In this Q&A video, Pastor Bill shares his thoughts about believers living sin-free and having their identity rooted in Christ.

i’ve heard you say that once i became

saved it’s impossible for me to sin

is that true that you said that

i never said that i never even thought

it i wish it were true

i would i would run around with the

great news yeah it’s totally so to be

clear you think

it’s possible for christians to sin oh

goodness yeah sadly tragically yes

and we may have personal experience with

it yeah yeah

no it’s you don’t lose the ability to

sin but you know

somebody once said you lose the ability

to enjoy it you know there’s that sense

of conviction and

you know if it’s impossible for someone

who has no sin

now yeah to sin then adam and eve

couldn’t have sinned

yeah i mean or saves himself at some

level yeah no need to send nature to sin

no that’s right that’s right and that’s

no that’s it’s just simply not true

i’ve never taught that um

[Music]

you have to work at it it’s not your

nature as a

believer i mean things really have

changed right

you have to you have to believe a lie

you usually have to believe a lie about

your identity believe a lie about what

god said over your life

things of that nature if i start

questioning those things well then

you know many things become appealing

that weren’t appealing before

you know yeah yeah well there’s that

passage i think it’s first john where it

says i’d write to you little children

that you will not sin

but if you sin we have an advocate yeah

for me it’s it’s perfect like hey yeah

the goal is actually

to continue to be transformed into his

likeness

yeah less sin is a really good goal

that’s right but remember when we have

an advocate you know if we do also

absolutely important i like the part of

that too that says and if anyone sins in

other words you’re not predestined to

say

yeah yeah well it’s possible you’re not

locked into that as a lifestyle and it’s

it’s silly to to think that you can’t

live sin free of course you can yeah
