anybody ready for the word let’s do it
all right
just had to get all that out of me now
I’m ready let’s go for week none of a
series we’re calling help me and this
message today I’m already telling you I
already got part two no question about
it why am i pacing because this house
some of y’all gonna be walking after
this message
cuz today I want us to go a step further
in this series that will help bring
balance to this entire message
everybody say balance uh-huh see because
we’ve been in a series called crazy
faith and crazy faith if you haven’t
written down the definition yet I want
you to take this down crazy faith are
only thoughts and actions they lack
reason but it’s trusting fully and what
we cannot explicitly prove like there
are people in here that are stepping out
in faith to do things that nobody in
their family has ever done nobody has
told them this is what you’re supposed
to do they’re trusting what God has said
and placed on the inside of them and
they somehow stepping out sometimes not
being sure but that’s what faith really
is it’s stepping out on a word of God
not being able to prove that it’s
actually going to happen what you need
to do is exhibit as examine exhibit a
what you’re sitting in right now is a
product of everybody say faith nobody
thought this was possible but God did
and he was looking for somebody who
would everybody say believe and so this
series has set off a chain of events in
people’s lives and people are out here
doing a lot of crazy faith stuff now the
thing about crazy faith stuff is if it
doesn’t come from God it’s just crazy
the thing about crazy faith is if it
does not come from God
it’s just crazy and there’s too many
people out here saying crazy faith but
they haven’t spent time in the presence
of God and you’re putting God’s name on
something that he did not
cosign and and today I need to bring
balance to this because I think some of
us are moving in a in a rhythm that is
more ambitious than anointed it’s more
of us yeah I knew I was supposed to be
great so I’m about to take out this loan
and I’m about to move my kids here and
I’m about to divorce my wife that no
that’s not crazy faith that’s just and
today I’m gonna help you delineate
between what’s crazy faith and what’s
just crazy because because the line is
kind of blurry if you’re not spending
time in the presence of God the line
kind of gets like I don’t even know
where this is well let’s just try he
said 51% faith so I’m just out here I
don’t know no stop because you need to
know that your life is more valuable
than making flippant decisions that your
children can be affected by you just
doing things without the wisdom of God
and so today I want to look at a story
in 1st Samuel chapter 13 verse 5 now
we’ve come to church today and and the
book that we read is called the Bible
the bibl II yes that’s the book for me I
stand upon the Word of God help me
finish the bi being all those people
been in church for a long time they
taught us that in children’s church it
didn’t really help us ok here we go
go to 1st Samuel chapter 13 and the
reason I say that is because I’m gonna
read a large portion of Scripture and I
want to do something today I want to
call this interactive Bible reading time
okay and and so we’re gonna try
something new today could y’all just
stand up for the reading of the word
today just like just stand up right now
I just want you cuz it’s you know a lot
of people say a lot of things right here
is to honor the word and all this this
just a lot of Scripture I don’t want you
fall asleep okay that’s my actual eat
reason and what I’m gonna have you do is
I’m gonna have a few portions of
Scripture underlined and I want you to
say those out loud with me
okay can y’all help me with that First
Samuel chapter 13 verse 5 it says now
let me help somebody cuz I know this is
some people’s first time in church in
this story I’m about to give you I go
into my Holy imagination there’s two
characters there’s a guy named Saul
which is our main character and in my
mind saw looks something like this um
he’s kind of like a handsome man a man
that um actually you know what I’m
saying it looks the part of a king and
is able to to to make um a statement
with what he’s doing if you have that
picture of Saul could you put it up on
the screen for me right now and then
there’s another a guy named Samuel and
Samuel is a prophet Samuel is a prophet
that that um here’s the word of the Lord
that that’s all in my mind right now
kind of a Brad Pitt like he looks the
part he’s the king okay and then then
there’s um Samuel and Samuel I need
somebody kind of old and somebody who’s
like wise and looks like very um stately
y’all know Morgan Freeman be old for 90
years life and in my mind these are our
two main characters they’re saw who
who’s the king and they’re Samuel who
appointed him to be King and I like to
do this just so people can get an
understanding now let’s read the
scripture with with Saul and Samuel in
mind okay it’s at verse 5 then the
Philistines mustered up a mighty army of
three thousand chariots six thousand
charioteers and as many warriors as the
grains of sand on the seashore they
camped at mcmaster feast of Beth even
the men of Israel saw help me what a
tight spot they were in has anybody in
this room ever been in a tight spot okay
kukuku and because they were help me
hard pressed by the enemy they tried to
hide in caves thickets rocks holes and
sister
some of them crossed the Jordan River
and escaped into the land of dad and
Gillian meanwhile saw Brad Pitt stayed
at Gabe Gilgal and his men were
trembling with remember what the
opposite of faith is it’s fear
they were trembling with fear Saul
waited there for seven days for Samuel
as Samuel had instructed him earlier so
he got instructions of what he was
supposed to do and he waited but Samuel
still didn’t come so saw Brad Pitt
realized that his troops were rapidly
slipping away it’s crazy how you
probably shouldn’t make decisions when
you’re in a season of loss because it
can impair your judgment he said he saw
the people slipping away so he demanded
bring me the burnt offering and the
peace offering and Saul sacrificed the
burnt offering himself look just as Saul
was finished with the burnt offering
then Morgan Freeman arrived Saul went
out to meet him and he said hey what’s
up and Samuel said what is this you have
done so I’ll reply I saw my men
scattering for me and you didn’t arrive
when you said you would and the
Philistines are at mcmaster ready to
battle so I said to the Philistines and
the Philistines are ready to march
against us at Gilgal and I haven’t even
asked for the Lord’s help so I felt
compelled to offer the burnt offering
myself before you came how many things
have you done before God came how many
relationships did you get in before God
came how many houses have you taken out
loans on before God came I mean your
business right how many cards did y’all
drive up here today and you called it a
blessing in one season but it was
actually a curse because you couldn’t
pay the payments and it was before God
came how foolish samuel exclaimed you
have not come and capped the commands of
the Lord your God gave you had you have
kept it
you have waited on God have you would
have had just a little more patience the
Lord would establish would have
established your kingdom over Israel
forever but now your kingdom must end
for the Lord has sought out a man after
his own heart the Lord has already
appointed him to be the leader of his
people walks in David because you have
not kept the Lord’s command I want you
to turn to for people and tell them the
title of my message
hasty faith yeah just tell them hasty
faith hasty faith and you can be seated
in this building now some here like
hasty faith what is that like I felt
that it was important for me to bring
balance to this entire series because
some of y’all have heard baby faith and
maybe faith and all these other phases
and what you’re doing is you’re moving
too quick y’all out here just doing
stuff and and people are moving at a
pace that God’s not moving at and so I
want to give you the definition of hasty
right now hasty means acting too quickly
overly eager or impatient and what I
found out is that some of our faith is
not lazy some of our faith is hasty if
we think God says something if we think
that’s our husband
[Applause]
uh-huh if we think that’s our house and
what happens when you are at a starting
line and they haven’t said go yet and
you crossed the line before its time how
many runners do I have in the building
okay when you get down in the blocks and
it’s about two you’re going to run
you’re gonna go but when you’re down
there and there has not been clearance
to move yet and you begin to run full
force you have a false start and you get
this quad and I want to help some people
in this room who are trying to figure
out with all the energy you have in
faith why nothing is working it’s
because the race hasn’t started yet and
you’re running on the track God has not
told you this is the time or the season
for this thing but you heard a word from
God and so now you gonna make it happen
and I just came to tell you maybe you’re
being too hasty maybe you’re being too
quick in the things that God has said
it’s gonna happen he appointed Saul as
the first king of Israel he was gonna
rule he was gonna win the victory but he
moved too fast right down point number
one hasty faith can cost you forever
like you moving too fast can cost you
forever
I feel like squints on the Sandlot for
ever for ever some of y’all will get it
later
but um it literally can cost you forever
look at it first Samuel 1313 he said had
you have kept the commands of the Lord
you would have established your kingdom
over Israel I want to leave you with
this this this thought if the enemy
can’t get in front of you and stop you
he’ll get behind you and push you
and there’s people in this room that
you’ve been waiting for God so long that
you need to have your faith sparked but
there’s so many other people in here who
are ready to do something in the enemies
like yeah go ahead start that business
go ahead take that second job go ahead
do that thing because he know you’ll
never be able to have the time to enjoy
the blessing to be who God’s created you
to be
to develop on yourself if you’re so busy
that you cannot be able to allow God to
speak to you in the midst of everything
that’s going on
some of y’all hasty and I know that
hasn’t been something that somebody’s
described you have you know that Sally
she’s just so hasty but your pastor is
coming to you today and telling some
people maybe it’s too quick maybe you
haven’t been patient enough maybe you
have not allowed God to say go at the
moment you heard the word you just
started running and I think about this
because if Saul would have kept this one
piece of patience in his life he would
have been the king and an heir forever
now I think some of y’all miss would
actually happen
Samuel Morgan Freeman tow saw wait here
for me for seven days we’re gonna come
offer a sacrifice to God together and
then you’re gonna win every victory from
here on out the seventh day came and at
the moment the seventh day came he saw
people leaving he saw what people were
saying he saw people walking away from
him and so he didn’t want to wait
anymore let me give you a tip right now
just because people are leaving does not
mean that you need to start moving some
of us are such people pleasers in this
room at the time people start going away
from us and saying he different now or
they’ve changed then we try to start
getting active to help people understand
no no no no no no no but I’m telling you
if Saul would have just stayed put the
Bible tells us that right after Saul
finished offering up the sacrifice
Samuel came
he couldn’t wait ten minutes and it cost
him his entire it cost him his entire
legacy because of ten minutes of
impatience can I help you with something
else that there were 22 more Kings that
would rule in Israel that were not
connected to Saul because of this one
mistake let me read some of their names
because Saul messed up we get David
Solomon Rehoboam a Beija ASA Jos a Joe
Jehoshaphat Jehovah this names could you
please put on the screen all 22 of the
people who God had defined because one
man didn’t wait who else is God gonna
have to find cuz you wouldn’t wait not
one of these people are a descendent of
Saul because he wanted to do it
everybody say himself he was hasty he
wouldn’t get advice he wouldn’t be
submitted he wouldn’t ask anybody he
want to say would you pray with me about
this he wouldn’t submit it to anybody in
authority and what he did was he
forfeited everything that God had for
him because he was too hasty when I look
at this entire movement that God is
allowing us to really bring forth in
this moment I don’t want anybody to lose
anything because they’ve been frivolous
with their faith you’ve just been
believing for things that God said that
ain’t that ain’t me I know we’re in it
you want that I want this you won’t feel
I won’t you
you want it I have all you need and the
haste to begin to go for promotions the
reason you didn’t get the promotion is
because that’s not even your job but the
way that you’re supposed to go is
backwards and it doesn’t look right
but God has something over here for you
but you’re so hasty
to get into stuff so much and the
enemy’s plans for you to get so deep
that you don’t see how you can get out
of it and this is how many people live
their life stuck stuck in between what
they know God has told them to do and
then trying to make it happen themselves
God told Saul I would win this victory
for you I would have done this but you
gotta everybody say wait on me okay so
let me help you I found out the reason
why I saw felt like this and we find it
in verse six I want you to go back up
because so many of us are committed to
our preference and we’re not committed
to God’s purpose and until we become
committed to God’s purpose we will move
trying to make what God says will happen
in one season will move too fast trying
to make it happen but this is what
happened to them in verse 6 it says the
men of Israel saw what a tight spot they
were in can we be honest if you’ve been
in a tight spot at any moment in this
year raise your hand right now a tight
spot financially in your marriage at
your job okay that’s almost everybody
that’s watching okay and it says and
because they were hard pressed by the
enemy they tried to do things their own
way let me help you the enemy only has
one play in your life I’m about to
expose him right now write this down
he tries too hard press you when you’re
already in a tight spot this is his only
play like your marriage is in a tight
spot and that’s when the enemy comes in
with suggestion and the girlfriend from
high school that you ain’t talked to in
22 years she hits you with the DM your
marriage is struggling that’s the tight
spot but then the
girlfriend that comes that you ain’t
never talked to ever before and she hits
you with the damn how you been Billy
that’s when the enemy comes to hard
press when you’re in a tight spot
your money’s already funny and you that
that’s the tight spot but then your best
friend has his bachelor party in Las
Vegas and you have a gambling problem so
you’ve already been in a tight spot but
then the enemy comes to hard press you
and put you into a scenario that you
can’t win win in it’s like some man in
this room right now tight spot just
trying to live pure clean clean just
trying to keep it together not trying to
sew all my Wild Oats and be fruitful and
multiply
do you hear I’m just trying to live pure
and then the enemy come in and hard
press you and then they pass a law in
Oklahoma that women God’s beautiful
creation can walk around with all this
stuff just sound he hard press it some
man gonna be walking around like Stevie
Wonder’s just like I don’t seem that now
I don’t know what’s happening even
though house Alice I don’t know what I’m
telling you is this is the enemy’s only
play to when you’re in a tight spot he
wants to hard press you when you already
got a negative duk-soo report then the
tire goes bad when you already got a kid
that you’re trying to work through the
other one gets addicted to some type of
drug it’s when you’re in a tight spot he
comes to hard pressure and what happens
is that pressure makes people be hasty
it make people move too quickly this is
what happened to him they were in a
tight spot and they were hard pressed
and so they started just making
decisions that did not consult the plan
of God and I’m telling you that there
are people in here that I’m not gonna
get many a man’s today but you are
literally in the situation you’re in
right now because it started getting
hard and then the enemy came in to throw
a little extra pressure on that thing
and then you just start doing stuff some
of y’all are in contracts right now at
houses and apartments that you knew you
weren’t even supposed to be living in
that place another six months but then
it start coming down to the deadline and
you
got in a tight spot and the enemy
hard-pressed you and you just start
doing things some of y’all right now are
married to people that when you saw that
you turn 30 and you didn’t have nobody
that you were in a tight um I’m in your
business right now you were in a tight
spot and then the enemy tried too hard
press you on your birthday that ain’t
nobody ever gonna launch you after this
you won’t be able to have no kids
and so you stepped into a relationship
get pieces of yourself away that nobody
was supposed to experience except that
person that God had actually had for you
but you started doing things because you
were in a tight spot and you listened to
the suggestion of the enemy when he
tried to press hard and I know it
because I can see it on your face a lot
of us don’t talk about our hasty
decisions because we hope they just all
work out we start quoting Romans 8 with
all things I’ll do the work and they all
working look at it they are working for
the good of those that look I love you
but a lot of times we would never have
to quote that scripture if we consulted
with God before we did let me stop if we
would consult with him and make sure was
him before it happened we wouldn’t have
to quote that somebody say hasty faith
all I’m telling you right now point
number two write it down hasty faith is
provoked by pressure you start moving
out of character you start moving into
things you’re not supposed to when you
feel pressure and the crazy thing about
life is you always as long as you are on
this earth will feel pressure like
there’s no segment of life that’s
pressure free that literally tells us
that in this world you’re gonna have
trouble but take heart
I’ve already overcome don’t worry so how
do you respond in times of pressure see
you either respond in hasty faith by
prematurely moving or you respond in
crazy faith by believing what God said
waiting on him
and stepping out at the right time and
so many of us right now are sitting here
trying to figure out our life trying to
figure out our scenario trying to figure
out our relationships just like salt and
even Jesus had to see Jesus was was not
exempt from the enemy same pressure to
when he was in a tight spot the enemy
came to add pressure you don’t believe
me turn with me to Matthew chapter 4
verse 1 it says this right after he got
baptized right after the Holy Spirit
came and descended on him like a dove
right after it was like this is my son
and whom I’m well pleased after God
literally cracks the sky and talks to
you in front of people you would think
like it’s easier but look at what
happens right after that it says Dean
Jesus was led by the spirit who is he
led by this about to mess some of your
theology right here he was led by the
spirit into the wilderness you thought
your wilderness was the devil but what
happens when the Holy Spirit leads you
into a wilderness and he says why did he
lead him there to spend more time in to
get him filled up and and to be able to
allow his face to shine upon him look
what he said that’s what I would have
thought if I wrote the Bible it said
that that he was led by the spirit into
the wilderness to be tempted there by
the devil what
why would God let me be led by him into
a wilderness season to be tempted by the
devil why would God let me get into
college not to graduate and then have to
work this junk where they don’t even
care about Who I am and then he say I’m
marked why would God let me try to have
children and be infertile for so many
years that my spouse left me because
they really wanted kids and then told me
that I was still worth it see these are
the same situations because a lot of
times when we’re following God we get
led into wildernesses where it seems
like he’s deserted us
but he’s not put you in isolation he’s
put you in separation see the process of
being anointed the process of being
different cannot happen in front of
everybody who does not want to go
through that same process and what we’re
trying to do is hold on to everybody and
everything while God’s trying to make us
and so many times before we walk into
the Promised Land
he takes us to the wilderness you’ll see
how quiet it is in here today I may help
you and what he does is he takes Jesus
into the wilderness a tight spot
everybody say tight spot okay so it
would be enough if he was just in there
by himself but here come the devil to
add pressure to it he was fasting for 40
days and 40 nights that’s a tight spot
when yo lips is a she wouldn’t wind you
when you ain’t ate nothing and sand is
looking good you hear what I’m saying he
he was fasting and he became very hungry
during that time why couldn’t it happen
when I was eating why couldn’t it happen
while my money was right
what couldn’t have happened in a
different come on has anybody ever asked
why is this happening now like already
I’m in a tight spot why is it happening
now he said when he was already in a
tight spot the devil came and said to
him if you’re the Son of God tell these
stones to become loaves of bread
remember he was hungry and what he was
trying to do is get him to perform
miracles hastily stay with me he had the
power to do it this is the same God
that’s gonna take two fish and five
loaves and feed 25,000 people that
ability was in him now but it was not
yet time and so what the enemy tried to
do was tempt him with his own ability
like some of y’all have the ability to
go get in a relationship but it’s not
yet time you have the ability to go
ahead y’all don’t hear me and to start
that thing but it’s not yet time and the
first thing he said to Jesus’s aren’t
you hungry don’t you want to be
successful you don’t want to stay lonely
do you shouldn’t people know your name
and he tried to get him to move out of
his spot – and look how Jesus responded
it is written that’s why if you’re going
to stay in the place that God has for
you you have to be in the word that even
when you have to wait you have to tell
yourself stuff like this naw i’m
beautifully and wonderfully made my God
has a plan for me before I was formed in
my mother’s womb he knew me he had a
plan for me
plans to prosper me and not to harm me
today I am the righteousness of God His
grace in His mercy are new every morning
I may be in this situation but I will
not move prematurely it
you believe that in the room will you
give God some praise so if the enemy
tried to pressure Jesus who you think
you are come on let’s be real so so
you’re gonna have pressure in your life
but what is your pressure producing see
for Jesus pressure would produce purpose
do y’all know right after he defeats
this temptation of 40 days is when he
goes out and starts performing all the
miracles it was almost as if God said
I’ve put the potential in you but I have
to take you through this period period
so you can purify yourself and and know
where this is coming from and right
after that then he starts performing
miracles blind eyes all this other stuff
but it came after this waiting period
but for Saul the pressure produced panic
and some of y’all when y’all get into
pressure you start panicking when
pressure comes to your life you just
start doing stuff tests I’m like why are
you going so hard on this right now
because I don’t want anybody in this
room to forfeit your forever because you
felt pressure and you started panicking
well they don’t gave me a foreclosure
notice I need to go back to selling
drugs why the worst they can do is take
that house
that’s the worst they can do and at the
end of the day maybe that’s the thing
that needs to happen so that you can get
back to the place of humility because
you only been putting on for the Joneses
anyway you’re you don’t even like the
house or the boat or anything else but
you think that you are identified by
what people think you have and so you
wearing and doing and all this other
stuff and maybe God’s trying to bring us
back to a place of humility because we
started moving in hasty faith calling it
God but doing it too quickly yeah I know
I love it too
look what the panic produced for these
guys first Samuel 13 verse 6 it said
because they started panicking because
they were in a tight spot and they were
hard pressed look it’s they tried to
hide in caves thickets rocks holes and
cisterns what does your fear have you
hiding it that doesn’t have the ability
to cover you write this point down cuz
some of y’all don’t even understand it
yet what you think is protecting your
fears is exposing your faith what you
think is protecting your fear is
exposing your faith get this picture
it’s a whole army of people who are in a
tight spot and hard press so they look
around and say what can we do what can
we do what can we do they start
panicking and one dude stands up and
says I know I have an idea let’s go as a
whole army and hide behind bushes let’s
hide behind a thing that can’t cover us
the same way many of you are hiding
behind your success at business and so
you’re dealing with fear but you say as
long as I’m successful nobody will be
able to see it and you look dumb because
everybody can see you but you think that
success is hiding the fear that you have
to actually trust God I’m in your
business right now and this is what you
walk around life looking like praise the
Lord glory to God glory to God oh I’m so
face field God’s doing miracles in my
life and I’m still you know I’m just
trusting God every step of the way we
see you we see your inconsistencies we
see
we see all of that but for some reason
you start trying to hide but think
behind things that can’t cover you this
is what hasty faith will do God just
said wait on me but you hide behind
money wait on me but oh oh yeah see some
of y’all like that doesn’t make sense
ok thickets bushes there’s only one of
these things that made sense it said
they tried to hide in caves ok go hide
in a cave I think that would be okay it
still wasn’t really protecting them it
just gave them safety but but what but
when you were standing in a place that
you’re not supposed to be and you get
hard press you start looking at
everything as a source of protection for
you and so he said no I got an idea
let’s hide in rocks how do you hide in a
rock come on let’s be let’s be honest
how do you hide in a rock I imagine this
whole army goes behind this and maybe
this could be titled relationships and
what you do instead of walking in faith
is you hide behind the relationships
you’re in uh-huh and what you think is
that nobody can see you we see you we
see that you don’t actually trust God
but you connect and you make your ways
into rooms and do networking so that you
can say it’s God at the end of it but it
was actually you trying to make it
happen we see you know you don’t
we still see you your heart may not be
exposed right now but we can see your
feet out here dangling in places they
were never meant to be and you’re
standing in places that were never
supposed to be where you are it’s
because we don’t trust that if we wait
on God he’ll take care of us so I need
y’all to understand why this all
happened is because God was a few
minutes later than what they expected
there are so many of us in this room
that are moving in haste and trying to
hide but to hide behind things that are
never supposed to carry us because God
did not come when we told him to can I
talk real most of us are living our
lives and it breaks my heart because I
hear the stories of people and they’re
dealing with the consequences of not
waiting on God they’ve been hasty
they’ve been trying to do things their
own way and today I don’t want you to be
solved I don’t want you to forfeit
everything that God already has planned
for you because you could not wait just
a few minutes for God to stand up strong
and be your defender for God to stand up
strong and be your protector but you
would rather hide behind things try to
make people’s not see you and then it
said they would did in cisterns and many
of you don’t know what cisterns are but
it’s just a hole
I’m not safe
but a lot of people in this Christian
walk would rather think they’re safe
than actually be safe think they’re safe
in a career that you chose and I have a
degree for and I’ve got this and I’ve
got that and God said that wasn’t me you
didn’t even consult me about none of
that
so you got more degrees than a
thermometer not working in purpose right
now and now you’re sitting here thinking
that your education is hiding you but
you’re so exposed your faith has been
exposed right now um guys I’m stuck like
realtalk I can’t get out of here you got
me there and what ends up happening
is what we’ve been living in watch this
no no don’t take off me yet what we’ve
been living in we start carrying around
[Music]
because I wouldn’t trust God y’all don’t
hear me it’s stuck to me my past where
I’ve been sitting has now become a part
of my character because I moved too fast
now I’ve gotten new instructions and God
says it’s time to go I can’t even move
properly because my past is still house
still has still got me here
and all I’m saying to you today while I
look a plum fool it’s maybe it’s time to
stop hiding in things that can’t cover
you maybe it’s time for you to wait on
God somebody say I’m gonna wait on God
say it again say I’m gonna wait on God
[Applause]
that’s I’m like why are you saying that
because some of you are hiding an
Instagram for identity you’re hiding in
money for security you’re hiding in
drugs for peace you’re hiding in
relationships for love you’re hiding in
your children for significance oh you
didn’t think I was coming for you soccer
mom
well Little Billy has soccer and then
Sarah she has valet and tap because you
know she gets it from her mom and men
and then little tray he was a wild card
tray he’s on the math team and and what
you’re doing is you’re forfeiting the
purpose God put in you cuz you only feel
significance when you’re doing all of
that for them let me know I don’t know
what you’re hiding behind right now but
a lot of us are hiding because we won’t
wait on God we’re moving in a haste and
some of you are hiding an education for
wisdom and hiding in your business
instead of just being who God created
you to be if the business folded if the
children left you if the money was gone
if the church closed down who would you
be I must say it again if your friends
left you if you no longer had the
degrees if the house was foreclosed on
who would you be and the sad answer for
most of us is because we moved in hasty
faith to do things we would feel like
nothing even though he called us
everything I’m teaching today I don’t I
don’t want you to walk out of here and
say I got crazy faith and then you just
start moving and doing dumb stuff cuz
like saw it can cost you forever
okay Pastor Mike what are you really
trying to say what I need to know my
main encouragement is that pressure was
not meant to crush you the pressure
you’re feeling was not meant to crushed
you it was meant to make you let me give
you a scripture scripture 2nd
Corinthians chapter 4 verse 8 look at
this this pressure that Saul felt was
just supposed to reinforce his trust in
God it was not supposed to make him
start making hasty decisions he was just
supposed to be like well there’s more
enemies coming people are leaving that
means God is about to show up and do
some ain’t never been done before some
of y’all are facing situation when the
bad reports are coming when things are
happening you’re supposed to stand
flat-footed
say you know what this means that my god
is shall supply all of my needs this
means that the giant is big but my God
is bigger it means that this situation
will not take me out but my God will
take it out so the pressure is not
supposed to make you fold and that’s why
I look at this scripture in 2nd
Corinthians chapter 4 and it says we are
pressed on every side by trouble
pressures coming but we are not
everybody say crushed you’re not crushed
you’re still here
we are perplexed I don’t understand it
but I’m not driven to despair I’m not
going I’m not gonna go down that rabbit
hole of thinking that God has left me
and I need to stay in this place it says
we are hunted down but never abandoned
by God we get knocked down but we are
not destroyed
I came to give somebody an infusion
today that when you wait on God and
things seem like they’re moving past you
and it seems like the pressures trying
to force you to make a decision and
you’re already in a tight spot you need
to be reminded of this scripture that I
can be pressed but I will not be crushed
the same pressure can come to two
different objects and one if I use
pressure will be crushed and the other
if I use pressure will produce
many time God puts you in situations of
pressure to get what he put in you are
you in depending on how you look at the
divorce depending on how you look at the
layoff is the same pressure but one
pressure crushes the exterior but the
other pressure starts producing
something that others are supposed to be
nourished by see the reason pressures
because there was gonna be all that came
out of it the reason that the reason
that you were pressured is cuz it was
supposed to give somebody else
nourishment to believe this produce
nothing but this produced everything the
pressure that Saul felt was supposed to
deepen his trust in God which would have
required him to have an anointing to
stay in that place and the pressure
would have produced more oil in his life
but instead we remember Saul like this
something that was crushed under the
pressure thrown away and hopefully
recycled to be used again in a better
form so what happens when God’s looking
at your kids and saying they can’t use
them no more hopefully the seeds of
their kids won’t fold under the pressure
maybe they won’t move hasty and get
crushed under the pressure but maybe
they’ll wait on me and they will produce
something what are you saying Pastor
Mike that it’s time for everybody to
realize that the only thing that comes
out of you and pressure is what was
already put in you
now watch the whole children of Israel’s
army they were moving in everybody say
fear and you like won’t pass the mic if
if that was a fool coke bottle when you
crushed it stuff woulda came out of it
yeah artificial things y’all don’t want
me to treat sit here things that were
put in this by somebody who didn’t care
about how it affected others but there
was also seeds put in this that if this
stock put in the pressure and
accidentally a seed popped on the ground
and it failed in the right soil that
this wouldn’t just produced one great
two plates three grapes but we would get
a whole orchard out of the sea that was
pressed and crushed for all of us
somebody just needs to give God praise
right here that this pressure this
pressure no no come of this pressure
that you’ve been in it’s about to
produce for you it’s about to give
somebody else nourishment it’s about to
produce hasty faith will forfeit what
God wants you to have for it forever so
I’m gonna give you my last point cuz
some of y’all feel like this look how
ugly this is look look look how broken
in Tanner this looks but look how much
nourishment and look how much
quenching has happened because God could
put you in a situation with pressure and
you would stay until he came Saul had
just a few more minutes to wait on God
just a few and I don’t know what the
timetable is for you but something y’all
just have one more year at that job just
one
some of y’all only have one more month
in that situation that’s broken some of
you only have one more day I’m declaring
but this time tomorrow that there’s some
of y’all situations and on somebody
nobody got faced to believe me like the
some of y’all’s situation is turning
around tomorrow but I will not move in
haste because the pressure is on what
are you saying Pastor Mike if you don’t
understand anything else I say remember
this hasty faith is just faith too fast
hasty faith is faith too fast it’s still
faith like to get off the starting line
it still takes faith to run the race it
still takes faith Saul still had to have
faith that when he offered the burnt
offering himself that maybe God was
gonna take it he just did the right
thing in the wrong time just say
wouldn’t say the right thing at the
wrong time is a curse and many of you
get so hung up on be like oh I did what
God said at the wrong time I did I did
what he told me at the wrong time and
the right thing for Saul was to offer
the burnt offering but he was supposed
to do it with Samuel and the Bible says
over and over he did it him self
a clear sign that you’re being hasty is
that you’re doing it yourself I’m coming
for you that’s why we started be groups
it’s because it’s hard to be hasty when
you have to take people with you like
when you’re the only one who knows what
you and God made a deal about you can
break that promise at any time and the
only person you feel like you you know
my heart you know more Lord come on but
when you get in community and and you
say I really feel like God’s told me I’m
not supposed to date this entire year
and so I just need y’all to hold me
accountable for that and then it’s
January I’m like I know he from God God
has blessed me he has blessed me with
him look at him he’s an angel a chatroom
and then one of your friends says but
hey remember in October when you say
you’re not supposed to date anybody but
I think God answered my prayer I think
he no no that was pressure all that was
was pressure to see to see what you was
gonna do was you gonna crush and be
hasty how are you gonna stay in wait and
I don’t know what your situation is but
I want to encourage you that if you’ve
been moving in hasty faith take take
heart it’s still faith so you have the
raw ingredients to do the things that
will please God the problem is you’re
just doing it in the wrong time and I
don’t know who this message is for today
and I don’t know who it will apply for
tomorrow cuz some of y’all sitting here
right now be like why is passing life
going so hard on this and tomorrow
you’re gonna be given an opportunity
and so maybe this is this is this is
preemptive for some of you maybe for
some of you this is this is a Ford caste
so that you can know how to handle when
the pressure comes to tell you a real
story when I was about 24 years old many
of you know that my background is in
music production and this major record
company I’ll leave them nameless they
flew me up to New York for two weeks to
do showcases for bad boy and Diddy and
Universal Records and all this other
stuff at 23 or 24 years old I was twenty
ninth floor in Times Square Madison
Square Garden everything was paid for I
was producing I was living the dream
they loved all the music they loved
everything that I was doing I flew back
home and they offered me a six-figure
contract at 24 years old to come to New
York move to New York and produce for
them for one year I could have taken the
perspective business god but I had the
presence of mind to pray and when I went
to prayer this is exactly what the Holy
Spirit told me he said if you go you
will be successful but I’ll take my hand
off of what you’re doing now listen he
wasn’t trying to scare me he was trying
to warn me cuz he saw this he wasn’t
trying to scare me he just had a plan
that was better than the money he had a
plan that was better than my dream being
fulfilled he had a plan that would
produce food
for somebody else so I didn’t even tell
him that at the time we was about to get
married she would have had her dream
dream wedding so I didn’t even tell ha
ha sorry babe
but I knew watch this depending on who
you tell in what timing that’ll give you
more pressure so in that moment I knew
that I had to just say no to something
that I had no guarantee on the other
side if you would have told me people
around the world would know who I was
and it wasn’t for music I would have
told you you were lying but God he’s the
author and the finisher he’s the Alpha
and the Omega that means when he started
it he already saw the finish for you so
when he’s telling you to wait somebody
needs to hear me when he’s telling you
not to move in haste because he sees
what’s up ahead today if you’re in this
room and you know you’ve made any moves
in haste in the past let’s just go in
the past year I want you to stand and I
want you to lift your hands all over
this place I want to pray for you I
believe there is an anointing in this
place yeah
it’s not for everybody it’s for those of
you who feel like this this is a
repenting moment right now if you’ve
done anything said anything gone in
haste not waiting on God but trying to
make it happen for yourself could you
just lift your hands this is a sign that
says I surrender in your house right now
in your not in your car just keep your
hands on the wheel in the car but
wherever you are come on lift your hands
I want to pray for you father I thank
you that here we are and we’re saying we
repent forgive us for the Sall Spirit in
us that won’t wait on you forgive us for
being hasty and moving father God out of
the timing that you have for us today we
make a fresh commitment come on you say
it out of your mouth I make a fresh
commitment to you God to wait on you
father I thank you that those who have
decisions to make even today
even tomorrow even text message and
emails waiting for them right now god I
thank you Father that they would not
move by the pressure and being in a
tight spot but I thank you that they
would stand flat-footed and know that
the God of the universe is fighting
their battles and is on their side and
god I thank you that we would move in
crazy faith but it takes the same amount
of faith to wait that it does father God
to move without you
so father I’m thanking you that we will
hear your voice and a stranger we will
not listen to your words said my sheep
know my voice and a stranger we will not
listen to father I thank you that this
church will become ones who listen and
obey
in the timing that you have for us in
Jesus name hey lift you right there with
your eyes still closed and your heads
still bowed if you’re in this room and
you’ve never accepted Jesus Christ as
your personal Lord and Savior this is
the moment the Bible says today is the
day of salvation and what better moment
than in this thing where everybody’s
here for the same reason to see Jesus
lifted up that you would make a decision
that’s gonna take crazy faith that’s not
that’s not going to happen because of
everybody else doing it but this is a
decision that you’re making you’re
saying I’m taking my trust out of me and
I’m putting it back in you it’s the
greatest decision I ever made
it took me from being a liar addicted to
pornography a bad person on the inside
of my heart not to a perfect man put a
progressing man and I want that for you
I want that for your family
and I want that for everybody that’s
connected to you on the count of three
we’re gonna raise our hand if that’s you
cuz we’re about to pray for you and if
you’re in this womb I see hands going up
in the back right now if that’s you and
you’re saying pastor include me in that
prayer I just want you to raise your
hand right now one two
three if that’s you I see you sir I see
you ma’am I see you I see you I see you
and more importantly God sees you online
God sees you come on we’re a family at
transformations hurts right now so with
everybody just bow your head and close
your eyes and say this with me because
nobody prays alone here
it’s a family say God thank you for
sending Jesus just for me today
I put crazy faith in you I believe you
lived you died and you rose again just
for me
so today take over change me renew me
transform me I’m yours in Jesus name
