I’m so excited about this word I’ve been
praying on it I don’t know if you all
know this or not but I got ordained cuz
I’m like

there was something about this community
that really convinced me that even
though I didn’t fit like this idea of
ministry that there was a place for my
voice I love you guys thank you for
accepting me as I am crazy bootleg
preaching and all into our incredible
pastor Pastor Turing thank you for
seeing things in me that I didn’t even
see in myself I love you thank you the
title of my message is full throttle
full throttle and I was preparing for
this message in them of course I have a
text but you know I always have an
analogy so here it goes there are two
types of drivers there are drivers who
are safe they’re law-abiding they don’t
live in Los Angeles because you got to
do what you got to do right here the
first time okay real quick and then I’m
gonna get on subject first time I was
driving in Los Angeles I’m from Texas
for those of you who don’t know and I
was oh okay and so I was going to make a
left turn on Ventura and you know the
light turn yellow and then it turned
random turn green cars kept coming it
wasn’t like an arrow and so I was
waiting to be able to go and your pastor
told me that you make left turns when
the light turns red which I went to
driver’s education and rent
does not mean make your left turn I’m a
law-abiding driver okay I Drive the
speed limit we get to where we’re going
on time everyone’s safe you can have a
pleasant conversation you can enjoy
music it’s like two types of driver the
second type is pastor Trey so I don’t
know if he’s made a pact with like
heaven because he’s been in ministry for
so long where like police don’t see him
because like he switches it’s like the
fast and furious like he judged drives
so quickly and so when he drives my car
he like he floors it sometimes like just
for no reason like making love turning
wrong and I’m like why why you know and
he goes why god I like cleaning the
pipes out because when you don’t drive
it it doesn’t live to its potential and
I’m all about things living to its
potential
so he’s flooring it in my car and then
when I’m driving my car for no reason at
all it did picks up than like me and the
baby have to be all strapped in in the
car seat because he’s been driving my
car at full throttle for no reason and
as I was preparing for this message
I just felt prophetically I just felt
like there was a word from the Lord that
some of us had been on cruise control
but that God was about to do something
in our life that was going to put us
into full throttle that the waiting game
is over that you’ve paid your dues that
you’ve learned your lessons and now I’m
about to unleash you into your destiny
like never before that I know you’ve
been watching other people win and other
people succeed but that was just
training ground because what I’m about
to do in your life I’ve haven’t seen
ears haven’t heard I’m about to invest
power down on the inside of you enough
power to shake up industries and those
powers that make people put some respect
to in your name I’m going to give you
the kind of power that makes people
start asking you how did you do what you
do and you’ll say it wasn’t me it was
the power working down on the inside of
me I couldn’t have done it on my own but
there was something about an encounter I
had with his power
come on Holy Spirit you are welcomed
here
do you know what you’re asking for when
you start saying you’re welcomed here
you’re asking for supernatural power
you’re not just asking for a sweet
little worship moment that we have one
Sundays and Wednesdays we’re asking for
the kind of power that gives us
confidence to write that book to write
that screenplay to break things off with
our families to heal our broken hearts
to come up with a plan to get homeless
off of the street he’s given us power in
a vision and wisdom so I’m not just
saying Holy Spirit you are welcomed here
so that I can go back and say man we
sure had Church I need that power I need
that Holy Spirit I need them to show me
when to speak and when to listen I
needed I needed I needed and I want to
talk about us heading in the
full-throttle and in order to set up the
text I have to give you a bit of
background so Jesus at this point in the
text has died resurrected and he’s
sitting amongst the disciples did you
know that seven of the disciples were
fishermen Jesus ministry was three years
long but at the very beginning of his
ministry he went around and he would see
fishermen and he said come follow me and
that will make you fishers of men
now they followed him and what they saw
was really men being drawn to him
not necessarily them becoming fishers of
men the interesting thing is that when
they were just fishing they never really
were interested in becoming fishers of
men but for some reason they received a
word that changed their capacity like
for some reason they thought that they
were just content fishing and then all
of a sudden they were exposed to an idea
or a thought that changed what they
thought was possible for themselves
isn’t that why so many of us are even in
this room is that we received a word
that changed our capacity
everyone else in the neighborhood was
fine just doing what everyone else did
and getting married and then living
happily ever after or going to school
and working at the plant but for some
reason there was this crazy idea in our
mind that we were born to stand out not
to sit in that we were born to change
the world that that we didn’t just have
to accept it because it was the way
everything was we received an idea that
changed our capacity I don’t have to do
it the way my mother did it or my father
did it I have this idea that changed my
capacity that’s why you have to pray
that God would bring people into your
life who have the same capacity that you
do because just like an idea can expand
your capacity it can also shrink it you
start telling people what you think is
possible for yourself and they tell you
all of the reasons why it’s not and all
of a sudden you don’t believe in
yourself the way you want to did because
you let an idea change your capacity God
give us the strength to recognize when
you’re giving us capacity and to protect
it from the rumors opinions doubts and
fears that are outside of us and inside
of us because the battle is over your
capacity if I can convince you that you
cannot do it then you’ll never fully tap
into your potential which means you’ll
never be able to expose someone else who
needs to see someone who looks like them
winning that they can do it to you see
you think this moment is all about you
but really it’s about the people who
will be exposed to you so you got to
protect your capacity and you have to
understand that pint-sized people don’t
really understand ocean size capacity so
stop trying to fix your ocean size
dreaming to pint-sized mentalities
because some things God gave you are too
big for other people to fathom I don’t
expect you to understand everything I
don’t need to be
by your yes about everything because I
recognize my capacity isn’t for everyone
that’s why I’m different that’s why my
style is a little different that’s why
my swag is a little bit different
because it’s not necessarily for
pint-sized capacities and and we love
pint-sized capacity there’s a place for
them come on Ben and Jerry’s a
pint-sized was just enough sometimes
ocean size capacity people need
pint-sized capacity people to fulfill
the vision so there’s a place for
everything you just got to know when
you’re connected to people whether
you’re connected to them because of the
capacity that is within you or because
you’ve got something that will help them
facilitate the smaller capacity that’s
down on the inside of them yeah so the
disciples are fishing and they have an
encounter with Jesus and Jesus tells
them I’m going to make you fishers and
then instantly their capacity has
changed so they dropped their nets and
they begin to follow Jesus and they’re
following him all over and they’re
watching him do miracle after miracle
after miracle and I wondered three years
in such a short time we talked about it
Jesus ministry was so short but I wonder
if it was really that short for the
disciples because they received a
promise that they would become fishers
as men but what they ended up really
doing was watching someone else
gather the men have you ever been in a
position where you had a promise over
your life that you thought was going to
be manifest but instead you just watched
as other people fulfilled what she
thought was the destiny on your life but
Jesus I thought you said well okay
first of all that fish and lows thing
was like really awesome kudos on that
but like I thought it was going to be my
turn three years they waited we can say
that Jesus ministry was short three
years but when it’s time for you to wait
three years for you’re promising me man
it says things start getting a little
long all right Jesus all right yes
another miracle look at Lazarus walking
around everybody thought he was dead Wow
glory to the land could you imagine like
oh I’m a little bit heady so I probably
would have got like fish and bread and
then like breaking it trying to see
people to see it’s the same in those
because you promised me something I
would be okay if you didn’t promise me
but you promise me something and I don’t
see what you promise me being manifest
why is it that I’m sitting here watching
everyone else win I’m watching everyone
else succeed I’m watching everyone else
get it right but for some reason the
thing you promised me it feels like it’s
dying on the inside it feels like you
said it to me but miss it for the person
beside me because every time I turn
around I’m celebrating them and going
home and wondering what about the
promise down on the inside of me what
about the business what about the music
I was supposed to be the one that sent
money home that changed everyone else’s
life and I barely have enough money to
make ends meet I was the one who was
supposed to climb the ladder but for
some reason I can’t even find the stairs
what about what about me three years
they waited and then I realized that
they weren’t just in the waiting game
that they were in a classroom and if we
are not careful we will not recognize
that some waiting seasons are not just
waiting seasons they are classrooms and
the reason why some of us have not
it is because we have not been taking
notes from the people around us and
we’re resentful that we haven’t been
promoted but have you even learned the
lessons of the people around you
God will place you in ruin an
environment where you can learn how
other people maneuver the way they
maneuver what works what doesn’t work
what was it about these disciples that
for three years they just sat there and
watched Jesus as he functioned he said
I’m going to make you fishers of men but
you don’t even understand how to handle
people when they come unless I show you
so I had to make you wait be patient
when you’re in these waiting seasons if
you were ready for it you would have it
and if you don’t have it that means
there’s something that you have to learn
it doesn’t mean you’re not talented it
doesn’t mean that you’re not good enough
it doesn’t mean that you are inadequate
it doesn’t mean that it’s not coming it
just means that there is some finishing
up that you still have left you’re
thinking too small but when we find in
the text I’m speaking from x-1 Jesus as
I mentioned he’s died he’s been
resurrected and he’s about to ascend to
heaven but before he goes he’s going to
release them into the promise that he
promised them over three years ago and
it says and being assembled together
with him he commanded them not to depart
from Jerusalem but to wait don’t leave
wait he says I’m going to leave you but
when I leave you I want you to stay in
the same place you met me and so the
presence takes you somewhere else I want
you to stay I don’t want you to be
impatient when you don’t see me the way
you’re used to seeing me but I want you
to trust that because I met you here
once that I’m not going to bring you
this far and leave you you just have to
start looking for me in a different
capacity I may not speak to you in this
season the way I was speaking to you
last season and don’t get frustrated and
start taking things into your
own hands and start creating your own
plan stay right where I have you until
the promise comes he says don’t leave
Jerusalem but wait for the promise of
the Father which he said you have heard
from me for John truly baptized with
water he says we respect and love the
way John baptized John baptized unto
repentance and baptism as it is today is
an outward expression of an inner
decision and he said and we honor John
for what he did he had baptized with
water but what I’m going to do with you
I’m going to baptize you with the Holy
Spirit not many days from now I’m going
to change the way you’re used to
connecting with me I’m going to change
the way you’re used to receiving from me
I have to get this out because I think
it’s so important that we don’t become
dependent on hearing from God in one
capacity because we limit how incredible
he is when you become super sensitive to
the voice of God you can be listening to
anything and all of a sudden get a word
from it you can see a common on
Instagram and saying for some reason
that resonated with my spirit when you
get in relationship with him not
religion you don’t make a move until you
hear his presence you don’t start doing
anything until you recognize whether or
not the presences and I want to be
baptized with the holy spirit I want to
be submerged and everything around me
submerge with the Holy Spirit and it
says therefore when they come together
they asked him saying Lord will you at
this time restore the kingdom to Israel
see for some reason the disciples
thought that once they got baptized with
the Holy Spirit that everything was
going to be over after that and if we’re
really honest so many of us are guilty
of the same thing
that we think once we receive the
promise that it’s going to go just as
quickly as it came that we’re not even
going to be able to live in the beauty
of the moment because we’re so afraid
that it’s going to escape us before we
can really enjoy it you see some
say we want success but the reality is
when you are successful there is this
question in the back of your mind
wondering how long can I really sustain
this yeah I’m making the ends meet now
but how long can I really sustain this
you’re going to baptize me with the Holy
Spirit but I want to know is that when
the kingdom is going to come because
there’s something about being baptized
with the Holy Spirit that leaves you
vulnerable because you’re no longer
depending on what’s possible for you
it’s what the Holy Spirit says and when
I tell you that God will put you in the
most interesting the month I really got
you think that much is me that you would
allow me the opportunity to influence
that you would expand my territory in my
platform you think that much of me
following the Holy Spirit ought to make
you so vulnerable that you cannot move
unless he says move because you
recognize that it’s not you out there
but you’ve led me this far and I will
not do it without you I will not move
without you I will not produce it
without you because I cannot sustain
this thing that you’ve given me and
that’s why we Tod because we recognize
that you didn’t just give me this job
because I was so good and so worthy and
because I did everything the right way
so I’m going to give this back to you
because I recognize you provided for me
once and I need you to do it over and
over again even if I lose the job I’m
going to ties on what I have left
because I recognize that you brought it
in and you’ll bring something else and
that’s how committed I am to following
the spirit I want to live the kind of
life family where I have to depend on
Jesus I don’t want to be so comfortable
and what’s within my controlling and
doing what I can handle I want to live
the kind of life that requires me to get
on my knees every single morning and say
lord I don’t know how I can make it
through today without you there are
people in the room who know better than
I do they speak better than I do they
have more knowledge and experience but
for some reason you’ve placed me in this
room so glad
give me the tongue of the learn help me
to understand what they’re saying put my
heart in the right position
that I could be full and sensitive and
humble oh god don’t let my pride get in
the way don’t let my ego get in the way
don’t let that me that I used to be show
up in this new season god help me to
believe like never before
help me to step into that thing into own
it I just feel like God is bringing us
into a place of confidence about what
he’s in steel down on the inside of it
and that’s what’s happening in the text
are the disciples who had become so
dependent on connecting with Jesus in
one way was about to realize that they
were going to be able to look deep
within and pull out something from the
reservoir of what they’ve been exposed
to you’re going to have to start digging
into your roots in this season you
cannot be so ashamed of what you’ve gone
through that you missed the lessons that
are buried underneath that pain there
are lessons buried in that pain that has
equipped you for the very thing you say
you can’t handle right now
I wouldn’t put this obstacle in front of
you if I didn’t put the answer key
behind you so if you would just look
back on at minimum my faithfulness that
all things work together for your good
even when you didn’t think it was
working together for your good in the
moment look back and how I stood up and
stood tall for you look back at how I
moved you from this place to that place
and there was a job waiting for you when
you got there look back at how your
family was better and how I healed your
mother how I broke cancer out for your
father look back at the testimony of
your brothers and sisters and this one
heard some people who had God has done
enough for them that you could shut off
of what he’s done for them without even
tapping into what he’s done for you if
you would just start looking back over
your roots about how he’s kept you how
you thought your mind was gone and your
heart would never be healed but look at
you sitting here still surviving look at
you still touchable still reachable
you’re going to have to tap into that
effect that I got you I got you in this
season you’re not in it on your own
you’re not wrong for dreaming you’re not
wrong for pursuing I got you and I know
you’re unsure and I know you’re
uncertain and I know you don’t know what
step to take but I promise you I promise
you I promise you that thing I promised
you years ago
is going to be manifest it’s not going
to be in your timing it’s going to be in
my timing because I have some lessons
for you to learn and when I unleash you
[Applause]
when I unleash you nothing will be able
to stop you he tells the disciples don’t
leave don’t leave until the promise
comes because if you leave without the
promise you’ll run out of fuel if you
leave without the promise that the
memories will start getting foggy and
you won’t remember exactly how many fish
or how many loaves I had you’ll forget
how I came through if you leave without
the promise of the Holy Spirit
you’ll forget that I can reach down into
your deepest darkest days and I can pull
you out that the Sun will come out in
the morning you’ll forget you’ll forget
if you leave this place without the
promise and some of you have been in a
holding pattern because he wanted to
fill you up with so much promise and so
much history of his faithfulness and so
much history of His goodness that when
you start playing with the big boys and
the big league with the people who look
like they’re more powerful and stronger
than you you’ll say I don’t care how
much money you have I don’t care how
much influence you have my God got me
out of sleeping in somebody’s car and
brought me all the way to Los Angeles
and he made a way out of knowing and
yeah I had to sleep on a few couch isms
and yet everything didn’t go the way I
thought but I’m still here
and he told me there was strength down
on the inside of me when people walked
away from me that I thought I could
never live with them I found a way to
breathe again he let me go through the
struggle so I could understand my own
strength and maybe you had it easier or
maybe you didn’t because you’re not as
as I am and you’re not as persuaded that
ends I am that he’s with me then he’ll
never leave me and nor forsake me and so
I had to go through some things where I
felt forsaken so that I could fully
understand that he’s better to me than
anyone has ever been and verse 7
continues and Jesus basically says this
is the Ebonics version mind your
business that’s all in my tradition
fresh friends okay and he said to them
it is not for you to know times or
seasons which the father has put in his
own authority he said don’t worry about
how long you’re going to be there
don’t worry about how long you’re going
to be able to stay in the room don’t
worry about whether the relationship is
too good to be true and one day will be
over it’s not on you to understand the
times or seasons which the father has
put in his own Authority our fathers got
things under control and because I
called him father it’s because I want
you to know that it’s not just God his
father he loves you he loves you and
everything that unfolds and time is
going to be painted with that love that
means you don’t have to be afraid of
what tomorrow holds because our Father
our Father he has it in his authority
and this is the part verse 8 that you
must leave with she says but you shall
receive but you shall receive I want you
to say power like you believe something
just took ahold of your destiny that no
devil inhale can shake up I want you to
say power like no weapon formed against
you shall prosper I want you to say
power like you’re not just coding it out
of some bible scripture but you’re
actually crazy enough to believe that
that thing that God promised you has
power all down working on the inside of
you I want you to say power like the
Holy Spirit just descended upon you like
a dove and that you have
that he that began a good work in you so
finish that thing through the days of
Jesus Christ I want you to say power my
generational curses cannot stand against
the promise of God I want you to say
power like you believe all things are
working together for your good I want
you to say power like books are being
written about what you’re going to do in
the earth I want you to say power like
cities will know your name I want you to
say power like the Holy Spirit and come
upon you but you shall receive but you
shall receive say it like the government
has power in the Holy Spirit is working
through even when we don’t understand it
layered like their power over poverty
like theirs power over terrorism like
theirs power over that thing that
talking to you I dare you to start
looking at your problem and that I have
received and you don’t understand who
you’re messing with
you don’t understand who I am I have
received power
our Holy Ghost power
you’re destroying power yet stronghold
pulling down power Giants play in power
demon chasing power power power power
how I wish you would say power like the
precious doesn’t have a hold of you like
suicidal thoughts can’t hold you down
power power

the same power the same power that
existed in this text is the same power
that’s available to you
you’ve just been sleeping on cruise
control for so long that you didn’t
recognize that you could floor it with
your Holy Spirit and be pushed into full
throttle you’ve been on cruise control
for too cold and God bit me and told me
on my very first sermon back that I want
you to awaken my sons and daughters to
the power that’s working down on the
inside of them that they don’t have to
be afraid of anything it is with power
that we rebuke anything that comes up
against you it is when power that the
lame man picks up his bed and began
walking it is with power that Lazar has
got up from the dead it is with power
that movie deals and books and
nonprofits and music and healed hearts
and homeless people off of the streets
and God said my people are walking
around like they have forgotten the
power that is available to them that I
am establishing the kingdom on earth and
I cannot do it unless they tap into that
power and the reality is that so many of
us have been baptized with so many other
spirits that we don’t even know what it
feels like to be baptized with the Holy
Spirit any longer but I believe on this
night that there is an opportunity to be
baptized in the Holy Spirit anew that
you can be refreshed like never before
and that when he baptizes you in that
Holy Spirit that doors are going to
start opening that when he baptizes you
with that that soul tides are going to
be broken
that hearts are going to be mended and
you like the disciples will be witnesses
to me not just in Jerusalem which was
their hometown or in all of Judea and
Samaria which was around them but to the
end of the earth I’m not foolish I know
that there are people in this room who
were called to touch the world you
cannot do it on your own you need power
you need the kind of power to stand tall
when everyone else is Val your head you
need the kind of power that says go at
it even when the odds are against you
you need power you need power you need
power yoke breaking power yeah the kind
of power where you can pick yourself up
out of the other depression when you
start saying oh no I am the
righteousness of God oh no my mind must
come into submission with what I know to
be true oh no these self can’t run
around in my head that I’m going to fail
or that I’m not going to be duped that
right now in the name of Jesus and I
call my mind into alignment you’re going
to line up with what God says about me
because I have the kind of power to do
that I’m not saying there won’t be a
battle but I’m saying there’s a power
down on the inside of you that says I
don’t care who wins what God has for me
is for me and I found my lane and I’m
sticking into it because in my lane
there is no competition in my lane I can
floor that gas pedal and be in full
throttle that power is what I need and
I’m not I’m not moving without that
power there are people in this room who
have forgotten that power and they
didn’t even realize that they had
forgotten it until they got into this
room and they realized man I’ve been on
cruise control I know it’s the
old-school church but the old-school
church believed in that power
and I know they didn’t do everything
right and there are a lot of rules and
restrictions but they believe that you
could get in the corner and say Jesus
Jesus Jesus Jesus Jesus Jesus Jesus
Jesus that there was power in the name
of Jesus Jesus Jesus and that children
would be saved and that Jesus Jesus
Jesus would heal somebody in that Jesus
Jesus they knew something about that
power and I’m not saying we got to go
back to everything they was doing they
would sit me in the back to praise the
Lord but we cannot lose that power our
children need that power this nation
needs that power this government needs
that power and I wish I had just a few
hundred people who had made a new
commitment in a church in Hollywood that
in spite of what people say about
Millennials and in spite of what people
say about Los Angeles that there are
some people who believe in that power
power power that Jesus Jesus Jesus Jesus
that Jesus just say Jesus if you said
Jesus Jesus Jesus Jesus Jesus anointing
that allows for our light to so shine
before all men

maybe you’re in this room and you say I
forgot how to access that power but I
know I needed you said something and it
reminded me of of who I used to be or
what I used to believe were or the roots
of my grandmother or something that I
heard there was something about power
that I heard in this room and I needed I
needed I want you to meet us at this
altar where two or three are gathered in
my name there I will be in the mist
one can taste one thousand two can chase
ten thousand what if we all got on one
accord with the power the power of the
Holy Spirit working down on the inside
of us when you walked up here I saw
Shane staying in the seats I saw guilt
staying in the seat your shame cannot
have more power than your God your guilt
cannot have more power than God we
baptized that here at this altar we’re
going to baptize you in the Holy Spirit
that you would have a new truth that you
would understand in this moment that you
are not covered in anything but the
blood that you will forget those things
that are behind you that you would press
towards the mark I believe that when you
started walking to this altar that you
started walking into power that you
started walking into who God has called
you to be that you walked away from the
past you from the shame for you that you
embrace the power of God working down on
the inside of you I just happen to
believe in and it’s just an outward
expression of an inner decision when we
come to the altar to say I want to I
want to walk away from that old mindset
to put limits on what I could become
that that I had to have this or I had to
have that to be flashy when all I needed
was the Holy Spirit because the Holy
Spirit is
for me I want to walk away from that
girl who has to have somebody in their
life to feel validated I want to walk
away from that man who who used to make
his claim on how many women I want to
walk away from that scene because it had
more power over me than the guy working
down on the inside of me and I know
you’ve called me to do great things but
I cannot do it without your power no I
will not do it without your power it’s
the world offers me and it doesn’t have
your aroma on it I do not want it
because I have a world that everyone
life that everyone loves but a heart
that is still broken thank you first the
kingdom and everything else you need
will be added to you and even things you
didn’t know you need and even things
that you didn’t think you would deserve
it it’ll all be added to you but your
priorities have been a little misaligned
and you thought your power was and what
the world said I thought my power was
then me viewed it being beautiful I
thought my power was in me being young
and I and I used that power but for some
reason I still ended up more broken each
time god I want to have the kind of
power that the world can’t take away
from me I want to have the kind of power
that heartbreak can’t take away from me
that disappointment can’t take away from
me if you would just fill me with your
spirit and your power I know everything
else will be okay so we welcome you and
we say have your way make room in my
heart make room in my heart if there’s
something in me that’s not of you take
it out make room in my heart
clear it out okay abandonment issues
rejection issues failures past mistakes
make room in my heart for this power
make room in it questions about whether
I’m going to make it make room in my
heart gotta I need that power to
overcome this addiction I need that
power make room in my heart purify me O
God purify my heart clean my hands I
want to be a conduit of your power I
want people to have an encounter with me
and then wonder what happened to them
and I’ll know it was your pal were
working down on the inside of me I want
to break things off of my family and
people will be wondering how do we make
it and I want to say it was your power
one person can change something for
their entire family you can be saved
enough for your children’s children’s
children’s children and it will be
because of the power working down on the
inside of you I need your power my
children needed my grandparents needed I
need that power oh god I cannot live
without it

so we surrendered baby
they’ve got a variety no it’s Hollywood
Reporter does articles every year and
they they do the top power brokers in
various segments segments power agents
and they say the most powerful people in
Hollywood and what they mean is those
who have the most influence and those
who in their estimation call the shots
but the word says at the same spirit
that raised Jesus from the dead just
think about that for something the same
spirit the same spirit that raised Jesus
from the dead is in you the same not a
different power the same that raised
from death raised from the dead raised
from the dead death had no power over it
dwells in you this is an incredible word
I believe that God is stirring something
up that’s on the inside of you and and
you’ve got that power we’re going to
pray into it but you’ve got that power
the kingdom of God has them put that up
there for the kingdom of God is not in
word although there are a lot of words
church and in your life it’s not in for
the king of God is not in word it’s
empowered the sign of the kingdom having
touch you is power acts 1 and 8 and you
shall receive power when the Holy Spirit
comes upon you so power is your
inheritance are you tracking with it
it’s not like an add on an added bonus
it literally is your inherent sin god
you’re an inheritance in the Lord so how
do you get the power
you got to believe first of all the
basics the fundamental basics are
believing in Jesus believing in the Lord
and I also think that power necessitates
your understanding that God wants you to
be filled with him now we can’t be
filled with God and fill with other
stuff and so I believe that that
repentance is a big part of it I believe
coming to God and saying God you know
what I’ve been full of a whole bunch of
other stuff I’ve been full of this i’ve
been full of that i’ve been full anger
i’ve been full of bitterness i’ve been
full of lust
i’ve been full of stuff and so so see on
the day that Jesus approached them and
he said you shall receive power soon
they went into the upper room and they
got on one Accord it didn’t happen
overnight it took ten days and I believe
in that ten days it was ten days of
getting their hearts right getting their
minds right getting themselves together
so that there was a container that had
the capacity to receive this outpouring
of the Spirit which ultimately set them
ablaze their life changed forever and
the lives of everybody around them
changed forever so I believe there’s a
preparation to the baptism of the Spirit
I believe it’s about repentance and
repentance is simply God I’m hungry for
you empty me oh I feel the Lord right
there I can’t be full of you and full of
other stuff I’ve got a 2 and I desire
your spirit so much that tonight I’m
willing to let go of everything that I’m
loving on that’s keeping me from being
full of you are you
ready I wish I had time to tell you a
story before we pray because I really
want you to get it but I want you to get
it via understanding and I want you to
get the fullness of it I remember I was
struggling when I was a younger man with
promiscuity okay it was like that one
thing someone you heard this testimony
something you have it but it was like
that one thing man I had all the other
stuff
kind of worked out in place but that
this promiscuity thing had me and watch
this it had power over me it is possible
that there are things right now that
have power over you God’s going to fix
it because it’s a greater power out
there you you didn’t know that because
you were so overcome and overwhelmed by
its power over you that you didn’t know
there was a greater power the same power
that raised Jesus from the dead a power
that pumped death popped death and so
that was me the sting had power over me
I was like a puppet it called and I came
I feel the spirit I don’t know this
world he called and I came
even though like Paul said in Romans
seven that that I want to do I don’t do
that that I’m trying not to do I
continue to do and that’s what I want to
do I can’t ever do why because this
thing had power over me if you hear and
you should be at the altar because I’m
driving right down your street come on

something’s about to happen just just
make your way forward you’re watching

was in is in 2000 beginning 2000 I cried
out to God and I came to this place
family where I begin to hate what had
power over me
see until you hate what’s keeping you
from fullness you’ll never get free
that’s why I’m taking a minute here you
can say god I want your power all day
long but if you’re not willing to
denounce that thing that has power over
you ain’t gonna happen
because God will not violate your will
he is a perfect gentleman
he will not tie you down and rape you of
your will he won’t do that he just was
you with his love he says I love you I
got plans for you I got you I don’t care
where you been how crazy has been how
dark has been I got you if you would
trust me if you were surrendered to me
if you will lay it all down if you will
cry out to me then I will come through
for you and that was me and so check
this out at first like I wanted power
but then I wanted that there was his
conflict going on the side of him I know
I’m talking about
there was this conflict going on inside
of me yeah god I want your power but
even when I was praying for power there
was a part of me that was still thinking
about the joys the pleasures of what I
said I wanted him to give me the power
to break off of me
I think in those 10 days in the upper
room they had to work out some stuff
they had to come to a place they had to
be in isolation so that they can really
begin to deal with themselves and in the
presence of God allow God to show you
what is actually in your heart oh I feel
the Lord because the heart is deceitful
the Bible says that the heart is
desperate deceitful above all it’s
desperate and then it says who can know
it it’s difficult for you and I to know
our hearts and the beautiful thing about
the presence of God and surrendering and
opening up to God is it begins to reveal
the things in your heart because
sometimes the reason why we don’t have
power in our lives is because there are
things in our heart that are contrary to
the desire for the power can’t talk to
you like this for real because we don’t
get some power tonight for real it’s
going to be some real like I’m leaving
out of here different tonight for real
we’re not going to shout and go home
without a process I love you too much
not to give you the process and so I
came to a place where on the one side of
me I was saying God I want your power to
break this off the other side of me is
saying oh but I like it hello no hello
that’s being real with yourself that’s
being real with yourself the truth shall
set you free so you got to tell the
truth there’s a difference between what
is right and what is true what is right
is where I’m headed what is true is
where I am you tracking with me and
that’s what you’ve got to work with you
got to you got to work with that and so
in the presence of God I had to
acknowledge that I actually loved what I
was asking God to take and that was a
problem because I had another lover
I love God on the one hand but I love my
sin almost equally because I spent just
as much time with my sin as I did with
my god and I came to a place where I
realized that I wasn’t going to have it
both ways

shall have no other God before me and
that other thing was like a god to me if
it can make me cheat on God anybody I’ve
been there before can I talk to some
real people in here tonight and so so
what happened what happened was I
finally got to a place through through
waking up after this false God violated
me seduced me in and then when it was
over left me feeling like man I got a
crawl back to God can like god I just me
and you man we were getting to know each
other better and I’m I’m loving on you
and I and your blessing me and and God I
want to be true to you but every time
this false lover calls I go a running
and when I run towards it I’m running
away from you every man is – I don’t
know why I’m taking the time to do this
somebody needs this the Bible says that
every man is tempted when he is drawn
away drawn away drawn away of his own
lust and enticed
what is he drawn away from he’s drawn
away from God so temptation it’s not
that it’s drawing you to it that’s not
the greatest difficulty or challenge
with temptation it’s not what it’s
drawing you to it’s what it is drawing
you away from you trackin with me don’t

what you’re leaving
it draws you away from your destiny it
draws you away from the promises of God
and most of all it draws you away from
the power hallelujah and so I was in
this thing and I was you know and I be
drawn away and even though I was drawn
away because it was my rhythm

for so long
and so it was natural for me to sin in
that way God is going to change your
rhythm I feel the spirit of the Living
God Allah through some other prophetic
God is going to change your rhythm it’s
in your rhythm that’s why you look up
and you’re like dang I like it here
because it’s in your programming
you didn’t even decide it it decided the
rhythm decided for you and you were
there if I’m talking to you come on down

just yeah so your rhythm so God had to
break the rhythm and so what happened
was the more I press in the God I’m so
proud of you and I’m so proud of you
watching because because you’re pressing
in the God here that there’s a rhythm
that needs to be worked out but you’re
pressing in to God and so the more I
pressed into God the more I began to
experience a different rhythm and the
more that I was desiring God the more
that I began to God was he was as his
spirit was coming upon me and as he was
talking to me a new rhythm began to
emerge and over time what was normal
started to become awkward hallelujah and
I prophesied that over you right now
what was once normal is going to begin
to become awkward there’s a shift taking
place you’re being transformed by the
renewing of your mind that’s why I’m
talking to you because your mind is
being renewed by these words let me show
you how to win
and when the presence of God that you
and I continue to press into your
pressing into it now the presence of God
begin to disrupt they used to say I’m
not where I want to be but thank God I’m
not what I used to be and so so I don’t

to God starts to feel more natural and

it felt unnatural quicker you tracking
with me quicker it used to take me the
stumble to wake up but then the rhythm
that the different cadence begin to wake
me up and I got to a place altum Italy
where I hated what I wants loved are you
tracking with me and the reason why I
hated it is because it was standing in
the way of a god that I was falling
deeper and deeper and deeper in love
with and when I hated it brothers and
sisters sons and daughters family and
when I hated it sufficiently but
sometimes your hate has to get right I
feel the Spirit of God I just want
sometimes your hatred for it has to get
right well you have to say you know what
devil I am tired of dancing with you on

of playing with you you are not for me
and since you’re not for me I’m not for
you I’m against you and that’s what
happened I said I’m done with you
and when I did that and I prayed and I
asked God to give me the strength and I
meant it and every part of my body meant
it the Spirit of God fell and I’ll never
forget this image that I saw and the
image literally in it this in a moment
and you know what I was praying with
somebody it is really important for you
to pray we’re gonna pray for you tonight
but it is really important for you as my
wife said while she was preaching today
to hook up with someone who has capacity
perhaps even the capacity to trying to
get to because I was praying with his
brother and he started praying in the
spirit he start praying in tongues and

had agreed with him that I was going to

became a completely different way and
the church was birthed and 3,000 people
got saved and filled with the Spirit of
God I feel like something crazy is about
to happen in this room right now
something that’s bigger than me

think about something that has power
