hello I’m Dr Tony Evans with the urban
alternative and I’m standing here in the
midst of the Majestic Rocky
Mountains in every direction you look
the handiwork of almighty God is Crystal
Clear Psalm 14:1 says that the
fool has said in his heart there is no
God in other words to be an atheist you
also have to be a fool whether an
academic atheist or a practical
atheist the concept and
idea of a personal
God you can’t
escape I mean uh who is God he is the
Eternal
uncreated Creator sustainer and ruler of
all things he is inescapable
the further you get from God the more
chaos you invite in life in family in
culture when you see what this God can
do with the word of his
mouth then you and I should come to the
conclusion he really does know what he’s
doing how to do what he wants to get
done and how to do it
well we’re living in a world today that
has kicked God to the curb oh yeah we’ll
use him for invocations and
benedictions as long as he stays out of
the stuff in between we don’t want him
to manage all of life but he’s an all of
life
God until we start taking god seriously
that’s what the Bible means when it
talks about fearing God until we stop
marginalizing him wanting his name
wanting his nomenclature but not his
principles not his policies not his
perspectives not his governance we just
want the name so we can have a little we
can have a little religion and feel
better about ourselves we will not be
able to
address the issues that we face in the
world in which we
live the god of creation stands ready he
stands ready to help he stands ready to
heal he stands ready to transform he
stands ready to uh bring things back in
order but he’s only going to do it on
his terms that is he doesn’t exist for
us we exist for him and until we decide
to exist that way we won’t be doing much
of an existence at all we’ll just be
here doing the best we can the Creator
God who is transcended in other words
words he he exists outside of time and
space is also imminent he wants to be up
close tight and personal he wants to be
in your face he wants to be surrounding
your decisions he wants to be defining
what life is what identity is what
family is what meaning is what purpose
is what hope is what dignity is what
Destiny is and what eternity is
of course that’s why he sent his son the
Lord Jesus Christ to get rid of the
problem that would keep us from him the
problem of sin and the good news of the
Gospel is anybody who places faith alone
in Christ alone for the Forgiveness of
sins and for the free gift of eternal
life he will wipe their slate clean it’s
called being born again start their life
over again and give them an eternal
reason for existence he will give them
heaven in the future and his help in
history and time so I invite
you to not marginalize God again the
further God is from an environment
whatever that environment is no matter
how small or how big then the more
chaotic that environment will become as
the Bible says in Romans 1 because they
no longer wanted to retain the knowledge
of God beginning in verse 18
he says in verse 24 26 and 28 God turned
them over God turned them over God
turned them over it meant he let them
live with life with a Divine abandonment
I’m going to let you see what life is
like when you exit me out of it but the
good news is he’s ready to come home
he’s ready to bring it on in he’s ready
to let you see let us see let the
society see let the world see what life
can be like when he’s back in control
but you know what he’s offering that to
us today we better grab hold of God
because if we miss grabbing hold of him
there’ll be nothing left for us to hold
on
to I welcome you back to the god of the
universe who can create all this and he
can straighten all the stuff out in
between
