound you will no longer

be able to keep us quiet we’re about to

expose this

foul spirit i am about to go off right

now because

this crap had me trapped for two decades

doing everything god saves to do but

still going home and being drawn to the

lust of my flesh

in a way that would rob me of my purpose

and my future

this relationship with pornography it

suffocated my destiny

it destroyed my marriage before it even

started

it built such insecurities in me that i

lost

my own freaking identity

and i know you don’t hear no pastors

talking about it because they’re

probably struggling with it

and i know it’s un it’s unusual to have

somebody come this straight forward

uh uh this straight forward with it but

there’s so many people

that you pastor every week that we’re

talking about the surface issue

and the real issue is there’s this

subtle

this subtle silent sludge that’s on the

ground floor of all of their decisions

that is

on the bottom belly of all of their

beliefs

and it dirties and muddies the purity

that god called us to

how do you know pastor mike because i

lived it

i stood catering to pornography

for years and today

i’m asking the holy spirit to give me

wisdom i told the team before i came out

here i said this is like seeing your

abuser face to face

this is that crap that almost cost me

natalie and isabella and mj

and ava why are you emotional pastor

mike because i was trapped in it for so

long

and i was around people and they saw

everything that i did but they didn’t

know what i was struggling with

and i just want to come out here it may

be just for one person but there are

images

and ideas and videos and thoughts and

things that have been in your mind

as you’re just trying to move past it

and keep going and keep praising god and

moving forward my best days are ahead

it continues to keep you in a place

where the enemy can keep you in shame

and keep you in guilt and keep you in

doubt and have a little secret thing

that you just know how to do when you’re

stressed or to release yourself or to be

able to get

off of this anxiety high or just be able

to feel

something i’m coming to talk about the

compromise

of porn that’s the title of my message

today

and we almost made it out of this series

and that thing was going to be able to

ravage some people’s lives

for another two years until we did this

series again but no

i’m standing in the authority that i

mean god woke me up at

5 30 on thursday morning and he says if

you don’t fight porn

people will die and so today i’m

standing here

and it’s emotional because i’m i’m

having to put myself out there

in a full way but if my truth

will set somebody free

it’s all worth it father i’m asking you

right now

i got to pray right now father i’m

asking you right now that you would

penetrate the hearts of people

that you would word my mouth father god

i’m doing exactly what you asked me to

do father and i thank you because of it

by the power of the holy spirit people

are coming out of darkness

and they will be brought into your light

in the name of marriages will be saved

from this message right now

people who are single that have been so

steeped in this father god

there’s freedom coming to them right now

god i thank you right now for your

presence being evident and you’ve given

us wisdom

in jesus name amen somebody say amen

so let me give you some truth because a

lot of people like that’s not my issue i

clicked on the wrong live stream today i

promise you pornography

is either affecting you and you don’t

know it or it’s affecting the people you

love and you don’t know it

what percentage of christians men and

women do you think

view porn monthly this statistic treat

me out these aren’t just

unbelievers these aren’t people who are

just in the world because you know they

don’t even care like

people that are in the world they just

you know that’s just some breasts that’s

people having sex this is

it ain’t a real movie unless they got a

sex scene and it explicit and all this

other stuff

like so they don’t even i’m talking

about christians

people that show up and give and serve

how many people do you think according

to a study that was done a year ago

64 of all christian men

and 15 of all christian women admit

to viewing porn every month

let’s go even deeper men are generally

more vulnerable

um in this area but the sad truth is

every day it’s increasingly

being more prevalent and vulnerable for

women

and they usually get into it for a

different reason usually

it starts with comparison insecurity

and curiosity they’re going to try to

find out how i can do something better

to please my man or how i can learn to

do something it starts off a lot of

times

educational and they don’t understand

but that quickly

they can get trapped into that same um

um entanglement with this idea of

pornography

nearly nearly 40 million americans

view porn monthly

40 million if you’re the right age

between the age of 18 and 30 raise your

hand in your homes on 18 to 30. okay

people in the room 18 to 30.

the statistic goes up 79

of men between the age of 18 to 30

watch porn every month out of

every 10 men seven of them are watching

porn consistently

now you’re going to tell me that the way

you treat people

is not affected by what you’re viewing

you’re going to tell me that the way you

look at people

and the way that you process what

they’re doing is not affecting

or is not affected by this check this

one this one tripped me out

the barna group researched and said that

50 56 of young people

believe that not recycling is immoral

so if you don’t recycle your morals are

jacked up

but out of that same group of people

only 32

believe pornography is immoral

so it’s more morally right for you to

put a

plastic bottle in a can and put it on

the corner than to view two people

having all types of sexual um encounters

that’s that’s the world we live in okay

where did porn come from it can be

traced back and i’m doing this for all

the science nerds for people like well

tell me where

where porn came from porn kane can be

traced back to to uh 80 79

when in the ruins of pompeii and what

they found was the first erotic

um paintings and depictions of various

sexual acts to cause sexual

arousal it proves that porn was around

even in biblical times

well what does the bible say about porn

the word pornography as constructed in

the english language

is not in the bible but the two root

words are

pornea and graphi the greek word

pornea however appears so many times

in the new testament and i want you to

write down this word because it’s where

we get

the word prostitute it’s where we get

the word pornographic

or pornography from pornea means

prostitution

whoredom fornication adultery or

sexual immorality it’s like a catch-all

word when it’s used in the bible for

anything that is perverse or wicked and

the word wicked all it means is things

that are turned

like it’s something you ever seen wicked

furniture it’s a bunch of

ties and twists that’s the enemy’s whole

idea to take something that was straight

and to twist it to take something that

was uh

the right way and to make it something

that’s what perversion looks like

and and that’s what the enemy came to do

in the garden when he said

he is that what god said

all he was trying to do was pervert or

twist or distort

or or twist around make it wicked and

i’m telling you that it’s so slight but

it’s so deadly

and the bible talks about this word

pornea being where we get prostitution

from

and this thing comes to visit some of

the greatest men and women of god in the

bible

people like david people like solomon

and today i want to talk about one

that i feel like we can draw some some

conclusion out of i want to talk about

samson

y’all remember samson samson who was so

strong he was a judge in israel

he was so strong and he ruled and he

could do mighty feats and he had long

hair and he never cut his hair because

he took a nazarite vow

that said i’m devoted to god and i won’t

be around strong drinks and i won’t

touch dead animals and i’ll do these

certain things to keep my life devoted

to you

like many believers do when they start

off very strong but what ended up

happening

is that samson had some issues with

pornea or pornography of his day

or the lust of his flesh look at it in

judges 16 verse 1 it says one day

samson went to the philistine town of

gaza

and spent the night with a prostitute

word soon spread that samson was there

so the men of gaza gathered together and

waited

all night at the town’s gate they kept

quiet during the night saying to

themselves

when the light of the morning comes we

will kill him but sampson stayed in bed

only until midnight he woke up and he’s

like oh snap i need to get up

out of here then he got up took hold of

the doors of the town gate because they

usually locked him at night so some

nobody could get in and nobody could get

out

so he didn’t have the key so he took the

gates

including the two posts this was how

strong he was he

lifted them up by the bar and

all and put them on his shoulders and

carried them all the way to the top of

the hill across

the hebron let me help you understand

what’s happening right now

this is a man who has strength and

success beyond measure

but he still has an achilles heel

of sexual perversion can i help

you it doesn’t matter how much money you

make it doesn’t matter how many

followers you have

it doesn’t matter how many zeros are in

the bank it doesn’t matter who calls you

boss or boss man or boss lady

if you have an achilles heel that the

enemy can keep you in

he will use it every time to draw you

back

and what he’s trying to do right now is

still walk in the full power and the

strength that god

gave him and still dabble with the

things that bring him back

and i know you judging him right now but

if we can take a peek inside of your

life

how many things are we acting like god

is doing and we’re strong in this area

but there is some achilles heel there’s

some perversion

there is something that the enemy keeps

pulling on because we’re still doing it

in the middle of the night

he didn’t get up in the middle of the

day it said he laid with that thing in

secret

and people found out about it and he

woke up in the middle of the night and

he tried to sneak out of the bed he paid

to be in

and i don’t know who i’m talking to

right now but many of us are trying to

and this is what happens to samson

is deceptive it never

looks like what it really is

sexually it always over promises

and under delivers

little porn it’s just a little idea it’s

just a little taste it’s just a little

sip

it’s just a little and and it always is

gonna make it feel better it’s always

gonna take us to the climax it always

is gonna make us be who we’re supposed

to be for that moment yolo we only live

live my life

and what it ends up doing is it takes

what is valuable from you and leaves you

to your own devices

i was studying the ancient eskimo and

how they would catch

wolves the ancient eskimo to catch a

wolf

would take fresh blood and put it on a

post

and it would put the blood on it and

then it would put water on it and freeze

it

and then it would put another layer on

the sharp post

and then it would put um water on it and

and they would do this thing over and

over again and on the last thing

they would put a fresh coat of blood and

then they would stick it in the ground

and what they would do is they would go

back in

and wait because what happens is the

wolf had a keen sense of smell

and it would smell the fresh blood on

and it would keep licking it until

unbeknownst to the wolf he had already

and he’s licking his own blood

of so many of our lives that are robbing

us from our relationship goals

we go with what we feel we lick this

is the only sin that we commit that is

not against anybody else

it’s against ourselves

and you think it’s something that only

you can feel

and it’s not harming anybody yes it is

gradually lets you kill you

that’s all it does well i just want to

and all it does is it lets your lust

it lets you kill you how do you know

god had put on my life

temptation comes from our own desires

attracted to those things that’s

y’all think that’s sacrilegious and all

and so if somebody brings in a bunch of

seafood

my desire for that thing

is null and void i’m actually

sometimes depending on how strong it is

i’m disgusted by it

because in me i don’t have desire for it

but if you bring

some chinese food orange chicken kong

bao chicken

general souls chicken you bring honey

chicken any chicken

and i get a whiff of that the only way i

can be enticed is if there was a seed of

it on the inside of me

and a lot of people try to blame their

situations on it and i understand there

are situations where we are exposed to

things too early and all those different

things because we are sinful beings

there’s already a seed of that on the

inside of us

so i only can be drawn away by what’s

already

in me

this is what they didn’t tell me in

youth group this is what they didn’t

tell me at church

this is what they didn’t tell me as an

adult i’ve been in church

all my life and i’ve never heard a

message on pornography

not one time yet it was the main thing

that was draining me of the life that

god promised me

so this is what happened to samson

because because how did sam get here

like how did he get to the point this

strong man now being carried away

and just following his flesh well it’s

because i found something out and that’s

why you can’t just read a story of the

bible you really really need the whole

chapters of the bible so you can get

context for what was happening i went

back

to um um chapter 14 and judges and what

i found out is that sam

was was ready to get married and and

found this beautiful woman

and he got married to her and at the

wedding they used to have a week-long

feast

what happened was his wife betrayed his

trust and

and she told some of her friends like

the bridal party a secret about him that

really made

him feel horrible what ends up happening

and he was like i’m done with this

and he at that night he didn’t even

spend the night with her he went to live

back with his mama and daddy

and because of the pain he went back to

the thing that was comfortable to him

and what happened was then the wife just

a few days later marries the best man

from the wedding

she was like ah you never mind i’m gonna

go with jerome anyway because he killed

okay and so she goes over here and

marries him and now

to feel the void that was there

that’s how he ends up in the bed

of prostitutes

there’s always a root

there’s always a reason maybe you don’t

know it maybe you haven’t taken the time

to actually sit down and discover it but

there is

always a route to why you go to

images and videos and ideas to fulfill

the thing that you feel like you’ve been

robbed of let me put it to you in a

point

pornography is always rooted in some

unhealed pain

every time you get addicted or watch

pornography you’re trying to fulfill

a void that cannot be fulfilled

by that foul thing

and that’s why you have to keep going

back to it because it’s like

when you’re thirsty and you get a

quarter a cup

a little shot glass of lemonade number

one lemonade make you thirsty anyway so

like you drink some lemonade you want

more lemonade

i don’t know if i’m the only one but i

can drink a gallon of lemonade and still

be thirsty

like like it’s like that it says you

keep going to it but what you really

need is water maybe living water

and i came to encourage somebody who’s

been steeped with these thoughts and

images and ideas and lifestyle and now

it’s played out in action

we need to go back to the root baby by

the power of the holy spirit

we are going to find the thing that

allowed you to be hurt

the thing that violated you the thing

that left you with a void

and we’re going to put jesus in that

void today and we’re going to believe

that god will fill you up

but you won’t ask god to fill you up if

you don’t think you’re empty

you won’t ask god to heal something that

you haven’t revealed

and that’s why we have to walk in truth

that’s why some of you for the first

time today are going to admit you

struggle with this

some of you for the first time today are

going to admit

why you’ve been distant from your wife

or your husband come on i’m talking

about real stuff right now

your wife is sitting in the room and can

please you but you’re in the bathroom

masturbating because there’s a pain of

rejection

you used to be rejected and so that one

time when she was on her cycle and she

said that she didn’t want to have

anything or she

she was having a bad day or something

was going on i got to talk about real

stuff right now because i counsel these

people right now

and what ends up happening is now you

get more comfort by going

and sneaking away with pornography when

you can have the real thing in the room

but because there’s an unhealed pain

there

and some of you convince yourself like i

convinced myself what’s better to watch

pornography and masturbate and do all

these things because i’m really not

hurting anybody

else but you’re hurting the only person

that will be connected to anybody else

yourself pornography is the only thing

that could rob me and have me comparing

my wife to people that we don’t either

one of us

ever know we don’t even know these

people now i’m comparing her

to things that aren’t real that are

edited that are

are are done in multiple takes and do

all of these different things oh

i’m about to be real in here today

people who are augmented

and blown up and plastic filled and

pushed down and all this other stuff

and i allow these images to go into my

mind and my heart

and now i am comparing the best thing

that ever happened to me

to something that never actually

happened

but i want to empathize with you if

you’ve ever been stuck in pornography

there is some unhealed pain there that

it’s rooted in

let me be honest with you my first

introduction to pornography was before

the age of five years old

we were in a hotel traveling on the road

doing ministry with my parents

and what ended up happening was those

movie channels

turned from flubber and space jam

and it went to freaky kong and

uh uh let me stop

and i can’t explain what happened but i

saw

something that made me feel something

i’ve never felt before

and i didn’t have the ability at that

moment

because i knew it was wrong but it felt

so right

i didn’t have anybody to tell the truth

to or i didn’t feel like i had anybody

to

tell the truth to and from that mo

five years old y’all my daughter’s six

right now she’s about to be seven

like i want you to think how young five

years old is

i want you to think how many things now

are shaped now when i’m walking up to a

lady

and you can ask my parents from a young

age i always had a fascination with

boobs

my mama said yes you did i would walk up

to ladies and gentlemen oh

so sweet person michael not past michael

at the time oh

so sweet michael and they would hug me

and i would find my hand down in their

shirt

and be trying to feel something

those images made me

curious about something that i

had to explore and from the age of five

years old

i started this war with

this image in my head

and some of us right now are 30 years

old 40 years old

18 years old 55 year old 60 and you’re

still

warring an image that you saw

in your head and then it progressed

we got older and the only time i’m just

gonna tell it all

in middle school we used to go to barnes

and nobles

to look at books because we didn’t have

the internet the internet was like

coming

up like and you had to have real money

money to have the internet back then

and so we would go to barnes and nobles

and i was just so curious and

mischievous

and i i saw that there was a section of

magazines that had plastic on them

and i was like what is the why is this

why is there uh

let me just and i pulled one down and i

looked at it and

playboy and hustler and see when you

when you open yourself to that type of

thing everything else comes with

it so immediately my mind says i got to

see this

i want more images i’m not satisfied

there’s not enough i want to see

everything and what i did was i would go

get an espn magazine and back then an

espn magazine was a big old magazine

i’m telling all the secrets it was a

huge magazine and so i would take an

espn magazine and i’d put the

pornography magazine in the middle of it

and i would go to the children’s area of

barnes and nobles on yale

i’m exposing you today you devil i i

can’t i

and i would spend hours looking at women

and looking at men and looking at all

kinds of things and

and all this other stuff and then it

progressed to when i was in

in middle school in the locker room and

then boys would start

bringing pictures that they found and

their dad and all this stuff and it

became a cesspool

of images and thoughts and ideas and

then little girls

would come and flash us in the locker

room they would run by during p.e and

they would flash us and

now it wasn’t just on paper it was in

real life and now

i get to see real breast and and that

color and that size and this

all this other stuff and what it did

while i was supposed to be doing math

while i was supposed to be doing english

while i was supposed to be finding out

who i was in my identity in christ

i became obsessed with these images and

these thoughts

and these ideas and the varieties and

those people i would see people in

clothes and i wouldn’t even see them in

clothes

i would be trying to figure out what’s

under those clothes what type of bra did

they have on did they have on a thong or

boy shorts did they have

because all of these images and they was

silent the whole time

this was all happening in the background

not one word

spoken over out of my mouth but

everything running in my head because it

was actually in my heart

what do you need prayer for michael

doesn’t need prayer for school

every youth camp every

every church event i just want to pray

that i stay focused

i was not telling the truth

the truth would be what do you need

prayer for i have the images and a

sexual addiction

and things that i keep going for and i

make room for it and i’m trying to stop

but i don’t have anybody to tell and the

enemy kept me in a lie of secrets

and he kept me in a lie that was

spiraling down

and it was slowly seeping me of purpose

it was slowly taking away my desire to

progress

i didn’t want to do anything even that i

was good at

i wanted to just do the thing that

satisfied my flesh at the moment

and this went on for years until we got

dial up aol

internet and i was doing music and my

dad i remember him coming in and saying

mike do you need internet for your music

stuff and i said yes sir

i definitely need internet for my music

stuff

but one of my friends had told me that

on the internet you could find pictures

and not just pictures they took it up a

level that you could find videos

of people producing because i had to

imagine everything

before but now i could see it for real

and i remember setting alarms to wake up

at two o’clock in the morning

are those noises are but if you had aol

dial up

that mug told on you by yourself

young you’ve got mail that mug was loud

and i would i would dial up and then i

would just type in whatever my mind

thought

and there would be images that come up

down this path

us that god’s will is for me to be holy

to stay away from all sexual sin better

better said than done that’s hard

and then it progresses do you get cell

phones

and i loved the iphone but it was the

worst thing that ever happened for my

sexuality

i love the access that it gave me

to different things but then the access

that it gave me

started to kill my destiny because i

could be in the back seat of the car

with fred hammond playing

with blessed on the radio and i could be

back there with the silent off on my

phone looking up pornography

and every parent that’s shocked right

now

calm down that phone you gave your kid

when they were nine

they’ve seen pornography let me help

bust this bubble in church

we will live in the truth

what ends up happening from there it

becomes habitual i have it everywhere

that i go

like i don’t have to really it’s pouring

in the pocket

no accountability nobody to share it

with only get with friends who do the

same type of thing so now i have

accountability in the wrong thing

i have community in the wrong thing

and what ends up happening it leads you

down a path

that robs you and i came to a point

where

i had to realize the video would never

fill the void

visual would never fill the void i was

insecure as a young man as talented as i

was i was a lot more chubby

back then and people used to make fun of

me sometimes and i turned that in and i

never really

i never really talked about it people

used to make fun of my nose and how big

my nose was and

all this different stuff and i would

have insecurity about certain things

that made me say i will not approach a

young lady

i will not go towards them i will

satisfy myself and that pushed me that

was the pain

that pushed me to pornography

and you think you’re talking about your

kids and saying little things about them

oh that’s just a joke what are you

pushing them to

you think that you think that all day

they get they fine

this is just how our family is we just

talk what are you pushing them to

you may never you may be dead before

they ever tell anybody out of their

mouth

what they’ve been doing to try to fill

the void of the lies and the death that

you spoke into them in the name of a

joke

and what ended up happening is that the

people around me

and me not having my identity formed in

christ because i was so young

when those images came in it pushed me

to pornography to where it had a hold of

me

i was bound by that thing for years the

same way

this strongman samson was bound and all

it takes is a bound person meeting a

right opportunity

to meet their demise let me say it again

a bound person

with the right opportunity they will

meet their demise look at it in judges

16 verse 4

some time later we don’t know how long

samson

fell in love with the woman named

delilah

now this is already after pornea or

pornography or sexual immorality already

had his heart

then the opportunity met his damage

and her name was delilah she lived in

the valley of zurich

the rules of the philistines the rulers

of the philistines went to her and said

entice samson we know he got an issue we

know there’s some secret thing

we seen him with the prostitutes we know

there’s something that’s drawing him

away

something in him he said entice him and

tell him tell us

what makes him so strong and how we can

overpower him

and and tie him up securely and each of

us will give you a

1 100 pieces of silver i did the math on

it

there were five people who said this it

was 5 500

um a little more than 500 pieces of

silver it would have been the average

when you do the calculation to 31 years

worth of yearly wages

they were about to pay her to entice him

so delilah said to samson please tell me

what makes you so strong

and what it would take to tie you up

see this goes on

three more times and samson

is so comfortable in his delusion

that he doesn’t even realize that he’s

compromised

i call this message the compromise of

pornography

because that word compromise is an

interesting word

the first part of it is comp which means

free like if i go somewhere and they’re

like i’m giving you something

complimentary this is comp like

here’s a drink here’s a room that we’re

comping and so what happens with

pornography

is it’s something that makes you think

it’s free that it’s not

hurting anybody that is something that’s

innocent this is a comp

visual i’m not really doing it to

anybody this is

really not doing it it’s comp but then

it says the

last part of that word is promise and

what you’re doing

is that you’re giving away for free the

promise

that god has for you you are compromised

you are in a place that you don’t even

realize

that you are handing over destiny that

you are willingly giving up your

children

that you are that you are standing

and handing over the freedom that christ

gives you

the comp is actually

giving away your promise compromise

and you can be so twisted in sexual

perversion and thoughts and images you

ain’t even watched in a long time

but you never dealt with the root of the

thing that you were dealing with

so it’s just sitting underlying there

are people that are married right now

and you can’t figure out why your sexual

life

is not going to another level it’s

because it’s not just you and him laying

in that bed

there are so many people that are

weighing down that bed

that’s why ah that’s why that’s why some

of you can’t figure out why you can

never commit right now

studies show that there are many men

that are right now

that have erectile dysfunction that

cannot be able to perform or be

attracted to a woman

because they spent years with

pornography

pleasing themselves that they are more

attracted to the idea of a woman than an

actual one

and what ends up happening is this is

actually i want you to see how stupid

the enemy is

this is actually coming against the

actual creation process of humanity

if god can keep men away if the devil

can keep men

away from their god-given reproductive

um relationships that they’re supposed

to be in he cuts

off a generation from being born because

they will not be intimate with the uh

they will not be intimate with a woman

and these are the lies you can get

so stuck in this stuff where it’s more

pleasing to please yourself

then to sacrifice for another

samson gets so deep in this thing that

he’s just toying with delia

so much so where the truth comes out in

the midst of deception

remember i talked about the truth be

careful when you get so comfortable in

deception that then you feel comfortable

to tell the truth

he’s laying in the lap of his assassin

get that picture he’s laying in the lap

of pornea he’s laying in the lap

of his downfall and ends up telling her

yeah my secret is is if you cut my hair

all my strength

goes and she rocks him to sleep

the same way that pornography has walked

our generation to sleep

it’s not a big deal but it is eroding

all your relationships

you can’t even hire a woman at your

company without thinking in pure

thoughts about her

just rocked us to sleep so normal now

it’s so it’s so it’s it’s just something

we have to live with this is just

being a man this is just being a woman

like this is what we have to live with

and it’s rockless to sleep

and the philistines came in look what

they did look what they did

they cut off his hair and then they

gouged out his eyes

the gates they went to the place of

vision

and that’s why pornography is so deadly

because it goes through the gates

it takes over all of this

through the ice that’s why

i got to give you this point what

pornography leads to

is more dangerous than pornography

leads to perversion

and what people don’t understand

is that pornography is the gateway to

you leaving a perverted

life a twisted life

i’m gonna explain it to you because many

the bible tells us in proverbs 14 12

that there is a path before each person

that

seems right but it ends

in death

so what i found out in my journey and i

hope that this truth

brings you life today because i wish

somebody would have told me

i wasted 20 years

i wasted 20 years i could have been

helping people

i could have been perfecting my gift i

could have been working on what god had

called me to

but i wasted 20 years in this cycle

on this journey that seemed right to me

in this cycle of

messing up and coming back and doing all

this other stuff

but it was leading me to a life of

perversion that i did not know if i

could come back out of

if i wouldn’t have found the grace of

god but perversion

does not start with perversion that’s

why pornography

is so devastating because what

pornography he gives you

is a prevision

pre

vision

when i’m looking at pornography

i’m getting a pre-vision

of something god wants for me out of the

context that he designed it in

so when i see that image or see that

magazine or i see that video

it’s giving me a foresight or a

foreknowledge

of what i’m supposed to have but in the

wrong

context that’s why you have to stop

pornography

at the sight of it that’s why if you see

that it says nudity or if you see tvma

those things used to make me want to

watch i watch more dumb movies

because i saw a n for nudity and tvma

and xxx the movie was the dumbest thing

in the world i

wish i could get my time back but what i

wanted was a pre-vision

a pre-vision that was distorted by

culture

distorted by somebody else who was hurt

and what happens

when you walk through a prevision is you

do not

have the vision that god has for you

and i walked through a pre-vision and i

would watch pornography every night when

i came home

and what happened when you walk through

the door of pre-vision

what you do is give the enemy watch this

you give the enemy permission

yup the enemy can’t come in unless you

let them

and many of us

have given the enemy permission

so when i see pornography the first

thing i do

is i walk through the door of a

pre-vision oh this is how women and men

are supposed to act

oh this is how we’re supposed to connect

oh this is how i’m supposed to talk to a

woman

oh this is the lingerie she’s supposed

to wear oh this is how their boobs are

supposed to look

oh this is how long their thing is

supposed to be oh this is how

and i get a pre-vision not a

god-ordained vision

not something that god gave to me i get

a pre-vision

from a pervert and i walk through the

door

and when i walk through the door i give

the enemy permission

to plant any image that he wants to in

my head

to normalize the thing that god says is

bad and evil

and make that something that i want to

do and the thing that god

says to all of you is the greatest thing

that he gave you was choice

so when you step into the attacks of the

enemy

you still have a choice you don’t have

to be overtaken

by this that’s why he says in the word i

place before you

life and death and then gives you the

answer to the test

choose life don’t give it permission to

come in because if the enemy gets

permission

not from anybody else but from you

that pre-vision turns into permission

and i walk through the door

and no matter what anybody else says

those little thoughts the thing i saw at

five

the thing that i saw at 12 the thing

that i saw at 18

the thing that tried to follow me into

marriage what happens is

you start making this one is dangerous

you start making provision

yup

you start making provision for the enemy

now let me go back and give you

an and a definition see because you got

a pre-vision

yeah this pre-vision right here this was

the thing that you didn’t mean to see

this is the thing that somebody exposed

you to an uncle or a cousin

like you can’t you can’t do anything

with this it happened to you the

pre-vision

but after the pre-vision you get a

choice to make

and most people act like the permission

wasn’t their choice but this is your

choice

and permission means you give consent or

authorization to

and i was too young i didn’t understand

it i had nobody to talk to

those pre-visions that came on the movie

channel the pre-visions that i saw in

playboy magazines they turned into me

feeling like i had to give it permission

like i was left out like i didn’t know

enough to be in a relationship that’s

what the enemy will try to do

well how are you going to be with one

person or how you got you need to know

more that’s how he’s trapping a lot of

the ladies

like you don’t want to be somebody who

don’t know what to do and know how to

flip it and twerk it and dirk it and

nerk it

and so you need you need to find out

some things and what we do is we give

the enemy permission

and then we start providing provision

look what the word provision

means the providing or supplying of

something

this was the most dangerous part for me

because when i started making provision

that means i was catering to it

i’d not go to things i like to do to

make sure i made

time for pornography i would spend

money that i did not have to make sure

that my pornography my baby was provided

for

i would i would hide and buy extra apps

and do all kinds of stuff

to make sure that the images that i gave

permission

had enough time excuse me i was devoted

to pornography

i took away my vote and i said whatever

you want me to do

i’ll do it for you i’ll chase girls i’ll

jump out

in outside of and inside of people’s

windows

i have given and made provo provision

for you look what romans 13 14 says but

clothe yourself with the lord jesus

christ the messiah

and make no provision

for the flesh

stop thinking the evil cravings in the

physical nature to gratify

its desires and its lust

and for over two decades i knew

nothing but making provision for it

i would know i had to get up in the

morning for school or i had a big

a big presentation or something it

didn’t matter there are many nights i

got no sleep

because the flesh is never satisfied

i’d find one thing and then it’d lead to

another and i would give myself time

limits no

only 30 minutes and then it would be

three hours later

and then i’d say well only two hours and

then it would be five hours later and it

was sucking life

and it was planting images and it was

giving me everything

that i didn’t want and robbing me

of the things that i did want so what

happens

what many of you are doing right now

it’s innocent because you’re walking

through a pre-vision

just an image just just oh excuse me

just an instagram post

oh because you know the instagrams can

be pornography for you too

the bible tells us if you look upon a

woman or a man lustfully you’ve already

committed adultery in your heart

as a man think is in his heart you don’t

got to touch her

to be trying to figure out and and you

don’t have to touch him

to be trying to figure out how it works

this works for men and women and what

you’re doing is getting pre-visions

and that pre-vision when you walk

through that door there are people you

need to unfollow today

there are people that you know every

third picture is something of their body

that turns you on

and gives you pre-visions of what you

want yeah i’m in your business right now

because you acting like i can’t handle

it i’m a grown person that’s still

broken from the inside your sin is

controlling your life

and perversion is turning you around and

you think you’re dealing with it right

now

but wait till it shows up in your kids

see because what you don’t know is that

my father tommy todd aka the captain man

of god

he had the same problem his his

prevision was different than mine he

tells me a story of him walking

in new york with a pocket full of

quarters as he was there with the

grambling state marching band

he was a drum major and they went down

this certain street

so he could get a pre-vision and he took

those quarters out of his pocket

it wasn’t laying down with prostitute

and what he would do is put a quarter in

and those previsions that he said he

and the old testament tells us that the

sins of the father

can pass down to the third and fourth

generation he didn’t stand up and change

it he tried to keep it away

he was still a good person and so he was

moving out of he didn’t talk about the

hurt it came from

and so unbeknownst to him

he had five sons all of them dealt with

pornography and two of them had babies

out of wedlock

the worst part about it is they don’t

just do it to themselves

they encourage others to do it

i have to expose this because

gateway

to perversion which is

the point what god says if you really

want it that bad

go ahead it’s like the prodigal son

inheritance now

and the dad’s trying to talk sentence to

but if you really want to go down this

road of perversion

here it is where does that end up the

prodigal son

eating slop with pigs

when he was born to be royalty

and i don’t know who you are but what’s

happening to many of us

is that when we go down this road of a

pre-vision

giving the enemy permission and then we

we start providing for it and we end up

at perversion it ends us eating in a

place that we never thought we would be

but i have good news for you through

jesus christ something else can happen

today i believe is going to be a turning

for so many people that what happens

when you get god into your life

and you get truth into your life we can

that’s what god wants to give you today

he’s called you to be

before you are formed in your mother’s

womb he is saying i need you to read

word because i have a vision of you and

this is the thing you got to understand

29 18 where there is no vision

what do people do they perish

or another translation says they cast

off restraint

they stop caring but blessed

is the one who heeds the wisdom of god’s

instructions

how does a young man or young woman like

me who was so steeped in perversion

that i would lie that i got into into

situations where i had car insurance

fraud on my record where i was doing all

these things do y’all know what that

came from that came from the seat of

pornography

that came from these pre-visions that

led me down the path of perversion

it’s one of those things that you ever

seen a highway where you get off on one

thing and somehow you end up way over

it’s because it’s not a straight line

anymore this thing takes you to all

kinds of places that you never thought

i’m thinking thoughts that i never would

think before that i used to judge other

people for thinking i was having those

thoughts

every day why because the prevision

takes me to perversion

but if i can get a new vision of who god

calls me to be you can see yourself pure

some of you ladies need to see yourself

not having sex with no other guy

until you’re married you need to see

yourself i’m too

valuable to be wasting my treasure on

pigs

why would i cast these pearls on these

pigs

some of you guys need to get a picture

and a vision of yourself saying yeah i

could go smash that

i could be with them but what i carry is

the seed of generations

i will not waste my seed i will not

waste my seed on something that is

pleasurable for me

and that does not do what god called it

to do which is produced

many of us are masturbating and wasting

our seed

literally that’s mike that’s too graphic

real it’s the truth and god’s saying

today i want to give you a new vision

and when i give you a new vision guess

when you when you start to see what god

truly i tell you whatever you bind on

will be bound in heaven and whatever you

loose on earth will be loosed in heaven

do you know you can give

permission to god

and then you get permission from god

to loosen buying things some of y’all

prayer life needs to get more ignorant

y’all too soft with y’all prayer i

remember when i was battling through

this

and i had already given the enemy

permission to show me whatever image and

do all this other stuff when i got

filled with the holy spirit i started

loosing and binding stuff i said in the

name of jesus

i command the images in my mind to bow

to the word of god in my life

i take every vain imagination captive

by the power of the holy spirit i am

attracted to that

but i will not give in to my desires

i am binding every lie of the enemy of

insecurity on the inside of me

that would make me feel that i need to

go to this instead of be rejected from

that

i’m telling you right now you have

permission to loose and bind things in

your life

that’s what god gives us

and if you give god the ability to give

you a prevision

and you give him permission

then god is so faithful he always gives

provision

man god started surrounding me with

books

and commentaries and videos and

community

of people that i was like okay uh

i’m struggling i know it doesn’t seem

like it

but um i’m dying on the inside

and i allowed god to give me a cocoon

of resources of people the best thing he

ever gave me was my wife

the greatest provision god ever gave me

was natalie todd

and i remember just two years ago me

walking through

a deliverance process and let me say

this if it took you 20 years to get into

it

you might have to walk out of it

i know everybody in church tries to make

it seem like and it is possible

god can take it away in an instant that

wasn’t my story

i walked into it and i had to walk out

of it

all the way into marriage and god

oh

god showed me something that happened to

me

a little neighborhood boy came over to

our house when i was young

and he started playing with my private

area

and i had pushed that thing so far out

of my memory

and my thoughts and my ideas that i

didn’t share with anybody

and a year ago maybe two leading the

church

doing great things for god i got to tell

the truth

the enemy tried to bring that thing back

up in me and

and cloud me with shame

i didn’t even do it i didn’t even ask

for it it happened to me

but that perversion

tried to still have a hold of me while i

was touching the whole world

but god made a provision i was at the

office

at 15 19 and i called natalie and i said

i got to tell you something

she said what come here come like just

come and i ran home in the middle of the

day

and god provided for me and i ran to her

in the bedroom

and i was on the floor that’s a grown

man

crying in her lap and i said baby

this happened to me when i was young

and at that moment god’s provision came

through

my wife she began to speak into me the

grace of god

she began to tell me how valuable i was

to him

she began to tell me that this was the

last day that this would ever

be able to have a hold on me because god

does not do work in the dark

he only does it in the light

and i can’t tell you what the prayer was

and i can’t tell you what happened i

know that day

when god sent provision through another

human being

to pray for me to be accountable with me

to be able to stand with you to now

understand my struggle more

then god took me from a place of

perversion

and he brought another door somebody say

another door

see when you allow god to do it there’s

another door somebody say another door

see when you allow god to give you a

vision of who he wants you to be in your

life you don’t watch the images

you don’t stay at the pornography you

don’t go there you begin to move

into the the permission for god you can

do whatever you want to do in my life

if you want me to be a pastor if you

want me to lead these young people

if you want me to stay here if you want

me to go there you have permission to do

whatever you want to do

and god you’re a great provider i was

young but now i’m old and i’ve never

seen the righteous forsaken

if you want deliverance god said i’ll

provide for you

and when you walk through this door the

door of perversion is no longer an

option

god turns the door of perversion into

the door of promise

somebody needs to shout with me right

now that god

is exposing the lies and today is gonna

be the day

that some of you for the first time in

your life say i’m done with perversion

i’m knocking down the door of my promise

somebody just got a shot of praise right

somebody’s promise it’s being unlocked

freedom is coming to you right now

i confess this over my life all the time

that i don’t just want the desire god i

don’t have the people have tried to stop

pornography with willpower that ain’t

gonna work

you need the power of the holy spirit

and today some of you need to surrender

your sexuality completely and fully to

god

you can’t do this without the holy

spirit

so practically pastor mike what do i do

the first thing i had to do was confess

i want you to write it down confess you

need to tell somebody

and i know this one this one hurts

because you feel like this may damage

some relationships or

this may be the end of your marriage or

this may be the thing

that that takes you out this is what i’m

asking everybody the grace that you need

right now i need you to extend to others

wives let me talk to you for a second

this is going to be the first time that

some of your husbands tell you the truth

i feel this so strongly in my spirit

that remember god can only do work in

the truth and they’ve been scared

because they actually do love you

and if they told you they know it would

hurt you and break your heart and it

will

but i’m asking you to lovingly

restore them with grace

be what they need now and then y’all can

heal together

but there’s some men listening to this

today’s the day

you get to come out you get to tell the

truth

you get to live in real freedom and yes

there’s going to be consequences

but do you know what happens when the

enemy loses his

power over your life

you experience freedom for the i have

been

free from pornography for over five

years

and when i tell you now remember i’ve

been married for 10.

so it followed me into my marriage it

was on and off trying to figure out how

to stop and not

but now i brought my wife into the fight

with me we got code words now

girl i’m thirsty and she said i’m a

because the enemy wants you to be

divided

he wants to he wants to divide and

conquer but god wants you to be unified

because only in unity there’s a

commanded blessing this is where we pull

the cover off

in the church today and we say we’re

going to tell the truth

even if the truth hurts you need to

confess let me say it like this

you have to confess to god and repent to

him

for forgiveness so some of you

at the end of this service is going to

tell god god i’m sorry

i’m sorry i’m repenting i’m turning from

this and god

is faithful to forgive you but he

doesn’t stop there most of us want to

just stop at

confessing to god but he says clearly in

his word

in james that you have to confess one to

another you have to confess to people

for healing so you confess to god for

forgiveness but you have to confess to

another person

for healing and that’s what i’ve done

with my wife and

i’ve done with my pastors and i’ve done

with my mentors and i’ve done i confess

this is my struggle this is what i dealt

with

this is what and i can’t tell you what

happens but god by his grace you just

feel this burden lift

it’s like something comes up off of you

because no longer you’re holding

something that you were never meant to

hold

and this is going to be the practical

step that some of you make thousand

might give me another practical step

okay i got you right now you need

accountability

you cannot do this alone you need

community

you need correction and watch this c

christians need counseling

you can have faith and still have

undealt with trauma

you need somebody to help you unpack

that thing

somebody needed to help me unpack the

perversion

that happened to me when i was young you

need somebody to help

unpack the way you felt in your family

or never feeling significant

or being too sexualized or whatever it

happened you need somebody to help you

unpack that

so you can really live in freedom and

then you need community around you

i was able to tell my friends my closest

friends

four months ago what a few months ago

what happened to me as a young child and

they got around me

even when i heard that that they heard

it i was embarrassed and i was

i was ashamed and they said hey listen

this is what happened to me

and this is how we’re praying for you

and this is how we’re standing with you

that community and that counseling and

even correction might turn that off

give me the passwords to that if you

anywhere close to me you know the

passwords to my phone to my email like i

got to be around people i trust because

everybody know my passwords why because

i lived in secret too long

that i have to go to the opposite end of

the spectrum i don’t have

no no reflecting glass where nobody next

to me can’t see my phone

i leave everything open because i will

not be pulled back into bondage

i will stay free

you can get you can get things with

covenant

eyes and you can get things uh read

books every man’s battle and all that

but you need to come back to the dig on

transform it’s available to you

accountability and this is one thing

fast

now i know this is not a sexy term in

church but the bible tells us in mark 29

mark 9 29 that some things only change

by prayer and fasting and i can tell you

that when you stop the cravings for

food and lustful things it does

something in your spiritual life

it you push away something but it’s

teaching you the same stamina

to be able to say no to the enemy and

while i’m saying

no to this i’m pressing into this why

it’s not just a diet

i’m saying no to things my flesh wants

to say yes to the thing that gods want

and some of you this is a season where

you’re going to have to fast fast all tv

fast all social media fast sugar fast

sweets

when i oh i’m telling you how bad do you

want to change

how bad do you want this to be stopped

in your bloodline or do you want it to

pass on to generation to generation

will history say that you were the one

that took a stand and became a man of

purity and value and a woman of virtue

and i’m going to tell you the last thing

that really helped me confession

accountability fasting

one i didn’t know was gonna help me but

it was generosity

when i decided to start tithing for real

something broke off of my life in the

area of perversion

because i used to put my treasure into

things that would

help provide for my perversion

i used to pay for websites i used to put

extra gas money in the car

to go to people’s houses and do

different things i was putting my

treasure the bible says in matthew 6

where your treasure is your heart will

be

also and when i made a decision to put

my treasure in the kingdom of god

it was like my heart was ripped from

perversion and it went

to the things of the kingdom and i don’t

know who this is for because you may

have tried everything but this is one

thing you didn’t try i’m telling you

freedom

came to me as i begin to do this

me and natalie made a decision we

whenever we get paid all of our increase

it doesn’t matter 10 at least is going

to god’s local house

and we begin to do that and i’m telling

you the level of freedom you know when

something was on you but you could still

feel it on you even when it’s all for

you

i’m telling you i didn’t even feel that

thing no more and some of you need to

walk down these steps

and let god take you and lead you into a

new level of living

i had to tell the truth today because

perversion and pornography will no

longer

be able to ravage the people of god any

not without you knowing not without you

stands

it doesn’t end up they’re clean does it

make me

clean my filth makes them filthy

and then jesus comes and he saw that

everybody he loved would be

steeped in sin and god in him made a

plan

to say you’re going to have to go down

because nobody on that earth knows how

to be pure anymore

and i need you to take all of the

punishment and the pain that they should

experience for their sin

because the wages of sin leads to

death but he says i don’t want to give

them that penalty so i need you to take

it and all they have to do

is receive what you did for them and

then i’ll allow them to pour

everything that they did that sin into

you

and when it comes into you i take

what the world said was supposed to take

you out

and i turn it white as snow and i feel

prophetically that this is what god is

doing

as you surrender to him

but god i’m still filthy

he says surrender would you please

submerge your life the lies the

perversion the pornography

the jacked up the molestation would you

please submerge it in me

and if you would put it in me i’ll

overflow you

i’ll allow that thing to wash you i feel

the presence of god right here

that everything that abuse everything

that the lives of the world did

everything that the enemy tried to

create in you i’ll make you white as

snow

i’ll take it off and i’ll make it into

something clean

point but i feel

deliverance in this house right now if

i love you i’m praying for you

don’t be quick to invite things in this

week allow god to speak to you some of

y’all are going to go on a fast

not a church mandated fast nobody else

is fasting god told you

shut it down and i’m telling you right

now

you need to share this with everybody

let me let me help you

this is not a sexy message this is a

saving message

like this message will transform send it

to a few people

private text message put it on your

social media

let the holy spirit do the work but he

needs a vessel to do it through

it doesn’t matter if they reject it at

least they had the option

we are the ministers here we’re the

ambassadors of the good news of jesus

christ

i’m so grateful to lead this church and

thank y’all for allowing me to lead in

transparency and

honesty and truth because i believe

that’s the only way people get set free

father i thank you for transformation

church i thank you father god that you

have made this people

a people that will turn the world upside

down

i declare and i believe that the freedom

they’re experiencing today will not be a

short-lived

momentary freedom but i declare and i

believe

that chains are falling off forever

and that you’re not just gonna allow

them to be set free but they’re going to

be healed

healers freed people who free other

people

and i declare that an army is rising up

and father god we will praise you we

will spend time with you

and we will be devoted to you because we

will see the promise of god

in our lives in jesus name we agree

somebody shot at me amen hey listen me

and pastor natalie love you

we’ll see you when we’re off of

sabbatical and we’ll see you here on

wednesday night for the dig

and we will see you for prayer tomorrow

night at six

and we will see you at everything else

we got going on

i love you go and live a transformed

life
