well family listen i’ve got a word from
god today and
and i’ve been praying about this word
i’ve been sitting on this word for
several days and
and i really believe that that if you
tune in and you really hear what the
spirit is saying to you
i believe that god’s gonna draw you near
to him in such a way
that things are going to open up for you
unlike ever before i believe that this
is going to be
the solution and the answer to something
that you have been
wrestling with you’ve been trying to to
get to the next level you’ve been trying
to
experience a dimension of breakthrough
and you’ve tried
everything except this and i believe
it’s going to bless you
and so i want to draw your attention to
a passage of scripture
it’s not an unfamiliar passage of
scripture we’ve heard this before we’ve
preached
before but there are some truths that
we’re going to unpack
and uh and so let’s go right now to
judges uh the 16th chapter
and we’re going to read verse 28 through
30.
of course you’d have to read the whole
16th chapter to get it in its context
but um but we’re going to start here and
we’re going to have a conversation
god’s going to move in your life you’re
going to be blessed and edified
so let’s get right into it judges 16
verse 28 it says then samson
called to the lord saying o lord god
remember me i pray strengthen me i pray
just this once oh god that i may with
one blow take vengeance upon the
philistines
for my two eyes they had taken his eyes
out
and samson took hold of the two middle
pillars
which supported the temple and he braced
himself against them one on his right
and the other on his left then samson
said let me
die with the philistines and he pushed
with all his might
and the temple fell on the lords and all
the people
who were in it so that the dead he
killed at his death
were more than he had killed
in his life hallelujah
today i want to talk about the beauty of
brokenness the beauty of brokenness
let’s pray father thank you so much
for your word it is food for us
it edifies us and god here in this
moment
i want you to prepare a table with all
sorts of bread
and and refreshing water and everything
that
your sons and daughters need to be
strengthened
to be made new to be
renewed and to have their their minds
transformed in such a way
that it would create breakthrough in
their life father i thank you
for the spirit of wisdom revelation
insight and knowledge and i thank you
god that through these
lips i will connect with heaven
and living water will flow and it will
bless your sons and daughters as they
engage
we love you we thank you we consider it
done
in jesus name amen
amen in in 2014
i wrote my sophomore book it was my
second book
and it was called wholeness and the book
wholeness
was all about discovering
identifying and uncovering brokenness
that often hides in our blind spots
and i talked about how brokenness limits
us
and how if we don’t address brokenness
then we won’t have the life that god has
called us to have
and it was a great book a bestseller you
know god did his thing with it
but there’s another type of brokenness
that i want to talk about and this
brokenness is actually
extremely profitable to you and me
that’s right you’ve got two types of
brokenness
i’m gonna break down what those two
types are the first type of brokenness
is self-induced brokenness
let me back up let me qualify this i’m
talking when i say brokenness
that’s being profitable i’m not talking
about
when something has happened to you in
life that has broken you down
and now all of a sudden instead of
getting that area of brokenness healed
uh you allow other things to feel that
area that’s bad brokenness
this type of brokenness that i’m talking
about is actually good brokenness
and it’s a brokenness that that and i’ll
get into the two types in a second but
it is a brokenness that if we
we yield ourselves properly and if we do
these things
it will bless us it will be profitable
so you’ve got bad brokenness
that’s when something happens and you’re
broken and you live from this broken
place
and then we have this good brokenness
that actually
is profitable and will produce god’s
best in your life
if you’re tracking for me put it right
there in the feed i want to break this
thing all the way down i
am teaching today by the way and so
as it relates to good brokenness there
are two types
of good brokenness this time it’s almost
like cholesterol you know cholesterol
you got good cholesterol you got bad
cholesterol you got ldl
and you got hdl it’s similar to that
right the bad broken this is what i
described earlier this is the good
brokenness and there are two types of
good brokenness
here we go let’s get into it the first
one is self-induced brokenness
and this self-induced brokenness
is what disciplines the mind
the spirit and the heart so that
space for god is created in our lives
and that’s accompanied by truth power
and blessing stay with me
this is self-induced brokenness this is
when we
take it upon ourselves to break
ourselves before the lord
because it creates space for god and we
temper ourselves so that god can move in
our lives
i’m going to unpack it in just a second
but the first type is a
self-induced brokenness the second type
of
this type of good brokenness is a
god-induced brokenness
there is a difference because this
god-induced brokenness
first of all is extremely uncomfortable
this this is the type of brokenness that
god
knowing that we need to to get to a
certain point
him loving us so much and because we
don’t have
the discipline or the sensitivity or we
don’t have the
unction or the wherewithal or even the
knowledge that we need to be broken
god then steps in and it brings about
his brokenness this god-induced
brokenness
and let me tell you something that don’t
always feel good
this this brokenness it crushes this
thing that all of us have
and all of us are susceptible to called
the pride of life
it crushes it you know how the scripture
talks about how we shouldn’t love the
world or the things that are in the
world and he breaks down the three
things that are in the world
the lust of the flesh the lust of the
eyes and the pride of life the pride of
life is that that thing where
we don’t believe that we really need god
we need god but we don’t need need god
all we need is our money
all we need is our looks all we need is
our relationships
all we need is our platform all we need
is our followers you know what i’m
trying to say
like like it’s it’s you can even be a
believer
and walk with the spirit of the pride of
life on you and not even know it
because it ultimately comes down to who
or what you’re putting your trust in
so there are two types of brokenness
again the self-induced brokenness
and then the god-induced brokenness now
let’s touch let’s talk about let’s go
further
the easiest way to be broken quite
frankly is when god does it
god induced brokenness is actually easy
for you
now i didn’t say it wasn’t pain-free
it’s easy but it’s extremely painful
it’s easy watch this because you don’t
have to do any work
but it’s not fun at all so so so
so in other words we can sit around and
do nothing and allow god because he
loves us to break us
and to get us to where we need to be or
we can do it the hard way the hardest
way
but the best way is not when god has to
break us
but it’s when we learn to break
ourselves
there’s a passage of scripture in
matthew chapter 21 and verse 44 out of
the
niv and it says watch this is very
powerful it says anyone
who falls on this stone will be broken
to pieces
anyone on whom it falls will be crushed
did you see it it’s basically saying
that that that if you
fall on the stone yet it is hard it’s
it’s difficult
to bring yourself down it’s difficult to
break yourself it’s difficult
to to acknowledge the things that you
need to acknowledge in order to break
yourself so that room for god is
created but it’s good
it’s good for you and in other words and
not only is it good for you
it’s better to have you fall on the
stone you know
jesus is called the rock it’s better for
you to be
to fall on the stone than to have the
stone fall on you
because if the stone falls on you you’ll
be crushed
and that’s what that passage says and as
we will see
such was the case with samson
so today i’m going to talk about
brokenness i’m going to talk about why
it’s important
i’m going to talk about how we you and i
can get there and very importantly i’m
going to talk about how
we need to stay there because i believe
with all of my heart
the the doorway to your next dimension
is in your brokenness i don’t believe
it’s in more money
i don’t believe it’s in more quote
unquote success i believe it’s in
your ability watch this to break
yourself
to be broken there are things that god
wants to do in your life
there are things that that his power
watch this
your destiny needs god’s power
and when you’re not broken before the
lord you are limited to your own power
and you’re limited to your own strength
i feel the spirit
of the rising savior talking to you
right now
when you’re not broken before the lord i
don’t care how good your life is
when you’re broken before the lord and
you create space for god to move
in your life it opens up the floodgates
of heaven
you go from things being impossible to
possible
i feel like god’s getting ready to show
you how to break yourself so that you
don’t have to wreck yourself
and not only that i believe that mighty
things are going to come through your
life because we’re going to learn
how to break ourselves it is called
being beautifully broken
this type of brokenness is beautiful
hallelujah
because it allows god
to be god in our lives we got a lot of
ground to cover
and so so i want to talk about four
things that
that brokenness does four things that
brokenness does
the first thing that brokenness does and
we’ve touched on a little bit
is that it makes room for god in your
life
my god some of you your life is so
packed that god has no place
and you you can even be religious and
you can
say all the right things and you can
even attend church and you can even say
your prayers but at the end of the day
god is not in your religious routine god
takes up space
inside of you in your life
and and there’s some of you i i feel
this you know there’s a passage i quote
it often
it says that god stands at the door and
knocks if anyone opens up
and here’s my voice i will come in see
for some of you even right now
you’ve been asking you’ve been praying
for god and god’s been knocking on the
door of your life if he’s knocking that
means that he’s outside
because there’s not enough space i
haven’t created a habitat for god in my
life
i haven’t created a habitat for god in
my thinking i haven’t created a habitat
for god
in my decision making i’m making
decisions watch this and then asking god
to clean up the mess when it doesn’t go
is
the way that i intend it i feel the holy
spirit
there’s an old school passage of
scripture in proverbs 3 5 and 6 i love
it it says trust in the lord with all
your heart
lean not into your own understanding in
all your ways watch this
acknowledge him and he will direct your
path see you’ve got to have a broken
spirit to do that
it takes a person to say i don’t have it
all figured out and
and god before i make this move i’m
going to acknowledge you i i’m going to
trust in you with all my heart
i’m not going to trust in riches i’m not
going to trust in relationships and i’m
sure not going to trust my heart
because my heart oftentimes gets me in
trouble anybody’s heart ever
gotten him in trouble come on somebody
you it felt right
he was all tender and then that tender
turned to tears
because you didn’t acknowledge god come
on and so and so brokenness this type of
brokenness
this beautiful brokenness one of the
things that it does is it makes room for
god
and so listen we see god
we see samuel rather we find samuel in
verse 28
actually having been broken now listen
he didn’t get broken
through his own efforts god had to break
him but listen it’s almost like that
song
i don’t care how you get there just get
here and look at this place of
brokenness verse 28 it says
then samson called to the lord saying oh
lord god remember me i pray
now let me say something right now this
is the first time you ever hear of
samson praying from this place of
surrender so in case you’re not familiar
with the story here’s what’s going on
samson was strong than a mug come on
somebody he was strong little mug
can i say that i just did samson was
super strong
and the reason why he was strong the the
i’m going to give you the quick version
back story
he was what is called a nazarite his
parents had dedicated him to the lord
and because he was set apart to the lord
the lord had blessed him
with unusual strength he had endowed him
with unusual
strength and samson was known for this
strength he’s just tearing up people i
mean all kind of stories
of him just conquest and and victory and
all that kind of stuff
uh and and the situation that he finds
himself in now
is he is watching you talk about the
heart he had trusted his heart got him
in trouble he had trusted someone named
delilah
who he loved but she was actually on
assignment
to find out where his strength lied and
ultimately cut him off and that’s what
happens right
but but if you but if you study samson’s
life you don’t
see him with a rich prayer life he
in fact he’s kind of proud and he even
because he knows that he is strong
he often goes and he puts himself in
tricky situations
because he’s relying upon god to
strengthen him
so so this is the first time in the
whole
account of his life that you see him
praying
from this deep surrendered pray deep
surrendered place
and and the only time watch this and the
only other time you see him praying
in his history is watch this it was more
of a
whiny entitlement prayer it was after a
great victory
when he should have been grateful for
the great victory that god had just
brought i mean it was a miraculous
victory that god had given him against
his enemies and he got a little thirsty
and started whining and complaining to
god saying give me some water
if you’re taking notes write this
thought down the
absence of gratitude is a sure
sign of your need for a healthy
self-induced brokenness i know i said a
mouthful
the absence of gratitude i’m telling you
see see when you’re broken one of the
first emotions that comes up
when you have truly broken yourself it’s
gratitude to god
i don’t care where you’ve been and i
don’t care what what you’re believing
god for
when you’re truly broken you realize
like jeremiah said in lamentations
chapter 3
it is by the mercies of god that we are
not consumed
it is by his grace and his mercy that we
exist
sometimes we have been saved for so long
that we forget
how crazy our life was before we come on
somebody let’s just keep it 100. how
crazy our life was before we gave it to
god
sometimes it’s not good to to
remove yourself entirely from the
consciousness of who you were when god
found you
man i was the other day i took some time
away
and uh and who that was just an
experience
but i took some time away and somehow
the lord
let me to retrace
my journey with him from the moment that
i got saved when i was nine years old
up to current and i was blown away as i
looked back over my life
and i saw all the mercy oh man
times that not you know they say you you
you you could have been dead or whatever
i’m talking about should have been
should have been you know strung out on
drugs
should have been you know gotten some
some
incurable disease like like should have
been
killed i mean just all these sort of
things and i went back over my life and
so and it was a trip because i took time
my place of meditation
and i went from nine and i was like wow
the things were crazy then and then i
went into 12 and i’m like oh my god
and i just looked up back over my life
and i saw the abundance watch this
the abundance of mercy
see when you’re not broken you have a
sense of watch this
christian or spiritual entitlement
i’m not grateful i’m not thankful to god
for all he’s done in my life
and no matter how bad i’ve got it
somebody’s got a thousand times worse
than me
you i i and in fact in my whole
relationship with god watch this i
become almost like
a spoiled child where my whole
relationship with god is
god i need you to take me to the next
level somebody ought to stop
right now and give god a shout
of praise and a hallelujah
for where he brought you from i feel god
god i don’t have to thank you for the
next level i’m thanking you for this
level
i’m thanking you god that i’ve got
breath in my body
i’m thanking you god that you didn’t do
what what perhaps the enemy wanted to
see happen to me
i’m thankful that you have been faithful
to me down through the years
if that’s your testimony and you’re just
taking a trip down memory lane
do me a favor and take about 27 seconds
and give god i thank you that you didn’t
do
or allow to happen to me
what my actions watch this purchase for
me
there’s a passage of scripture that says
the wages of sin is death
that means that we earned it wages have
to do with what you earn
what did you earn that god made sure
didn’t come into your life come on
somebody
where are my real believers in here i’m
not talking about the goody two shoes
i’m not talking about the people who
have been all you know saved all their
life
never did this never did that you may
not have done this but you did that and
if nothing else it is the pride thinking
that you don’t need god
if you are a lover of god and you’re
thankful for his mercy i just want you
to put it
right there in the comments right now
thank you jesus come on
just take a minute and worship him just
say god if you don’t do
anything else you have done enough
where are my worshipers at where are my
praisers at
god i thank you for your mercy i thank
you for your grace come on somebody
praise him with me right now hallelujah
man i got that list out check this out
i couldn’t even get to 30. i was so
overwhelmed with gratitude 9 years old
god was moving in my life
12 years old god was faithful in my life
16 years old he didn’t allow me to die
18 years old i didn’t get strong out on
drugs in college things were crazy i
didn’t get a disease
all these sort of things are taking
place are you hearing the words that are
coming out of my mouth
there are people who did not make it
they would be grateful to have the life
of you i feel the spirit
of praise coming over me right now come
on just take a minute
and say god i’m grateful
i’m grateful if you don’t do another
miracle
me standing here right now is one

yeah yeah
see brokenness brokenness
makes room for god
look at how he prays he he never he went
to
from essentially not praying at all to
praying
oh lord god
you when you think of samson you don’t
even think of him being an old lord god
type of guy
when you think of samson you think of
this strong i got everything worked out
and i got everything you know
and i’m beating up thousands of people
with the jawbone and of an ass
trust me you got to study it just study
the whole thing you’ll see it he just
beat literally he took the bone
of of of an animal the the hit the
jawbone
and beat down it was just crazy just
beat down just thousands of philistines
is crazy but you don’t even see him
but see brokenness and it wasn’t
self-induced brokenness and i’m telling
you we’re going to learn
how to get to this place of self-induced
brokenness unfortunately this was god
induced brokenness but it was brokenness
no matter what and it got him
to the place where he is saying oh lord
god from a deep
place this prayer came it’s almost like
jabez you remember jabez oh that you
would bless me indeed and that you would
enlarge my territory there’s
something about brokenness that brings
out
the type of cry unto god that gets god
to move on your
behalf just just say break me lord break
me lord break me lord
break me lord break me lord break me
lord i’m coming to a place family where
i don’t watch this i don’t want to be
unbroken
i’m not talking about that that that
brokenness where you do stuff
out of your broken this is what i’m
talking about i’m talking about being
broken for the lord i don’t want to be
i’m telling you i i get word i tell
this tell the story i’m speaking in
tongues i i tell this story all the time
how i get nervous when god starts
blessing me
when doors start opening when deals
begin to come through
when when you know and all these things
are happening when i start prospering
i listen let me tell you something i am
just as nervous as i am
excited because i realize that too much
to whom much is given much is required
what does that mean
that also means that that it is required
of me
to bring myself to my knees more often
god the more you bless me the lord i
need to get
the higher you lift me up the lower i
need to get
because it is in the place of brokenness
where i am truly safe
are you tracking with me say break me
lord
break me lord yeah it makes room for god
it makes room for god the second thing
that brokenness does is brokenness watch
this
connects us to god at the
deepest level at the deepest level
i feel the spirit at the deepest level
most of us watch this are not
deeply acquainted with ourselves oh
fellow holy ghost
some of us don’t even know ourselves
deeply
some of us are more familiar with the
facade of us
and what we are portraying than we are
the real version of us the real
and the deepest version of us is our
soul
it’s our soul so brokenness
and learning how to to go deeper and
and in layers and levels of ourselves
brokenness
connects us to god
in the deepest place and that’s the
place of our soul so the soul
your soul watch this is the deepest part
of you
but many don’t even know how to tap into
their soul
oh i got to pay attention now if you
would sleep earlier wake up now
this is critical
your soul is the realest part of you
and watch this if you’re taking notes
write this down your
soul watch this is the most honest
part of you yeah
your soul is the most honest part of you
your soul is the most authentic
part of you and here is something that
you have to understand
there’s a difference between the highest
version of you
and the authentic version of you not
they’re not the same the authentic
version of you is where you’re at
it’s truth it’s honest the highest
version of you
is where you’re going you should catch
what i just said
the the authentic version of you is you
it’s where you are the highest version
of you
is where god wants to take you and
oftentimes him
taking you to being the highest version
of you
is when the authentic version of you
gets real
and starts connecting at a
soul level to the god who made you are
you tracking me you’re tracking me just
put it right there in the comments and
say
i’m tracking with you i’m tracking with
you the authentic version of you is
where you are it’s the real you the
highest version
those are two different things it’s
where you’re going because oftentimes
watch this is so important this is an
important thought
because we live in our thoughts and our
feelings but we never
rarely we rarely live from our souls i’m
going to say that again
we live in and from our
thoughts and our feelings
but rarely watch this from our authentic
selves
rarely from ourselves we treat our mind
right which is wonderful and we comfort
our hearts
in one way or another but rarely do we
tap into
and if necessary heal the wounds of our
soul
see there are things that have happened
to you at a soul level
and you are trying to counsel your way
through it and you’re wondering why you
have to keep
going to the therapist and yes you get
some breakthrough but the next thing you
know you are
back in the office over and over again i
love therapy i’m for
therapy but therapy is for the mind
brokenness is for the soul because
sometimes what’s taking place
is has happened to you what you’re
wrestling with is a problem that is in a
deeper part of you than your mind
but in your soul when god made you he
made you a
living soul so
i can’t live from my mind i can’t
live from my heart i have to learn how
to
acknowledge the fact that i have a soul
that i can’t give anything
in exchange for my soul that’s why it
says what shall it profit a man
if he gains the whole world and loses
his soul oh god i feel it because what
you will do is
you will be trying you’ll be trying
when you don’t have have a consciousness
of your soul
and you’re not dealing with your soul
and you’re not living with
with the place if you’re not living from
a soulish place
then you will be trying to watch this
gang the world
to try to heal something that can only
be healed
by god’s connection with your soul are
you hearing what i’m saying if you’re
trapped with me put it right there in
the comments say i get what you’re
saying pt i get what you’re saying i
feel this for somebody and i want to
break something off of you
it’s a soul issue i feel god it’s not a
mental issue
it’s not a heartbreak it’s a soul issue
and if you don’t get
the healing that your soul needs you’re
going to be going round
and round and round but i’m here to tell
you that god
specializes in soul deliverance that’s
why he came
he said i came to set the captives free
from the soul level i feel
god if you’re thankful for god go ahead
put it in the feed say i’m thankful for
god

that’s why david said in psalm 23 when
he says the lord is my shepherd i shall
not want he leads me beside the still
waters and then what does he say he says
he restores
my soul
the shepherd does that which only the
shepherd
can do oh hallelujah i thank god for
for counseling my god i do i thank god
for it and i think that everybody ought
to ought to do it but
there are levels to this thing there are
levels to this thing and oftentimes what
you’re dealing with psychologically
is the byproduct of what has happened to
you at the soul level
hallelujah are you tracking with me and
brokenness
if you’re taking notes write this down
brokenness
is the passport to your soul
brokenness is how you get there see we
got to go from being self-aware to soul
aware
i’m talking about that in my upcoming
book balance shameless plug hallelujah
many are somewhat self-aware but they’re
not soul aware soul aware is deeper than
being self-aware
i have to be aware of my soul brokenness
is your passport to your soul i got to
get to my soul
because that’s where i really live
that’s who i am and so brokenness
this type of god ordained self-induced
brokenness what it does is it is it
breaks through the layers of pride
and things watch this we wrap around
our soul attempting to keep warm from
the cold of life’s issues
not realizing that the soul was designed
to be warmed
from the inside out are you tracking
with me
we put things around our soul i love
that song set a
fire down in my soul that i can’t
contain
that i can’t control i want more of you
god yeah that’s what we do we we put
things around our soul
our soul is cold our soul has a need
but instead of addressing it we we put
on a jacket here
put on a t-shirt that t-shirt is
is money and we put on a sweater over
the t-shirt
and that t-shirt and that sweater is sex
and if that’s not enough we we put over
that t-shirt and that sweater a jacket
and that jacket is drugs
because we haven’t dealt
with our lives at the level of the soul
oh my god
ah there’s so much so many places we can
go there
samson he wasn’t living from the soul
level
he was living from from the fact that he
had physical strength
right he was living from his from his
strength that’s what he boasts and he
boasted in his
physical strength perhaps even in his
looks right right
his physique i mean if he was strong
he’s probably cut up rip six-pack boom
pow chisel and hey
the brother had long hair he had long
locks come on somebody gorgeous
built long locks hey i got it going on
in fact i know that he trusted in those
things because when delilah asked him
where his strength lies
he didn’t say in god what did he say
he said in my hair and she cut it
are you tracking with me so so let’s
recap real quick
brokenness creates makes room for god
number two
brokenness connects us to god at the
deepest level at the soul level
number three watch this brokenness
keeps us a breath abreast
of our true condition now
something interesting happens if we go
if we look at judges chapter 16 verse 20
it says so he awoke from his sleep and
said
i will go out as before
at other times and shake myself free
watch this but he did not know that the
lord
had departed from him so the glory
had left him his strength had left him
god’s presence
had departed from him and he didn’t even
know
it he was in grave danger
and had no clue
see that’s what brokenness brokenness
reveals our true condition
watch this because brokenness doesn’t
pump us up
in fact the pursuit of brokenness
necessitates us
bringing ourselves down i’m not talking
about devaluing yourself i’m not talking
about
putting yourself down but acknowledging
true brokenness says
god without you i am nothing
this man is so full of himself
that god leaves him and he doesn’t even
know
see i gotta let me tell you something
family i recognize
that all that i am is because of god yes
i might be smart i’ve always been smart
yes thank god i think i’m a nice-looking
fellow okay whatever
right yes you know i’ve got some other
things going for me god has blessed me
in a lot of ways but at the end of the
day let me tell you
something it is my absolute belief
that if it were not for god not just in
the past but if it were not for god in
my life right now
i would be nothing jesus says i am the
vine you are the branches without me
you can do nothing and you got to say
that in mean it god like for real
not that thing that fake thing that you
give when you get an award you know at
an award show you know what i mean and
i’m not judging anybody for doing
anything but you know
not that fake thing old glory to god no
i mean a
deep deep belief that it wasn’t your
talents
that it wasn’t because you made all the
right decisions that it wasn’t because
you had the right relationships that it
wasn’t even that you worked so hard that
it was the goodness of god
and the faithfulness of god who is the
sole reason
that i am what i am and you are what you
are hallelujah
paul said it’s by the grace of god that
i
am what i am he did not deny who he was
he just gave the credit to the right
source it’s by the grace
of god and so
so brokenness reveals my my true
condition
you know see see if you aren’t broken
watch this if you’re not
committed to self-induced brokenness you
can be
out of alignment and out of your place
of grace and not know it
oh i don’t want that oh god i don’t want
to be a preaching
you know what i mean and telling people
the way of god but not broken enough to
realize when i need to make a shift
no no brokenness reveals
your true condition
i’m gonna move to number four so number
one brokenness makes room for god number
two
brokenness connects us to god at the
deepest level number three
brokenness keeps us abreast of our true
condition
and number four and i think i really
might love this one the most
brokenness heightens
your senses it height it heightens
your sensitive your senses and so
if we go with the text we look at the
text
if we study the entire story
when the philistines grabbed him
when they grabbed a hold of him because
the power of god had left him and he
didn’t know it
they grabbed him they arrested him
his enemies triumphed over him and they
put out his eyes
they put out his eyes and
and and the truth is they thought that
they were hurting him by putting out his
eyes but they were actually helping him
because the truth is his eyes
were his problem what do you mean
well if you study him not only did he
have a less problem right he had less
problem
but he walked or lived or governed his
life
by sight by sight yeah less problem
but not only that what was worse than
the lust problem is
he walked by sight and what i mean by
walking by sight is
walking by sight is trusting only
in what you can see physically and
accomplish in your own strength
oh come on you’re about to get this he’s
walking my side
and now watch this once his eyes were
removed
he could see he could perceive
oh god i feel it see his eyes being gone
forced him to have to trust in god and
to utilize
new senses i feel god that there are
divine
senses that are available to you
if if you would stop trusting
entirely in your own strength
and what you can figure out on your own
let me show you something real quickly
real quick this amazing story in verse
26
it says then samson said to the lad who
held him by the hand
let me fill the pillars which support
the temple so that i can lean on them so
what’s happening is
his eyes now are out he’s bound he’s
weak
all of the strength that he had he had
learned and had come to trust in
all that strength is gone so he can’t
trust in his eyes
he can’t trust in his strength he has to
now
because of brokenness now he has to
access different senses now it is this
he says let me he i love this let let me
feel i love the word let me feel
let me feel let me sense he tells the
lad
then samson said to the lad who held him
by the hand let me
feel let me sense let me fill
the pillars which support the temple so
that i can lean
on them he had to sense
his way to victory i feel there’s
something on this there’s something on
this
there’s some honest you’re trying to see
your way to victory and i hear god’s
saying
you’re going to sense your way to
victory you’re
you’re going to sense but but in order
to
sense your way to victory you’re going
to have to let go
of what you have relied on you’re not
going to buy your way to victory
you’re not going to manipulate your way
to victory you’re not going to lie your
way to victory
you’re not going to to to you know
you’re not going to compromise your way
to victory you’re not going to do any of
those things to victory
god is saying he sent me to tell you
right now you are going to
sense your way oh i feel god
see that’s what brokenness does
brokenness says
god i’ve got money but i’m not trusting
in it or god i’ve got looks but i’m not
trusting any god
i’m so gorgeous that that if i just walk
by
a man or walk by anybody they’re going
to turn but but i’ve got that but i’m
not
who am i talking to today i can get
whoever i want i can get any woman i
want i can get any man i want
i can get both i can do whatever i got
the power to do that but but i’m not
trusting
in that i’m going to sense my i
feel the lord i almost want to stop
right here
i hear god saying you’re trying to see
it and i’m trying to get you to sense it
and you’re going to have to come to this
place of brokenness
where you no longer try to manipulate
the system in your own strength
but you trust me i feel god see i don’t
want to have to put your eyes out
i need you to put your own eyes out and
start sensing for me
who am i talking to if i’m preaching to
you or teaching you
teaching to you today put it in the feed
say i’m tracking with you pt
you’re gonna sense your way into it oh i
feel god
you’re gonna set your way into it you’re
gonna sense your way into it
you’re gonna feel your way into it god’s
gonna lead you the steps
of a good man are ordered by the lord
you’re going to sense the right moves
you’re going to sense the right timing
you’re going to sense the right
relationship you’re going to sense the
right business
you’re going to sense the right
investment you’re going to sense your
way
into what god has for you
and i think family there is
symbolism in the lad which means the
child leading him
there there’s symbolism there the
symbolism why
samson he’s a conqueror why do i why do
we have a child leading him
around unless there’s a lesson
and i think that there is a lesson i
think that we have to be
willing to be children in life
not so-called masters but students
you know what’s interesting the children
of
israel never outgrew their title
of children it doesn’t say
they became the adults of israel the
adults of israel is nowhere in there
all their lives and some of these people
were over 100 years old they were still
called children why
because it is about childlike humility
that brings out our best and makes room
for god to do
his best work in our lives are you

and the amazing thing we’re landing here
the amazing thing is that
samson’s victory in brokenness
was far greater than all
of his victories in his own strength
did you catch that it says at the end of
it
it says and and the philistines that he
conquered in his death
in that one moment where he was broken
and completely surrendered to god not
trusting in his sight because he
couldn’t
but he’s sensing now from the place of
brokenness
he conquered more in one moment
than he had the entirety of his life
that’s the power of brokenness
i feel god allah
there’s strength coming to you i got
some more few more things to say but i i
just sense that there’s
the strength coming to you and i don’t
know who you are but but there’s
strength coming to you
and you thought it was like i’m gonna
break through no you’re gonna break down
you’re going to break yourself you
you’re going to get broken and when you
get broken
god is going to visit you see here’s
awesome thing
with samson yeah he died and quite
frankly
because of the god induced brokenness
his life was cut short it says he
reigned in israel for 20 years most of
the righteous kings reigned for 40.
so his life was cut half short but
that’s okay there was still victory
but i think what’s interesting is that
the moment that brokenness comes
upon him and he embraces it his hair
started growing back
and that’s what i believe is getting
ready to happen to you
i don’t know who you are and and maybe
you feel like you’re out of strength and
maybe you feel like you don’t have the
strength you don’t have the
what it takes to to get to where you
need to go but
but but but i hear god saying the answer
is brokenness and i’m going to cause
your hair to uh
i’m going to cause your hair to grow
back and you’re going to be stronger
you’re going to be stronger and i don’t
believe you have to die
but you’re going to be stronger in this
next act of your life
that you have ever been are you tracking
with me
i want to pray for you i want to pray
for you
because brokenness is everything i i got
to tell you
i went away to to spend some time with
god of course i’m writing
and i got there and i i laid out before
the lord and
the moment that i got there i just fell
down to give myself to god
and just something just begin to break
and there was a there was a
a a the best way to describe it is a cry
that came
out of a part of me that i was not
familiar with it wasn’t me
it was my soul it was me but it was a
deeper part of me it was my
soul crying
because that’s where brokenness happens
when you decide to be broken before the
lord to lay yourself down before the
lord in absolute humility
you will hear the cry of your soul
because here is the thing your soul
wants you to be broken your soul is like
please break yourself
please so that i could get
what i need and i can tell you right now
i’m determined to never be unbroken
bless hallelujah thank you lord but we
need brokenness brokenness is not for
god
god is is not on some ego trip
where he needs you to like just humble
yourself before me bout to kiss the ring
it’s not that
you need brokenness we need brokenness
so that we create space and i believe
that
that broken people i believe that people
who who regularly
break themselves before the lord pursue
brokenness before the lord
i believe in fact the bible says that
god draws near
but when god draws near the revelation
the innovation the favor the
opportunities
the blessing all those things that take
place
are significantly multiplies
as we compare that with otherwise here’s
the last pass of scripture i’m going to
leave with you it’s in
psalm 51 and 17 it says the sacrifices
of god
are a broken spirit what does it mean by
the sacrifice
the worship it says that the father
seeks worshipers so the sacrifice is
worship
the worship that god is looking for the
sacrifices of god
the sacrifices that god respects and
honors that god wants
us to offer to him it says our broken
spirit
it says a broken and a contrite heart
these o god you will not despise a
broken
and a contrite heart again doesn’t mean
god wants you to walk around sad
it’s actually the exact opposite
true brokenness is beautiful
and it produces joy and it produces
produces faith and
contentment and confident watch this
true brokenness is liberating watch this
because you get to not be the god of
your life
let me tell you something family is
stressful
being the god of your life it is
stressful
needing to be the one who ensures that
everything in your life
goes well it’s you
you’re you were not wired to be your own
god
and so brokenness is liberating oh i
forgot
i’ve got a father oh i forgot i’ve got a
god who loves me
who’s full of mercy and compassion and
who has all power
and so family i want to pray for you
and what i want to pray for you is that
you would i feel this
that you will pursue brokenness
every single day watch this that you
will not find yourself
too busy for brokenness
see when you’re busy you’re living out
of your thoughts and your heart
and your work and all that kind of stuff
watch this it takes
it takes time and space for brokenness
you need to create space
for you to have space to be broken
and solitude
is the atmosphere for the soul
so i want to pray for you father i thank
you so much
for your children who are watching right
now
and god they’re watching this or
listening to this podcast
because you ordained it they needed to
hear this word
they needed to understand the beauty of
brokenness
and the power of brokenness and father i
realize that it is
not uncommon at all that we build walls
around our lives
that we are out of touch with soul and
oftentimes even out of touch with self i
recognize that
and i also recognize that sometimes it
takes a breakthrough to even be broken
and so father i’m praying that whatever
the heart of your son and your daughter
needs
to access this self-induced
place of brokenness god give them
permission to not be okay
give them permission to be naked and
unashamed before you
lord remove every lie that would say
that that because
uh watch this take out of their mouth
the lie of i’m okay
i’m good no we’re not good without you
because as the last couple of years have
shown
in just one moment everything can change
god break us break us god
break us beautifully
and keep us broken
that we might create space for you that
you might abide
powerfully in our lives in jesus name
now family if you’ve never opened up
your heart to the lord
because one of the things that i’m
realizing is that sometimes you need the
holy spirit to break you
and so if you’re watching this and
you’re like i just can’t find it within
me let me tell you something
the holy spirit is broken it’s the
spirit of christ the holy spirit is
humble
and when you open up your heart to the
holy spirit the holy spirit will lead
you into all truth
and will empower you to do all things
that god desires
and so if you’re watching right now and
you say i want to give my life
to god i i don’t want to be the god of
my life anymore
if that’s you and you’re feeling this
strongly in this moment
and you feel god perhaps knocking on the
door of your heart
and you say i want god to come in and
give me strength to not
be living from anything other than
the sensing of the lord then i just want
you to say i receive you lord
i receive you just put it right there in
the feed it’s but i receive you lord
i receive you i receive you lord i
receive you
i receive you see see
god christ was broken
so that we can come to be whole but we
can’t be whole
without our own brokenness does that
make sense
us saying god i’m broken without you
already
see it’s just being honest i need you
and then god says okay i was broken
so that you might be whole and when you
acknowledge your brokenness and you are
broken before me
creating space for me i will come in and
watch this
and deal with the issues of your soul
that torment you i’ll do that
i know your soul i formed you i was
there
when god breathed the breath of life
into your nostrils
and you became a living soul whether or
not
you want to be a soul you are a soul
and i know how to heal the soul shape
the soul
empower the soul and so if that’s you
when you say
pt i’m opening up my heart to the lord
right now
just putting this just just say i
receive we’ve got leaders
that are there to pray for you there’s a
