In this series on Bethel’s cornerstone values, Pastor Bill discusses the beauty of calvary and the significance of the blood of Jesus. Grace is an expression given to us through the blood of Jesus. He purchased everything we would ever need for life, both now and throughout eternity. If we believe that the blood of Jesus has settled every issue for us then He is worthy of our trust when things don’t always look good for us. Jesus took on himself what we deserve so that we can receive what he deserves.

we thank you for the cross
hi i have the privilege of talking once
again to you about
the values that we have as a church
family it’s cornerstones of thought
there’s four of them
uh the god is good nothing’s impossible
is that everything was purchased at
calvary it’s through the blood
and the final one is that every person
is significant
i want to talk to you about the cross
but the beauty of calvary about the
significance of the blood of jesus
everything was purchased at calvary
the bible says that in ephesians 2 that
in the ages to come
we will learn about the surpassing
greatness of god’s grace
think about that we know that we are
saved by grace we know the grace is the
favor
that god gives us but the scripture
actually teaches us
that throughout eternity we will
continue to learn about grace
it is that vast grace is an expression
given to us through the blood of jesus
what that basically means
is jesus purchased everything we would
need for life but not just now
in this lifetime yes the healing the
victory the triumph
their resurrection over death over the
powers of darkness all of that
was obtained at calvary but not only
that it’s throughout eternity 100
billion years from now if you can
imagine that
what you and i will be enjoying then
will have been purchased at calvary
the lamb of god will be seated on the
throne it’s the reminder that
everything was purchased through the
blood of jesus at calvary it’s the
constant point of salvation and
celebration
is our salvation because of the blood of
jesus well that reality
that thought that everything purchased
at calvary
has a belief it has a conduct that is to
take place in our life because of that a
behavior
and that behavior is i have to trust him
when things don’t look good
and i must trust him when things have
gone bad
when things have happened they turned
out different than i thought different
than i prayed if i truly believe
that the blood of jesus has settled
every issue for me
now here in time on this earth and
throughout eternity
then he is worthy of my trust when
things don’t look good to me
that’s the real challenge of believing
in the true effect of the cross
yes i’m forgiven for the past yes he
makes me acceptable before the father
that is all true but it’s also a payment
a payment that makes me capable of
receiving what jesus deserved
the most incredible thought to me is
that jesus took on himself
what i deserved so that i could receive
what he deserved
it’s the power of the blood it’s the
significance of the moment that we live
in
to see what it’s like to trust him when
things don’t look so good
that really is the honor of the believer
