one of the things that i love about that

is the part in the lyrics where it says
i give you everything
a lot of times we forget because we’re
so busy asking god for things
that we have something to give god to
our heart our mind
our being our dreams our
goals and visions are all gifts to god
it’s our way of saying god listen this
is my plan for my life but at the end of
the day i only want what you have for me
and so i surrender it all
i surrender the way that i think my life
should look i surrender the way that i
think my career should go
i surrender it all at your feet and in
exchange
god says now this is someone i can be in
partnership with
this is someone who i can do big things
with because they don’t mind laying
themselves down for my own purposes
and i need a reminder because we give
everything in one season right
and then we god gives us more and
blesses us with more
possibilities and opportunities and then
we have to remind ourselves again
that i still need to turn everything
over to god when is the last time
you took inventory of your life and you
said you know what god
i give it all to you if you’re not
getting the glory out of it i don’t want
it if you’re not getting any shine out
of it i don’t want it because i don’t
want my name to be made great
at the extent of losing the presence
that has led me to this very moment i’m
in
there’s always been something so special
about activate i believe that whether
it’s me or our incredible team of
leadership
who is speaking on activate that there
is quite literally something activated
within you
and so i want to give you a moment to
consider what is it in my life that
needs to be activated
is it my hope is it my faith i want you
to bring
all of yourself into this moment maybe
there’s something within you that you
don’t even know whether or not it needs
to be activated but you’ve come into a
god i give you everything moment
i don’t know what needs to be activated
maybe i think i’m doing just fine
but if you know without a shadow of a
doubt my faith needs to be activated
on a whole nother level that my goals
and my dreams need to be activated my
passion and my purpose
i want you to take a minute and write in
the chat what is god going to activate
in you tonight i want you to dare to
prophesy over your own life
to prophesy over your own dream your own
heart your own passion and to say
this is what’s going to be activated
because i believe that god
meets us at the level of our expectation
now of course i’ve been praying i’ve
been studying
i believe that there’s a word here
that’s going to help you
but sometimes the word needs us to come
into alignment with what the word wants
to do in our lives
that means there has to be something in
us that says god clear the way i’m ready
god clear my ears i’m ready to hear god
clear my mind i’m ready to listen
and i believe that that’s exactly what’s
going to take place in this moment
you know i would not be me if i did not
tell you it is not too late to invite
someone to activate
whether you are watching in south africa
or you are watching in london or you are
in new york or right down the street
from us in los angeles now is an
incredible time for you to just say you
know what
i don’t even know why i’m sending you
this and it may not even be for you but
i feel like there could be something in
it for you send someone this
link let them be a part of this moment
don’t be greedy
if god is pouring out the word and
pouring out worship make sure that
everyone’s a part of it

my subject is adapted for purpose
adapted for purpose and i’m going to be
in genesis 39
i’m going to start in verse 20.
now that you’ve gotten your text message
off you’ve shared it on your facebook
profile your twitter profile you’ve
invited everyone to church
now i want to invite you into this
moment
genesis 39 verse 20 and it begins
then joseph’s master took him and put
him
into the prison perhaps i should give
you a little bit of background about
what’s happening in this moment
joseph is the son of jacob and he is one
of the hated the most hated brother he’s
got
a group of brothers and he is the most
hated he is the one that no one fully
understands he’s the youngest
the bible said he was fine child and
then find
siblings that are the most hated you
already know sometimes that it can be a
struggle
you know as a favorite sibling of my
parents i fully understand what joseph
went through in this moment
i’m just kidding i’m not about the
favorite part because i really do
believe in my heart that i am my parents
favorite even if they don’t confirm or
deny it but joseph is going through it
his siblings do not like him they have
thrown him into a pit
he goes from being thrown into a pit to
being captured into slavery
and when he is in slavery he is then
elevated and promoted
what the enemy meant for evil god has
used it for good
and he is running the house of the king
of pharaoh at that time he’s running the
house of pharaoh and people are
subjected to him and pharaoh trusts him
so much that all pharaoh worries about
is what’s on his plate because he knows
joseph has control of
everything else but pharaoh’s wife gets
a little tricky
and says that joseph came for us she was
lying but that ain’t that ain’t what we
talking about today
okay so she’s lied pharaoh’s upset
now joseph is being placed in prison
verse 20 begins then joseph’s master
took him
and put him into the prison a place
where the king’s
prisoners were confined and he was there
in the prison but the lord was with
joseph
and showed him mercy and he gave him
favor
in the sight of the keeper of the prison
and the keeper of the prison committed
to joseph’s hand
all the prisoners who were in the prison
whatever they did there it was his doing
the keeper of the prison did not look
into anything that was under joseph’s
authority because the lord
was with him and whatever he did
the lord made it prosper god i thank you
for every person connected to this
moment
and this message i do not believe that
they are watching by coincidence
i don’t believe that you had so much war
over this
war over this word unless it was because
of who’s listening
and so father i pray that there would be
no nerves no fear no anxiety within me
that this would be an opportunity for
you to flow holy ghost flow is only you
can do
and as the holy spirit begins to flow i
pray that it would reach across the
world that it would reach across
the room that it would reach across
technology and meet each and every
person right where they need it the most
spirit flow release your glory
in jesus name amen
there have been some moments as of late
in which my 11 year old who is moving
into the seventh grade has asked me
questions about school
and in the process of her asking me
questions about school
i find myself saying to myself over and
over again i wish i would have paid
attention in school i wish i would have
paid more attention
to these things that she’s now asking me
questions about because i
quite literally have no idea how to help
her
and some of the things she’s saying
actually sound very interesting
and i know that these are things that
were covered at some point throughout my
time in school
and yet i don’t remember them one of
those things that she was talking about
lately and i had to go and do my own
studying just to
understand it fully was adaptation in
science
she was speaking about how animals adapt
based on their
environment they adapt for instance when
birds
migrate to the warmth for winter it is
because they don’t want to be in a cold
space so they adapt in order to be in a
warm area
i also read when studying that the thick
fur
on a polar bear is made even thicker in
colder months to keep them
warm there’s this whole list of things
that demonstrate how
animals and plants adapt based on their
environment part of the reason why i
wish that i would have
paid more intention in school when she
brought this up
is because i realize now as an adult how
necessary adaptability
is you see for the most part what we
call
adaptability is actually conformity
we say things like i can go in any room
and
in that room i can fit in but we’re not
fitting in because we adapted ourselves
to that environment
we’re fitting in because we conform to
what that environment
expected from the people connected to it
if you read anything about leadership
and business they tell you all the time
about how the culture of an organization
cannot be built on conformity
that it is one of the things that
threatens creativity and innovation when
everyone has to think the same way and
act the same way
and yet you do have to bring a certain
level of adaptability into culture
because it says that this is the
environment for sure
but i don’t want you to conform i just
want you to learn how to do you
in this environment i got some bad news
for social media
the bad news is that you don’t get to
just do you
in any environment and circumstance that
means that if you just
tell it how it is at home that doesn’t
mean you get to just tell it how it is
at work
nor does it mean that you conform and
become silent
it means that you have to find a way to
channel what it is into how someone can
receive it
that is adaptability not conformity and
sometimes we get them confused because
we are so committed to maintaining
our authenticity that we miss out on the
opportunity to
adapt when we miss out on that
opportunity to adapt
we don’t just lose opportunities
we end up losing ourselves in the
process
as i was studying for this message i was
thinking about
why it is so easy for us to conform
literally in scripture and we talked
about this last week in romans 12
when i talked about let us not be
conformed to this world
conforming is something that is very
easy to do
we would all like to say that we don’t
conform but the truth is conforming is
actually quite easy
when you’re around a certain group of
people and you’ve changed your morals or
you’ve changed your emphasis
and ethics it’s difficult to bring those
new changes into that old environment so
instead we conform
it takes a lot of work to say i’m not
going to conform it takes a lot of
courage and a lot of vulnerability to
say i’m not going to conform
no wonder in romans they make it so
clear that the world is out for
us to conform the world is out for
conformity
the world says that you need to do it
this way and so we try to conform even
at the expense of us
abandoning ourselves i cannot tell you
how many people betrayed their truth for
the sake of conformity because they did
not want to experience rejection
and yet the truth is that until we are
willing to reject
conformity then we will always live
restless within our soul because when we
conform i am not quite what i have
conformed to
and i am no longer who i am either and
so i straddle the fence of my identity
and i war with god
asking god to bless my conformity and
god says what i really want is your
authenticity
because if i can get your authenticity i
can show you how to go into any room
i’ve placed you in
without losing you in the process but
also
not without losing the room i’ll help
you to keep the room i wish i could say
that the way i feel it
but our fear is that if we don’t conform
then we’ll lose the opportunity
but when we partner with god and god
brings us into rooms the worst thing we
can do is conform when we get into the
room
when god brings you into the room you
cannot conform to the room that god has
brought you in
and you have to trust that god is going
to teach you how to adapt into that room
i’m going to show you how to do you in
this room i’m going to show you how to
deliver the way that you deliver in this
room you don’t have to conform and do it
the way everyone else has done it you
don’t have to conform and do it the way
the culture has done it
you don’t have to conform and do it the
way that you’ve seen everyone else in
church do it
i’m going to show you how to adapt for
the time in the season that i’ve had you
in
you will not lose the room you will not
lose the room i don’t know who
that is for and i don’t know who you are
but i feel like you’re thinking to
yourself the only way i can stay in this
room is if i conform to this room and i
hear god saying that i am not after your
conformity you got to trust me in this
season because i’m going to show you how
to adapt
i hear god saying i’ll never leave you
nor forsake you i’ll show you how to
adapt
i’m going to give you the right words
when you need them i’m going to give you
the right passion when you need them you
don’t have them right now because you
don’t need them but i’m going to give
them to you in the right moment because
i did not bring you here for you to be
changed by
here you’re on assignment
this is bigger than you when god brought
you into the room it wasn’t just you
it was everything that god has connected
to you and god needs you to learn how to
bring all of yourself into the room and
not to shrink i don’t know who this is
for this isn’t even a part of my notes
but i feel like god is calling some
people into new rooms
as the world oh god i feel this as the
world is opening up
you’re going to be opening up and as you
begin to open up you’re going to be
revealing new layers of yourself
and you’re going to be uncomfortable
with those layers and you’re going to be
unsure
of those layers but i hear guys saying
the worst thing you can do is conform to
what you’ve known
or conform to what you’ve seen you’re
going to have to stand flat-footed and
say i cannot conform
but i also need god to show me how do i
walk into the room and not lose myself
or lose the room in the same process
it’s a lot more difficult to conform
than we think
that’s why i love this text about joseph
because this text shows us how god
continues to navigate life with
us do you know that you serve a god that
doesn’t just sit high and look low
but he also shows you how to navigate
the situation in the season you’re in
oh god i don’t know who you are but
you’ve been without wisdom
you’ve been without strategy you’ve been
without creativity
and you’ve got this religious
relationship with god where you honor
god but you don’t invite god into your
process
and i hear god saying if you would
invite me into your process you’ll see
that i can show you how to maneuver how
to function no matter where you are
so joseph joseph is going to be our
example
of being adapted for purpose and this is
so
important for us to understand because
we’re about to have so many
opportunities family
as the world is opening up there’s so
many different circles we can go to we
it was easy to not conform during the
pandemic because it wasn’t anything to
conform to
but now we’re about to have so many
options and in the process of having all
of these options we’re going to have to
be intentional
not just about who we are but who we are
not
you’re going to have to be intentional
about your time you’re going to have to
be intentional about your thoughts
intentional about how you show up in the
spaces and places you’ve been called to
go
because you were not called to conform
you were called to adapt
you are not called to conform you are
called to adapt to the circumstance that
you have been placed in
joseph is going to show us how to adapt
the reason why i wanted to give you the
timeline of joseph’s life
is because i wanted you to understand
exactly how pivotal this moment
is in his life if you’re taking notes
there are three moments
that i want you to write down these
three moments
are going to reveal to you how he became
someone who learned how to
adapt with god because i believe that
that’s going to be your testimony
that you’re going to learn how to adapt
with god not adapt with man not conform
to man’s opinions not conform
to man’s expectations i’m going to teach
you how to adapt
i’m going to teach you how to adapt into
that family i’m going to teach you how
to adapt into that marriage you’re still
going to be you
you’re still going to have your identity
you’re still going to have your
creativity you’re still going to have
your innovation
but i’m going to show you how to adapt
because you cannot hang on to the way
that you’ve done you
and be in this moment at the same time
i’m going to teach you how to adapt says
god i’m going to teach you how to show
up and never miss says god and joseph is
in a moment where he’s constantly
shifting
changing and transforming but he doesn’t
have to do it with god
and somebody needs to understand that
this next dimension is not the dimension
in which
in which you lose yourself this next
dimension is not the dimension in which
you end up letting it all go
this is just the addition of your life
in which you begin to expand
and adapt into more of who god has
called you to be joseph
the timeline of his life
the first thing i want you to understand
about how to become someone who
adapts with god is that you have to
resist
the urge to conform
to rejection resist the urge
to conform to rejection
that sounds so good and so easy
but the truth is that rejection
automatically
demands conformity from us oh god i feel
this
that when we’ve been rejected some of us
change the way we show up in the world
immediately i conform to what rejection
says i am i conform to what that
heartbreak says that i am when joseph is
thrown into the pit he could have said
you know what before that moment he
had two dreams he had two dreams you got
to read this in genesis 37 you got to
read the whole story
he has one dream he tells his brothers
about the dreams and they say boy you
crazy angle never bow down to you
then he has a second dream instead of
keeping the dream to himself he
tells the dream to his family again and
that’s when they get upset
and yet he was rejected the first time
and still kept showing up as the person
who was rejected
you see when we experience rejection we
automatically think there is something
wrong with us and so we change who we
are so that we never have to experience
that rejection again
but in the training ground of purpose
and the training ground of when god is
really shaping you and molding you
he has to teach you not to conform to
rejection he has to teach you how to not
give up just because someone didn’t get
it
you have to god has to teach us how to
continue to be who we are
and every season regardless of who was
cheering us on or booing us in the crowd
because there’s something about me
staying in tune with who god has called
me to be
that i can’t allow conformity to come
into my life just because i’ve
experienced rejection
i want somebody watching to know that
it’s never too late to break the
covenant you’ve made with conformity
i want somebody to know who’s watching
right now it’s never too late to break
the covenant you’ve made with rejection
to break the covenant you’ve made with
shame
to break the covenant you’ve made with
your pride and your ego and lust
someone’s been conforming too long but i
want to prophesy
that even as you’re watching this
message that god is breaking that spirit
of conformity
that has allowed you to conform to a
lesser version of who you are
i hear god saying that i break it right
now in the name of jesus and that i
snatch you back
i hear god saying i’m snatching somebody
back in this message
i’m snatching somebody back to their
proper position you changed who you were
because of how you were rejected
you changed who you were because of the
shame you changed who you were because
you felt inadequate
and you keep shrinking and every time
you try to shrink god keeps pulling you
back
and i hear god saying because i’ll fight
on your behalf even when you cannot
fight for yourself
conforming to rejection is how we miss
purpose
i will not conform i will not conform
i’m going through a depression but i
will not conform
i’m going through a heartbreak but i
will not conform i will not change my
identity based on my circumstance joseph
says i’m still the one who has a dream
is that anybody’s testimony i’m still
the person who has the dream i don’t
have the funding
i don’t have the support but i will not
allow my circumstance to determine how i
conform to this idea
that i can still be who god has called
me to be
conforming conforming you have to
resist the urge to conform to
rejection god doesn’t allow
joseph’s spirit to conform to rejection
refusing to conform though may land you
in isolation
i got to tell you this because the
beauty of conformity is company
the beauty of conformity is that you’re
never by yourself because you’re just
like everyone else you are around
but when god gets ready to shift you
when god gets ready to change you
when god gets ready to transform you do
not be surprised if you have to do it in
isolation
no wonder joseph ends up in a pit i want
someone to know who’s in a pit right now
you refused to conform but you didn’t
realize you were going to be so lonely
you refused to conform but you didn’t
realize that that meant that you were
going to be in a dark space
and i hear god saying that this is the
price that you have to pay in order to
make it to the transformation
there is no transformation without a pit
and so yes you had to be isolated by
isolation doesn’t last forever
when you’re isolated there’s some things
that god gets to do with you that he
can’t do with you as long as you’re
trying to conform
and sometimes god removes you from the
circle so that you are never tempted to
conform to the circle
because god didn’t know how many more
rejections you could take
god didn’t know how many more
heartbreaks you could take before you
would give up all together
and so i pulled you out and yet you’re
by yourself but you’re not by yourself
and yes you’re alone but you’re not
alone because if you can see what god
saw
you would see that there were so many
pits around you but because you were in
your pitch you couldn’t see that there
was someone else in the pit
and i hear god saying when it’s time for
you to come up that you’re going to
realize that i was
raising up people who understand what
it’s like to have pitiful seasons
that god’s going to help us understand
what it’s like to have people who
rejected us and didn’t understand what
to do with our gifts and our talents but
we’re not raised up
that i’m going to raise you up as
someone who doesn’t even need them
anymore
oh god i don’t know who you are but i
want you to know that the isolation
doesn’t last forever
the pitiful season it doesn’t last
forever
and i’m praying that even as this word
is penetrating your heart and
penetrating your soul
that you recognize that the pit has a
job too
that the pit the darkness the isolation
is on assignment
the isolation is trying to see if you’ll
hold on to the dream even in the dark
the isolation is trying to show you that
the only one you can call on is really
god that’s the only one who can hear me
in this season and when you come out of
the pit
you’ll understand and recognize that my
relationship was
with god was strengthened not because
everyone got me
not because everyone understood not
because i thought the thing and the
thing became real
but because i learned how to trust god
in the pits
that first thing is resisting the urge
to conform
and like i said earlier it’s never too
late to break the covenant that you’ve
made with conforming
i reject it i reject it so that i can
move
so that i can be moved and positioned
properly
into a space of adaptability or i can be
who i am but with an extended expanded
identity
that allows me to work and walk in any
room without fear
i hear god saying that the core of who
you are
works anywhere that you place it
but the adaptability of bringing who you
are into that room takes walking with
god
so god helps joseph to resist the urge
to conform
and then he ends up in isolation
and then the second thing that i want
you to write down about adaptability and
how god partners with us in the ability
to adapt
is god helps joseph adapt to
manifestation
god helps joseph adapt to manifestation
this was so good to me because when we
see at the beginning of genesis 39
joseph is now standing in what looks
like
exactly what he dreamed
it stood out in my mind though that when
joseph was in the pit
something shifted and changed because
just moments before that it doesn’t talk
about god being with joseph
we know that god is always with us but
it doesn’t emphasize
that god is with joseph the only time
that we see emphasis
about god being with josephus joseph it
begins in verse 13 in chapter 39.
and in chapter 39 it is emphasized in a
moment of manifestation
and i wonder to myself what does this
mean about god’s character and our
ability to partner with god
and then i realized that manifestation
is not always the time for celebration
once again this is going to be counter
culture this isn’t going to be something
that is often talked about
but anyone who has ever had their dream
job come true
anyone who’s ever had their dream vision
of their life come true
you recognize that the manifestation is
actually a little bit more scary than
actually dreaming about it
because when you get in position what
you’re afraid of is i don’t want to mess
this up
when you get in position you realize
that i’m not as qualified as i thought
but here we see god saying i’m going to
help you to adapt in the time of
manifestation god helps joseph
to understand that even though i’ve
placed you in this position where your
dream has become a reality
i haven’t left you our role in our
relationship with god is not just about
those moments when our dream becomes a
reality god says
i’m going to be with you in the long
haul i’m not just here to help you get
to your destination i’m here until you
come back to me
and that means that every season in your
life you can still call on me
and when you are standing in the moment
of manifestation it’s going to be
scarier than the moment when you are
just dreaming about it
because when you’re just dreaming about
it you don’t have any idea of the
pressure connected to it but there is
pressure connected to manifestation
if that’s for you i want you to type it
in the comments that’s my word that’s my
word
but i got news for your pressure i got
news for that thing that’s been telling
you you’re going to lose
i’ve got news for that voice in your
head that’s telling you you’re never
going to make it you’re not creative
enough you’re not smart enough you’re
not strong enough you’re not wise enough
that you didn’t just step into
manifestation by yourself if you had to
do it on your own you would be afraid
but because you stepped in the
manifestation with god you don’t have to
worry about who you need to be in this
space because god’s teaching you and
tutoring you
it’s like having an earpiece device that
no one can see when god steps you into
manifestation he says i’m going to give
you the words
i’m going to give you the tools you’re
not in manifestation by yourself
you don’t have to be afraid to lose it
and i want to come against imposter
syndrome right now in the name of jesus
if god has called you into that space
you are not an impostor you are the only
person who could stand in that room
you are the only person who can stand in
that marriage you’re the only person who
could raise that family
you’re the only person who could build
that business there is no one else more
qualified than you to do what god has
called you to do
so all you got to do is step into it and
when you step into it don’t step into it
with false confidence
when you step into it don’t step into it
trying to drink the kool-aid of what
everyone else has done and don’t you
dare conform
you step into it and adapt in such a way
that says it was my prayer that got me
into this room
it was my anointing that got me into
this space it was my belief that i was
going to break a generational curse that
got me here
and now that i’m standing in the
generational breakthrough i won’t stop
now
i don’t know who you are but i hear god
saying it’s time for you to roll up your
sleeves and go even harder than you’ve
been going hard before
just because you’ve gotten to a space
where you’ve distanced yourself from the
generational curse
doesn’t mean that that’s the end god i
wish i could say that the way that i
feel it
but i feel like god is saying that just
because you broke the generational curse
doesn’t mean that there’s not still a
generational blessing for you to reach
to
you got to keep going you got to keep
flowing you got to keep growing you got
to keep moving because there’s more for
you to do

you’re in the manifestation but you’re
not by yourself
you’re in the manifestation but you
don’t have this
but you’re not in it by yourself
don’t plan a manifestation
that requires you to cut ties with god
when you get there
you need to have a manifestation that is
so big and so great
that even when it is realized that i’m
still going to need god in order to
maintain this thing
i’m still going to need god in order to
sustain this thing
and so many of us have these dreams
where we want to finally make it to a
place where we no longer need to pray
the way that we have been praying
and that’s exactly why god doesn’t meet
us at the level of our hunger
god says i wish you would have a dream
that would require you to stay in
relationship with me in order to
maintain it
i wish you had a dream that would
require for you to still get down on
your knees and pray
in the same way that you prayed to get
into the room until you have something
like that then this is just
transactional and i’m trying to be in
relationship but i want to talk to
somebody tonight who came to activate
because they want to activate a
god-sized vision for your life
you want to activate a god-sized dream
for your life
a god-size goal god i’m going to need
you to break this thing
god you got me into the room god you
help me to get funded
god you gave me the contract and now i
need you to help me actually deliver on
the thing i said i could do
god i said i could step into this
marriage god i said i could step into
this family i said i could step into
this business i said i could step into
this leadership
and now that i’ve stepped into it i need
you to help me to keep on stepping keep
on stepping keep on stepping
i’m trying to keep on stepping i’m
trying to not lose i’m trying to keep
moving
i’m trying to keep building i got to
keep on stepping everyone else can stay
stagnant but as long as there’s air in
my lungs i got to keep on moving
i gotta keep on pressing i’m trying to
blow the roof off this thing
i’m trying to change an industry i’m
trying to change a generation
i’m trying to change everything my
community has ever seen so i gotta keep
on pressing
and i can’t press without power and i
don’t have power without anointing
and so i need heaven’s resources
to back me up joseph has
heaven’s resources backing him up
and god says i’m going to put you in the
palace
i’m going to align you with pharaoh i’m
going to make your dream a reality
but you’re going to need me in order to
keep
it within reach
last and final thing i’m almost finished
the last thing that we see god helping
joseph with
as it relates to adapting for purpose
is god helps
joseph to adapt to prison
that’s the part that’s not sexy
everything else was real sexy yes teach
me how to adapt to my dreams coming true
teach me how to adapt to the moment in
which i’m standing in the manifestation
of everything that i ever thought could
happen in my life teach me how to do
that
but what do you do when you have a
prison season this is different
than the pit
because when joseph was in the pit there
was no expectation of him
when joseph was in the pit his dream was
just a dream it had not become reality
he had not tasted
that i could actually do this
and now he’s standing in a prison that
doesn’t look like
anything that he’s ever gone through
before
the lie the lie is that once your dream
and your vision is manifested
that you’ll never ever experience a dark
moment again
the lie is that once you step into
manifestation that that is the only
place you’ll ever land
but as you keep going as you keep
growing as you keep pressing what you
learn is there are some prisons
along the way how do i
go from being the person who was
in the palace to now
someone who feels like i’m in a prison
the marriage started off a palace
now it feels like a prison the job
started off
at palace it felt like the only place i
would ever want to be now it feels like
a prison how do i how do i reason how do
i come to a place of hope
and faith and optimism when what was
once the palace now becomes a prison
and it would have been one thing had i
never been exposed but i’ve been exposed
to who i can be in a better environment
i’ve been exposed to who i can be when
all of the cards align
but what do i do when the jobs aren’t
rolling in when the money isn’t coming
and i no longer feel like the person who
had the power
now i feel like a prisoner is there
anybody watching tonight
who once felt like you had power but now
you feel like a prisoner
i’m bound by shame i’m bound by regret
i’m bound by second guessing i went from
being so confident but now i
feel like i am a prisoner god teaches
joseph how to adapt
to prisons not to avoid it
but how to adapt not to run from it not
even how to escape because if we’re
honest that’s what we want
when we find ourselves in prison seasons
what we really want is for god to show
me how to escape this thing
god doesn’t teach them how to escape he
says i’m going to teach you how to adapt
i’m going to show you how to live on
this level i’m going to show you how to
continue to show up even though you feel
restricted
i’m going to show you how bound can’t
stop the anointing
i’m going to show you how restriction
doesn’t stop the growth
i’m going to show you how you can still
adapt even when you feel restricted i
don’t have
all of the tools i don’t have all of the
resources i feel restricted i feel like
i’m in a prison but you still have a
dream even in a prison
you still have a vision even in the
prison that’s why we see joseph doing
exactly what he did in the palace
when he is in the prison people are
still subject to his
command people are still saying exactly
what he tells them to do
people are still showing up and trusting
his authority because the prison doesn’t
stop the authority
the prison doesn’t stop the anointing
and i don’t know who i’m talking to but
your circumstance has changed but god
told me to tell you that the
circumstance doesn’t change the
anointing
that the circumstance doesn’t change the
gifting and the greatest gift you can
give god in this season is not
asking him to take you out of the
circumstance but show me how to adapt
even in this
environment god i never thought i’d have
to go through this with my children
that doesn’t mean that i’m going to give
up all together but i want you to show
me how to adapt in this environment
how do i adapt we’ve seen churches and
so many businesses
over the last year and a half adapting
to the environment do you know how much
strength it takes
to say i’m not going to shut the doors
i’m going to learn to grow and adapt
even in this circumstance and
environment what you’ve been seeing play
out in the streets
and play out in your community is now
about to play out in your spirit
because someone has been restricted and
imprisoned for too long
imprisoned by fear imprisoned by failure
imprisoned by second guessing
imprisoned by lust in prison by pride
and i hear god saying that i’m about to
show you how to allow the divine version
of you to adapt
even though you aren’t free the way that
you want to be free yet i wish that i
could say it the way that i hear it
but just because you’re bound
just because you’re working through
something
just because you’re growing through
something
it doesn’t mean that god can’t still use
you
what we have to be willing to say and do
is god how can you use me with this
restriction
god is not looking for those people who
have it all together and are not
in difficult circumstances
god is looking for those who are willing
to allow his grace his glory his mercy
to show up regardless of the
circumstance
my favorite part of this scripture when
we started in verse 20
is actually verse 21
it says but the lord was with joseph
and showed him mercy and he gave him
favor in the sight of the keeper of the
prison
the lord was with joseph and showed him
mercy
i’m still with you and i’ve still got
something for you to see
even in prison i still want you to see
my mercy
even when you’re restricted i want you
to see my mercy
do you know that sometimes we can get so
upset that we have found ourselves in a
dark place
all over again that we miss the
opportunities where mercy is still
showing up what is mercy it is the
loving kindness of god
that god you’re still being kind towards
me yes i lost the job but somehow i
still have a roof of my head that is the
mercy of god
that i wasn’t really qualified but still
somehow you keep putting me in position
it is the mercy of god that you continue
to allow me
access don’t miss his mercy
can you still see it can you still see
it
if you can still see it i want you to
write in the comments i can still see it
i can still see it i can still see your
mercy i can still see your mercy i’m
still alive
i’ve still got air in my lungs i can
still see your mercy i still know where
the kids are
i can still see your mercy see if
something happens when you let hell know
that i can still see god’s mercy
is the sign to hell that i’m still in
relationship with god
and i can still see how god is moving in
my life i can still see your glory in my
life
i can still see your kindness showing up
in my life god i thank you for saving my
mother
god i thank you for helping my father
god i thank you for helping us to get
through this disease god i
thank you for allowing the business to
survive over this pandemic
it’s not where i want it to be yet i’m
not in the black yet i haven’t signed a
big deal yet
but i haven’t gone under either and i’ve
seen so many other people who went under
so god i can only attribute it to your
kindness
being with me running after me chasing
after me
everywhere i go i see the goodness of
god all over me
even in the prison i see your goodness
even evicted i see your goodness see
that’s the kind of thing that hell
doesn’t want you to say
because hell wants you to get so upset
that you found yourself in a prison
that you don’t still see god’s goodness
but all i need to know is not that my
circumstance is okay
but that i still have access to god
because if i still have access to god i
believe that this momentary affliction
is just temporary that there is a glory
that is connected to this moment
so i gotta hang on to god so i can see
the glory i’m going through the chemo
but i’m hanging on to god
i’m going through the process but i’m
hanging on to god i’m going through the
divorce but i’m hanging on to god why am
i hanging on to god
when everyone else would have let him go
why am i hanging on to god when everyone
else said that i should just quit
i’m hanging onto god because i recognize
that that is the only way i’ll ever see
glory again
i’m hanging on to god i’m not healed yet
but i’m hanging on to god
i’m not where i need to be yet but i’m
hanging on to god because this prison
can’t have the best of me
i don’t know who you are but i feel like
fighting on your behalf i feel like
going to war i feel like becoming the
demon bully
i wish i had about two or three people
with me because if i had about two or
three people with me
i believe that we could chase a few
demons up off of our brothers and
sisters
because i feel like set letting somebody
know that the prison can’t have your
mind
the prison can’t have your hope the
prison can’t have your faith
the prison can’t have your joy the
prison can’t have you the prison can’t
have you blood washed marked by the
grace of god the prison can’t have you
i come against depression right now in
the name of jesus the prison can’t have
you
i come again against despair right now
in the name of jesus the prison cannot
have you
i come up against anxiety right now in
the name of jesus the prison cannot have
you
the prison cannot have you god gave me a
word because the prisons got to let you
go
god gave me a word because god needed
someone to know that the prison cannot
have the final say
that god’s glory can still reach into
the prison if this is your word i want
you to type that’s my word that’s my
word that’s my word
because you’ve been living in a prison
for so long you thought the prison is
all that there would ever be but i hear
god saying
not my child not on my watch not if i
got a word that can still reach their
spirit the prison can’t have you
a prison can’t have you
god doesn’t let the prison have
joseph god is still with him
god is still showing him mercy
god is still showing him favor
broken-hearted but still favored
confused but still favored
overcoming doubt but i’m still favored
because where you are is never an
indication of where you land
where you are right now
feeling stuck feeling lost
feeling like i’ll always be restricted
with a big dream
where you are is not an indication of
where you’ll land
but where you are is all that you have
in reach
and so you have to be willing to ask
yourself
if i can’t get to what i see
what can i do with what’s in reach
oh god what can i do with what’s and
reach these are the resources i have
this is the money that i have these are
the friends that i have this is the
relationship that i have
i don’t want to sit up here lamenting
what i don’t have i want to know what i
can do with what’s
within reach and what joseph does
with what’s in reach is just brings that
same
anointing that same adaptability that
had him in the palace
into the prison it says
and the keeper of the prison committed
to joseph’s hands
all the prisoners who were in the prison
whatever they did there it was his doing
the keeper of the prison
did not look into anything that was
under joseph’s authority
which was so interesting because in
genesis 39 and 4 it says this was before
he was in the prison
it says so joseph found favor in his
sight that’s
pharaoh’s sight and served him then he
made him overseer of his house
and all that he had he put under his
authority
the same grace in the palace
the same grace in the prison
because joseph
learned to adapt to the anointing
for wherever he was
all i wanted you to know is that when it
comes to purpose
when it comes to stepping into who god
has called you to be stepping into
your identity your divine identity
identity
stepping into that role stepping into
that position that you know god has
breathed on
that conformity is not the answer
don’t become everything you’ve ever seen
ask god how do i bring me
into this circumstance
in a way that adapts what i carry for
what the environment needs
how do i adapt the essence of who i
am for what this environment needs
wherever you are you are needed there
you are not just there riding off of
someone else’s favor
someone else’s favor may have gotten you
into the room but that was really god’s
favor
flowing through them wherever you are
that is where you are supposed to be
but don’t allow yourself to now take it
into your own hands in your own control
instead ask
god how do i
adapt who i am in you
for the room and the season
and circumstance i’m in
i want to pray with you
i want to pray that god would break
covenant
with where you have conformed
and that he would give you courage to
step
boldly into your god-given identity
and from that place that god would teach
you
to trust him no matter where you are
to trust god in every room and every
season we hear paul say
in the new testament to the jew i became
as a jew to the greek i became as a
greek
it doesn’t mean that he changed who he
was it meant that he found a way to
adapt who he was so that he could reach
who he was called to you are called
to people who will require you to adapt
not be inauthentic but to adapt
this world needs what you carry
and yet you’re so busy conforming to
what you’ve seen that no one is feeling
the space that you’re supposed to feel
we rebuke that spirit of the living god
this word has confronted
so many people who have been too afraid
to admit that they are flirting with
conformity
it has confronted so many people who
have
decided to conform to rejection and
conform to their shame and conform to
their regret
and yet father you will say in your word
do not be conformed to this world
father we ask for forgiveness because we
have been conforming for love conforming
for validation conforming to feel proud
of ourselves conforming so that we can
feel confident
and father we ask for forgiveness
because we recognize that even as we
conformed we were still
empty even as we conformed we were still
unfulfilled father i pray a special
blessing over every person watching who
has decided to break covenant with where
they have conformed
father i pray that you would not just
close the door to conformity but
that you would seal it allowing them to
not ever go back to conforming again
and as you seal that word seal that door
father
i pray that you would then bring them
into this strength and courage that
adaptability requires
father that you would make us sensitive
enough to not just step into something
and take it on in our own strength
but that we would recognize that it is
not by might nor is it by power but only
by your
spirit that we will stay in the rooms
where you send us
and so father i pray for as a fresh
outpouring of your spirit
a fresh outpouring of your anointing
your fresh outpouring of your vision
and that as your spirit pours god
that you would give us wisdom on how to
convert our essence for the rooms and
the roles and the communities
and paradigms that you’ve placed us in
god i thank you that this is a word from
heaven and that it is reaching the
hearts of those who need it the most
i pray that they would listen to it over
and over and over again
until they dare to be bold enough to be
authentic
and dare to be bold enough to adapt
only for purpose in jesus name i pray
amen family you know
i love you so much and it’s always such
a joy when we get to activate together i
don’t know about you but i’m praying
that god would continue to
activate my adaptability because i got
things
to do you feel me can’t wait to see you
