i want to look at two passages of
scripture i want to look at hebrews
chapter 10
verses 35 and 36
and then also i want to look at the
gospel according to matthew
i want to look at chapter 26 we’ll start
in verse 36 and go down to verse 46 when
you ready to read and say yeah
if you’re not ready say hold up
all right well hurry up come on come on
hebrews chapter 10
starting in verse number 35 and it
declares
so do not
throw away
your confidence
it will be richly rewarded
you need to persevere look at your
neighbors say don’t quit
so that when you have done the will of
god
you will receive what he has promised
whoo that was so nice i want to read it
twice and plus pastor mike said i could
take my time today the writer of hebrews
says so do not throw away your
confidence
it will be richly rewarded you need to
persevere so that when you have done the
will of god you will receive what he
has promised can you say amen
and i want to look at a moment in the
life of jesus in matthew chapter 26
and it says then jesus went with his
disciples to a place called gethsemane
and he said to them
sit here while i go over there and pray
you took peter and the two sons of
zebedee with him and he began to be
sorrowful and troubled then he said to
them
my soul
is overwhelmed with sorrow to the point
of death
stay here and keep watch with me
going a little farther he fell with his
face to the ground and prayed my father
if it is possible
may this cup be taken from me
yet
not as i will but as you will
then he returned to his disciples and
found them calling on the name of the
lord
speaking in tongues and walking back no
no they wasn’t that spiritual ah they
were sleeping
and he said to them uh couldn’t you man
keep watch with me for one hour he asked
peter
watch and pray so that you will not fall
into temptation
the spirit is willing
but the flesh
is weak he went away a second time and
prayed my father if it is not possible
for this cup to be taken away unless i
drink it may your will be done and when
he came back he again found them
sleeping because their eyes were heavy
so he left them and went away once more
and prayed the third time saying the
same thing
then he returned to the disciples and
said to them are you still sleeping and
resting
look the hour has come and the son of
man is delivered into the hands of
sinners rise
let us go
here comes my betrayer
who
what intimate insight
into the personal prayer
of jesus
this prayer is distinctive from any
other prayer that jesus prays yes he
taught the disciples how to pray but
that was a model for prayer yes he
prayed for us and john and said i prayed
that they would be one but this prayer
is different
this was an intimate
moment where he was experiencing
pressure
i’m sorry my my mouth is a little dry
can i get some water just a cup of water
real quick i’m sorry your feet good stay
standing
appreciate that thank you for that cup
cup oh come back come back come back
because three times he prayed
that the cup
would be
removed from him
the cop
thank you for bringing this cup you
didn’t do anything to this water did you
okay i’m just making sure
what could come back what
i love tc because i said i need somebody
to bring me a cup
to set up the message and they picked
him
to bring the cup
they could have picked anybody they
picked him and what’s your name will
whoo
what do you do
when god’s will
brings you a if it was the devil
bringing me the cup i say i rebuked this
cup in the name of jesus but it’s hard
to rebuke
the cup
when is god’s will
you can’t pray this cup away you it’s
almost like you got to be cuffed
to this cup because this is the cup
of his will
now thank you for bringing it well the
reason i asked you if you poisoned it
or if it was all right
because that’s how they would kill kings
in biblical antiquity
they would put poison
in the cup
that’s why you needed a cup bearer who
would test the cup first
who wants that job
they just watch you drinking everybody
waiting to see if you die first
it was important
to make sure that the king’s cup
didn’t have poison before he drinking
but tc what do we say of a king
who knew there was poison in the cup
and yet he chose
to drink it anyway

i want to talk to you about how to have
confidence
under pressure
confidence
under pressure you need
a cup i feel like preaching today let’s
pray and then y’all can sit down because
i know your right toe is hurting right
now father thank you for your word thank
you for your presence that knows no
limits and no bounds father speak to
every single person today that has an
ear to hear what your spirit is saying
god we are ready we are receptive we
want to receive all that you have for us
lord we did not tune in today to be
entertained
god we’ve come to be drastically changed
have your way in jesus name everybody
said
you may be seated in the presence of the
lord
somebody say cub
confidence
under
pressure
ooh this fun month we may as well just
jump straight off the diving board how
many of you in here or even online would
say that you do good
under pressure can i see your hand if
you say i work well
under pressure a lot of hands a lot of
hands how many of you the opposite said
no no no don’t put no pressure on me i
need to know 10 months in advance i need
a massage and some nice classical music
playing don’t throw anything on me can i
see your hair you don’t do good on the
version oh goodness of your hand so
we’ve already separated the champions
from the chumps
no i’m playing i’m playing i’m playing
but the reality is there is something
about pressure that really reveals who
you are
pressure has a way of pulling things out
of you that you did not know was there i
believe that pressure is the litmus test
for greatness
it is the litmus test for greatness see
pressure really separates the good from
the great
the challenge is not can you do the task
the challenge is can you do it under
pressure pressure is a revealer of who
you are pressure will show you your
character
pressure will show you how much courage
you have and pressure is inevitable so
the question is not the pressure is can
you be confident when the pressure is
coming on you anybody can do the task
but the moments that we watch over and
over again are when people accomplish
great things while they’re under
pressure oh boo-boo i know you can sing
in the shower but if i put you on stage
with a microphone could you sing then
because there would be pressure pressure
i know you can sink that putt and put
put golf
oh yeah you’re real good at top golf but
that doesn’t make you a master if you go
to the masters and you have millions of
people watching you then can you sink
the putt because pressure is always the
litmus test for greatness it’s amazing
to see what pressure will pull out of
you there is a movie that i love it’s
one of my favorite movies because i
believe it is a picture of leadership
and the name of the movie is the king
speech and in the movie actor colin
firth plays
king henry vi
and the movie chronicles the pressure he
was under as his life pushed him to be
king he didn’t even want to be king
anybody ever been there well you didn’t
want to do something but god said oh no
you’re going to anyway and it pushed him
into this place and every time he had to
give a speech every time he had to speak
the pressure would mount and he would
oh the opening scene of the movie is
powerful it’s a picture of pressure
because it shows him walking up to the
microphone his hands are clammy his
heart is palpitating his upper lip is
sweating and all of a sudden the whole
crowd turns around and looks at him and
he goes
today
and he starts stuttering and all of a
sudden the crowd starts losing
confidence in him and he notices them
losing confidence and then he loses
confidence in himself and he buckles
under the pressure oh when i watched
that movie it spoke to me it spoke to me
particularly because of what i do i’m a
leader but i am called to communicate to
preach the gospel and how many know this
right here
oh it’s pressure you don’t believe me
come on up here
this is pressure i’m not trying to get
you to feel sorry for me but i’m just
saying i do have empirical evidence
statistics will tell you that the number
one human fear is public
speaking
y’all death is number two
yes yes that means people would rather
have a funeral than speak at a funeral
because of the pressure of what it is to
get up in front of people and then to
think about the unique nuance of this
right here because this ain’t a ted talk
i’m giving to you this is not a cute
speech whenever you preach the
infallible incorruptible unchanging word
of god you are coming up behind a pulpit
with your head held high saying that
you’ll put your heart to the very
heartbeat of heaven and you are speaking
on behalf of the preeminent pre-existent
incarnate omnipotent all-seeing
all-knowing all-powerful god
that right there is pressure and i
didn’t come to tc to get you to feel
sorry for me i’m called to do this but
i’m willing to bet anything
that if i was to put
your thoughts on speaker phone today
there would be so many people in this
room and even watching online who would
say pastor robert
i’m not a preacher
and i’m not a public speaker
but please believe that i
am under
pressure
what are you doing with the pressure
that you’re under right now
the pressure to perform
the pressure to meet the deadline
the pressure to fulfill
expectations
the pressure to fulfill the unrealistic
expectations of other people
the pressure to be the parent that you
never had
the pressure to raise kids in this
climate and this atmosphere in which we
pressure the pressure to walk into a
boardroom of a job that you got but you
don’t feel like you deserved it and you
trying to give your powerpoint
presentation and you try to be confident
but on the inside of you you are sweet
and shaken because of the pressure
pressure
does not care what your age is pressure
is not prejudice pressure is not racist
pressure is not sexist pressure will hit
you wherever you are it’ll hit a ceo in
a board room it’ll hit a little girl in
a junior high classroom pressure you
would be shot at the pressure the person
sitting next to you is under so much
pressure
pressure purge sometimes people will say
stuff to you and they don’t even realize
that the statement caused pressure
pressure to get married are you still
single
pressure to get divorced are you still
with him
pressure people will tell you little
statements that cause financial pressure
oh i thought another double date i put a
hundred and five dollars in my tank a
hundred and five dollars in texas and
then i went in my car and saw the
temperature and it was 105. i said now
this is hell on earth right here how in
the world is the temperature and the gas
price is the same but it is
it is pressure
for pressure
pressure to be the spouse that was there
before you
that you’re constantly being compared to
pressure to walk into environments where
people have more education than you and
the enemy whispers in your ear
intimidation
because they have so many degrees and
they’re talking about their
dissertations at the table and there you
are talking about uh y’all hear that new
drake album
and all of a sudden
you’re struggling
with the pressure i want to know how you
handle the pressure because hear me it
is a trick of the enemy to get you to
buckle under the pressure to get you to
walk away from the call of god that is
on your life because of the pressure
that will come with the call see here’s
what i’ve learned about the enemy which
is good news to me the enemy cannot
touch your calling
i’ll shout right there some of y’all
give him too much power the enemy cannot
touch your calling if you’re worried
about the enemy messing with your
calling can i tell you relax today the
enemy cannot touch your calling as a
matter of fact the enemy can’t even
touch your gift oh the bible says the
gifts of god are without repentance
means he just gave you the gift because
he’s a good good father he said you can
have it some people don’t even choose to
use the gift to give him glory but he
still was so kind and so gracious just
to give you the gift the enemy cannot
touch your gift he cannot touch your
call oh but he can touch your confidence
and he will attack your confidence
because if he can get your confidence
you will shrink away from your call and
you will deny the gift that is in you
and you will buckle under the pressure
and the fear will stop you from stepping
out
god is looking for somebody
that has the cup
confidence
under
the pressure would you wake up your
neighbor and just elbow them and say you
need a cup you need a cup tell them come
on tell them you need a cup
you need confidence
under
the
pressure
and hear me today tc
i think pressure
mounts up for believers more than any
other group of people
oh yes i think pressure mounts up for
believers more than any other group of
people first of all because of the
attack that comes against us okay you
know you are being hit right now from
three different sides
you are being hit right now sound
effects make preaching better you are
being hit right now from three different
sides
every believer is always at war hear me
with the world
with the enemy satan and with your flesh
those three things have an incredible
ability to put pressure on you because
they are always there we are at war with
the systems of this world how many you
know the systems of this world are
completely antithetical and opposed to
the kingdom of god this is an upside
down kingdom everything in this world is
completely opposite of the kingdom of
god you got to be real careful if you’re
always going with the flow if you’re
always following the current of culture
because we serve a kingdom that is
diametrically opposed to the kingdoms of
this world how many know the kingdom of
this world says kick people down do
whatever you got to do to get to the top
the kingdom of god says no serve people
because the last shall be first this
kingdom is upside down the kingdom of
this world says get all you can and can
all you get be selfish but the kingdom
of god says no no no no you serve a god
that has been generous with you so you
be generous with other people and freely
give i’m telling you this kingdom is
upside down
and so i’m fighting
the principles and the systems of this
world and then i’m fighting the enemy
who is real
who has
a target on your forehead
and the way he attacks you hear me is by
always trying to get a lie
lodged in your mind
the bible says in john chapter 8 that
all he speaks is lies he is the father
of lies and i found that the enemy
always is trying to get a lie
lodged into my mind that i will embrace
as truth
and there’s nothing scarier than a lie
that you have accepted as truth
so i got the enemy
and then i got
my flesh
if the other two wasn’t enough i got
stuff on the inside of me
that is still being transformed i got
stuff on the inside of me that does not
line up with the will of god see some of
y’all acting bougie right about here
don’t act like just cause you gave your
life to christ and you’ve been walking
with god for a long time and you know a
few scriptures that you always holy that
you always got spiritual thoughts the
devil is alive you have some flesh on
the inside of you that’s why you should
never turn up your nose at other people
who are still in process cause you are
still in process i’ve seen you in
traffic any crazy when a car cut you off
oh i didn’t know that was in me i
thought it was just tongues but
sometimes circumstances and situations
will show you that my flesh is still in
prison

and so all
of these attacks
are causing pressure
on top of the reality who
that church people love to pretend like
they’re always okay
have you noticed this
see sometimes it’s not even just the
pressure it’s the pressure coupled with
the pressure to pretend that you’re good
yeah come on we’re always in church i’ve
church people are the only people that
will hide pain depression through
christianity oh i’m blessed
i’m highly favored i’m the head or not
to tell yeah no it’s good it’s good you
know god is good all the time i know
he’s good are you good
well i want to do this this exercise i
do this often i want to help some of
y’all in the room and the tc nation
would you do me a favor just look at
somebody around you and just say
neighbor
oh come on look at him say neighbor
god is good
all the time
and all the time
god is good
look at that same never say neighbor
news flesh
i’m not god
didn’t that feel good right there just
to let them know don’t get it twisted
god is good all the time i am not good
all the time sometimes i’m upset
sometimes i’m annoyed sometimes i need
extra prayer sometimes i’m frustrated
sometimes i’m perturbed sometimes i
don’t even like coming to church and
talking to my neighbor because my
neighbor is the one that’s causing me
all the drama in the first place
don’t you carry the pressure
of pretending you’re okay
along with the pressure of life oh i
knew i was supposed to preach this
because we pulled up true story we pull
up to transformation church and the car
gives a signal as we pull up that the
tire pressure
was a low
y’all pray i’ll make it back to dallas i
gotta go fill it up
and get some tire get some air back in
my tire and it’s interesting because
they mandated in 2007 that every car has
to have what they call a tpms
it’s a tire pressure monitoring system
they did it because so many people were
having blowouts they were having
blowouts how many know a blowout is
generally caused because you don’t have
enough air
in your tire and when you are going on
your journey and you’ve got the weight
of the car and there’s not enough
pressure in the tire you blow out
consequence coincidentally that is the
example really of burnout is when
there’s a level of requirement
of you that you don’t have resources to
sustain
so your tire can blow out if you don’t
have enough air
but your tire can also blow out
if you got too much hair
so the challenge is to have just the
right amount of pressure see some of
y’all are frustrated and blowing out
because you don’t have enough pressure
you need more pressure in your life it’s
not that the weight is too much is that
you don’t have enough pressure in your
life some of you don’t have enough and
some of you have too much
the challenge of life is to go on my
journey with the right amount
of pressure
i love what the apostle paul says in
second corinthians y’all good look at
what paul says this this is paul that’s
why you can’t tell me you don’t have
pressure look at the dude who wrote
almost all of the new testament look at
what he says in second corinthians
chapter 1 verses 8 through 10 i love
what paul says he says we do not want
you to be uninformed brothers and
sisters about the troubles we
experienced in the province of asia we
were under great
pressure far beyond our ability to
endure so that we the spirit of life
itself indeed we felt we had received
the sentence of death but this happened
that we might not rely on ourselves but
on god who raises the dead he has
delivered us from such a deadly peril
and he will deliver us on him we have
set our hope and he will continue to
deliver us oh do you see what the
apostle paul is saying he said i’m going
to keep it 100 with you i had some
pressure it felt like a sentence of
death he said but now i can look back on
the pressure and see that the pressure
actually was serving a purpose the
pressure was necessary the pressure made
me not rely on my own gift my own talent
or my own ingenuity the pressure made me
rely on god i don’t know who this
message is for right now but you
actually ought to pause and start
thanking god for the pressure that
pressure is making you pray that
pressure is making you have a prayer
life that pressure is making you worship
you didn’t worship before but now that
you got some pressure you’ve learned how
to lift up your hands you’ve learned how
to call on the name of jesus oh you’re
not gonna help me as a matter of fact i
don’t think you can really worship until
you’ve worshipped under pressure
anybody can praise god when they get a
raise anybody can praise god when they
get a spouse anybody can praise god when
they get win the lottery but i want to
know can you praise god when you get a
divorce can you praise god when there’s
sickness in your body can you praise god
when your kids are going crazy and about
to repossess your car can you still walk
to church and say i will bless the lord
at all times and it’s praised
shall continually be in my mouth i feel
a praise break somebody in the room
right now would you just give god some
praise in the middle of the pressure and
let the enemy know this pressure is not
going to keep me quiet as a matter of
fact the pressure is producing something
great
i’m better under pressure
i’m better under pressure enemy i’m not
backing down my praise
is incubated
when i got pressure
oh
this is
this is the confidence hear me that we
must have
in these last days
we are in the season
across the world
of great pressure
and now more than ever we need believers
who won’t back down
who won’t be quiet
who won’t be intimidated
because of the pressure
and thank god for the model that we have
in jesus
because he said i’m not just going to
show you the parts of my life where i’m
walking on water
taking two fish five loaves and making
the first red lobster
hit on the sick and raising the dead it
would not
be right for me to show you my victories
and i’ll show you my vulnerabilities
so thank god for the garden of
gethsemane
we see jesus
under pressure
and by the way all that was my
introduction

there’s four things
that i see in the life of jesus
that help us today
to have confidence under pressure hear
me you under pressure you’re under
pressure right now and you’re trying to
see how do i have confidence under this
pressure i want to give you four things
that will help you have this confidence
under pressure and stop passing off a
cup
that you have to drink
the first thing
first thing
is a preview
you gonna have confidence under pressure
you need
a preview
hear me your god
loves to work in previews
generally whenever
you’re about to step into your purpose
before it ever happens he’ll give you a
preview
he’ll give you a preview of what he’s
about to do and the reason you need the
preview is because it is the preview
that you have to hold on to
when you have the pressure
the bible says in hebrews we get insight
into jesus preview it says in hebrews it
says that for the joy that was set
before him
he endured the cross scorning is shame
that’s what jesus did who was the joy
that was set before him you and i
we were the joy so he says yes i’m in a
place of pressure right now but there is
a joy that is set before me i’ve got to
go through this because on the other
side of this is communion with humanity
i’m going to be able to bridge the gap
that was created by adam’s sin in the
garden and he had to have that preview
if you don’t have the preview oh there’s
no way you’ll stand under the pressure
god will always give you a preview all
right how many of you in here uh you
like to go to the movies can i see him
you like to go to movies and chance you
let’s go to the movies okay i’ve learned
i can’t go to the movies with everybody
can’t go to the movies for everybody
because there’s some of you there’s some
of you whenever you go to the theater if
the movie starts at seven o’clock you’re
trying to leave the house at 6 55. i
don’t go to the movies with y’all okay
because you’re like it’s the previews i
don’t go to the movies with y’all i go
to the movies with people who know if
the movie starts at seven you gotta
leave the house at 5 50. yes you got to
get there you got to get comfortable i
got to go and get my peanut m ms i got
to get the popcorn and make sure they
don’t feel it all the way up to the top
hallelujah just all the way almost close
to the edge so i can put the butter in
it and shake it around i need to have
some time to get my seat and relax in my
seat because i ain’t trying to miss the
previews i want to see the previews
because the only thing better than going
to see a movie is going to see what
movie you’re going to see next while
you’re seeing the movie i
love the previews
go get somebody who’s just the previews
though i need the previews and it blows
my mind how they can give you the
preview of a movie and it is so powerful
how they show you certain little scenes
of the movie and you will be so excited
you’ll be like
i can’t wait till this drops this is
going to be good and right after you’ve
just gotten your heart all excited from
the preview they’ll hit you with this
coming 2050.
i gotta wait till 2050 for this book you
just got all my hopes up and i gotta
wait till 20 50. sometimes they won’t
even be that precise they’ll be like
coming soon
that is how your god works he will give
you a preview but i’m telling you in
between the preview and the premiere day
there is pressure but if he gave you the
preview hold on to the preview it has to
come to pass
uh who am i preaching to today the
enemy’s trying to get you to walk away
when you know god gave you the preview
he wouldn’t have gave you the preview if
it wasn’t gonna come to pass

see that’s i gotta stop right here this
is why i’m glad for where we’re filming
this right here i never forget i’m never
giving pastor mike took me right in this
room right here where it all started and
i couldn’t have a context for the spirit
bank arena until i saw this place right
here because god ain’t gonna give you a
preview in a beautiful place he will
give you a preview in a place that looks
completely opposite of where you are and
he wants to know where you hold on
even when there is pressure

see the saying why it’s your preview
you’re going to be the father
of many nations

you got a dream
while i got this dream
because it’s a preview
but don’t shout too soon
the pressure
it’s gonna come in the pit
it’s gonna come in the palace and god
always wants to know will you hold on to
the preview
even when it seems like the premiere
date
is taking forever
you need a preview
you need a preview if you’re going to
have confidence on the pressure but you
don’t just need a preview you also
number two
you need a place
you need a place
this is gonna blow your mind one time
jesus
is in the garden of gethsemane and if
you just read matthew and mark’s account
you will think that this is his first
time in this garden that he just
stumbled upon this garden
and now he’s praying
but i love dr luke’s account because
luke is a doctor and he is thorough
and luke gives us a little blues clues
that made me shout
when i read it look at luke 22
verse 42
he says um
he says uh
jesus went out
as
usual yeah verse 39 jesus went out as
usual to the mount of olives and his
disciples followed him on reaching the
oh come on somebody say it
okay about about 20 years somebody say
place
on reaching the place he said to them
pray
that you will not fall into temptation
did you hear what dr luke said
he said he went to the place as
usual
this was not jesus first time in this
garden praying
he had a regular routine he had a
consistent place of communion with the
father this was not an emergency prayer
because the pressure was mounting no no
no this was a place that he had already
been before god i feel you in here today
the reason why many of us are buckling
under the pressure is because you don’t
get a prayer life until life starts
going crazy no wonder you can’t handle
the pressure but god said if you were
just find a place if you would just find
a consistent place of connection with me
of communion with me you would be
shocked at the strength you would be
shocked at the fortitude you would have
if i could just have you in a consistent
place this is not a message of
condemnation this is a message of
encouragement to tell somebody
transition from being a 9-1-1 believer
you know i was like oh lord this bill
dude i need you now transition from
being a 911 believer to a psalm 91 1
believer
it says he who dwells in the secret
place of the most high he who dwells in
the secret place of the most i shall
abide under the shadow of the almighty
because my strength is in the dwelling
as simple as it is some of you right now
could actually have more power in the
pressure
if you just had a place
a consistent place and don’t let the
enemy intimidate you you ain’t gonna
start with six hours of prayer just
start small do something
take two minutes three minutes because
the enemy is after that place
you don’t believe the enemies after that
place don’t you find it strange that
whenever you’re getting ready to netflix
binge a show you’ve got all kinds of
energy you can watch the whole episode
but as soon as you get ready to open up
the word of god that sleepy demon with
you
and you wake up in your bible talk about
you know my heart jesus thank you
why the enemy’s trying to block your
place
because he knows if you ever get in that
place
you can handle the pressure
jesus says i’ve been to this garden
before
i wasn’t waiting for the pressure to
mount up
to find a place
you gonna have confidence under pressure
you need a preview
you need a place
that’s not enough
you also need
people
you need the right people
it’s not enough to have the preview
it’s not enough to have the place
if you do not have the right people
look at your god who was a fully god and
fully man
and yet he did not go by himself to this
garden
i’m thinking if i am god in flesh i
don’t need y’all to go to this garden
what y’all gonna do for me
y’all ain’t get on the cross with me i’m
good but no no no he’s modeling
something for us that when you are under
pressure you need people
and i come against this spirit of
isolation
that has started since the pandemic
where you want to isolate yourself and
you want to get away from community you
fight for community you fight to be in a
connector whatever you have to do
because you need people
but
you need all kinds of people
you better have the right people who
this is going to bless you this trip me
out look at it real quick in matthew 26
this is going to mess you up
he he didn’t just get
any type of people look who’s with him
in this moment matthew 26 it says then
jesus went with his disciples to a place
called gethsemane and he said to them

that when you are under pressure
you’ve got to have the right people with
you
because often when the pressure gets
greater your circle will get smaller
when i am under pressure i am vulnerable
and i cannot have everybody around me
when i’m under pressure i got to have
the right people around me under
pressure i don’t need negative people
around me when i’m under pressure when
i’m under pressure i need your
encouragement i need you telling me not
who i am but who i could be if i would
just keep going

actually two other moments he chose
these three
remember when he healed jairus daughter
and he cleared the room he said oh y’all
get out why because she about to get up
and you messing up the atmosphere

tells her give her something to eat and
then he does something strange she walks

being in that room you saw a girl who
you knew was dead

because jesus
took her hand and now you’re going out
to the other now and say what happened
in the room oh man
can’t really tell you about it
it happened on the mount of
transfiguration these three
he starts revealing his glory
his clothes become whiter than anybody
could ever bleach it moses and elijah
people who are dead show up
only these three got to see this they
walking back down the mountain they bout
to post it and jesus ah
keep it to yourself come on you know you
know you would have had it on tick tock
just just just contextualize it can you
imagine going on a mountain with jesus
and then tupac and biggie just show up
right there

the pressure is mounting because you
have the wrong
people
and god’s saying when was the last time
you did an audit
of your circle
to make sure that the people that are
with you are not adding to the weight
and the pressure that you’re under
you you’re gonna have confidence on the
pressure you need a preview
you need
a place consistent communion with god
you need people but not just any people
the right
people
there’s levels to intimacy some of you
are too intimate too quick with
information and with yourself to other
people that have not earned that level
of intimacy

somebody says i gotta have the right
people
and here’s the last one
and i’m done somebody can play real soft
make this sound spiritual as i land
because here’s what trips me out
is that even
though we had
the right people

their behavior in this vulnerable moment
shows you the frailty of humanity
these are the only three
that get to see him sweating blood
i’m thinking come on y’all all he asked
you to do was just pray with him for one
hour all the miracles you saw you
couldn’t just pray with everyone out
and they’re asleep
and finally jesus after checking a few
times says go ahead and go back to sleep
it’s fine
you know why because at the end of the
day you’re just flesh
you’ve got to have the right people but
ultimately people cannot be your source
of hope and power
the reason they cannot be your source of
hope is because
they are flesh
they’re flesh
and all flesh
falls asleep
i don’t care who you voted for i don’t
care what’s your culture what your race
is i bet you’re gonna go to sleep
nobody is so spiritual you just awake
all the time
he never sleeps or slumbers we do
but he finally gets to a place where he
says sleep on
and some of us hear me are so
heartbroken
because we put too much hope
in other people
and when they fell asleep on us
we got bitter
and we walked away
instead of giving grace you know why
because you fall asleep too
isn’t it funny how you have so much
grace for when you fall asleep
when i can’t believe you would sleep on
me you sleep
too so many times we put so much hope in
other people
and my other people cannot be the source
of my hope
ultimately i gotta go somewhere else
i gotta have
power

not regular power supernatural power

they were the right people but they fell

there’s no other place to go but back to

powerful thing you can pray which is not
my will but god’s will be done
look at what happens he says father if
you’re willing take this cup for me yet
not my will
but yours be done
an angel
from heaven
appeared to him
and strengthened him
and being in anguish he prayed more
earnestly and his sweat
was like drops of blood falling to the
ground did you read what i just read
jesus prayed not my will but your will
be done and right after he prayed that
the bible says an angel appeared and
strengthened him when i read that i took
some issue i took some issue with mel
gibson i took issue with mel gibson
because i watched the passion of the
christ i watched it a couple times and
nowhere in that gethsemane scene did i
ever see an angel come to strengthen
jesus i saw the little evil character
with no eyebrows that was bald-headed
they had this snake i didn’t see this
angel and i’m thinking if you’re gonna
produce a movie please show the angel i
need to see the angel i need to know
that when i’ve been given a preview of
the promise and when i found a
consistent place of communion with god
and that when i found the right people
but even those people have let me down i
need to know that if i’ll just humble
myself and surrender and say god not my
will but your will be done i don’t like
it it doesn’t feel good but it’s your
will i need to know that an angel will
come that i got supernatural assistance
and power even in my moment of weakness
oh i don’t know who this is for today
but you’ve been focusing on the sweats
of blood that you didn’t even see that
you got strength you got power that god
already released angels to give you the
strength that you need come on you know
you said you wasn’t gonna make it in
2020 but look at you you’re still here
you’re still standing you said you were
gonna have a nervous breakdown but you
still got your right mind how is that
possible because strength come that’s
coming
oh i need somebody right now to give god
the best praise that you got like you
know that if you will surrender strength
is coming to you hope is coming to you
life is coming to you i got straight

you can be so busy
seeing the sweat of blood
can be so busy
focused on who fell asleep on you
and who’s betrayed you
and who’s left
and you don’t even see
that strength
power
has come to you
because god will always give power
when you give surrender
some of you right now are still
complaining about the cup that you’re
supposed to drink
saying god i’m not gonna do it
but he’s waiting for
a prayer that says
not my will
but your will be done
need a cup
you need to drink the cup confidence
under the pressure
nobody else can drink it for you
only you can pray that prayer of
surrender
and if you would surrender
god says i got power
i got strength
that will come to you even
with the sweat
that’s coming off your forehead
i’m gonna ask every head be bowed eyes
be close i
sense the power of god in the presence
of god
i don’t know who this is for today but
you will not
back down
you can’t give up

there’s too much purpose on your life

come against every lie and whisper of
the enemy that says you won’t make it
trying to get you to kill yourself no no

he came that you might have life
life more abundantly
i know it’s a lot of pressure
can i tell you the pressure is not going
away you need confidence
under the pressure
comes with the cup
and so wherever you are
watching online in this room would you
just bow your head and close your eyes i
i want to pray for
somebody who says you know what i need
that confidence
for the pressure i’m under i don’t know
which one of those points
was for you but you know how god is
speaking to you
maybe he’s calling you to find a place
consistent place
you cannot
have a part-time prayer life
when you have a full-time enemy
it’s coming against you
you need a place
maybe you’ve been giving up on the
preview now you’re starting to doubt
what you saw no no no he gave you the
preview
because there is a premiere date
there’s pressure in
between maybe it was the people and
even as i was preaching god’s revealing
people in your life that he’s saying no
they’re not bad but they can’t have that
level of intimacy with you
some of them they are bad and you need
to cut that relationship up i know god
is speaking to you
and i know he wants to give you power
that’s you in this room hold on would
you just lift up your hand if you say
one of those was for me and today god

thank you god that you know what we need
god i speak fresh confidence and
boldness over your people today
we will not shrink back from our call or
our gift
